I agree. Until we prove otherwise, we are second fiddle to Clemson in the ACC right now. We have our chance to make our statement Saturday and even if we lose, we still have a pretty good shot at a heck of a season.

Exactly. She's a sports writer. She might like us sometimes (rarely) or might be critical at times (often) but she is paid for her opinion. No need to attack her.

You guys are absolutely right - I think my reference to "Giraffe" actually came from the TKP Glossary but it was inappropriate.

My point in making the post wasn't really to ridicule her but to say "Wow - even people that have kind of enjoyed hatin on VT are saying nice things about us - be wary."

Just imagine how much the hype train kicks into high gear when we beat Clemson this weekend. But she's not wrong. If we finish the year 11-1 or 12-0 with an ACC Championship, there's absolutely no reason we won't be in the playoff. But obviously, we can make things a lot more interesting by winning this weekend, so lets just do that instead.

The tone of hatin' on is generally facetious. Insults there are usually farfetched and not based on facts.
I'll take that as a fair point.
I take all Heather Dinnich posts to be as equally far-fetched and in good spirit as the "Hatin' On" thread...
She's obviously knowledgeable and qualified, but it's fun to treat her as the polar opposite of Emma Watson... it's just all in good fun IMO...
