Anybody have some advice on this? Previously, I had always parked further away from BC and took a taxi or uber in and stayed at the bars until gametime.
Anyways, i have a decent sized group headed to BC on Saturday and we were hoping to tailgate. Thus far, my understanding from research on their website and Q&A with BC alum is that this is pretty much impossible as an opposing fan.
I can buy parking passes directly from the BC website, but only for '300 Hammond Pond Parkway', which requires a shuttle ride to the stadium and does not allow tailgating. No thanks!
It would seem that all lots that allow tailgating are reserved to BC donors. I have seen a few parking passes available on 3rd party sites but they are around ~150 bucks and look like they need to be shipped to my home, no electronic delivery. Meanwhile, our seats were 8$ a piece and I know from experience that that stadium will not fill up to half-capacity. It would also appear that BC took a page out of good ole Dan Snyder's playbook, where lots don't open until 3 hours before kickoff.
I am not sure of any stadium with worse accommodations for opposing fans.. I am getting desperate. Any input!?

You have summarized my understanding and experiences in Chestnut Hill. It's the worst. We have parked at the corner of Hammond Pond Parkway and Beacon Street in the past and walked to Alumni Stadium, after resigning ourselves to a tailgate-less day.
One alternative to tailgating: The New England Hokies chapter is hosting a pregame party with shuttle service.
Thanks for the input, that really puts damper on the gameday experience. I will look for the pregame event you mentioned to see if that is feasible.

Last time I went to a game at BC was 2010 and BC had a lot that was free that you could tailgate at. But there was a 20-30 bus ride to and from the game (again free).
Thanks for the response. I'll look out around and see if this is still a possibility. Doesn't sound like an ideal tailgate, but it'd be better than nothing. Currently, all the shuttle serviced lots I had found explicitly prohibit tailgating, I am thinking they might have done away with this option..

Yep, going to games at BC sucks. I've been there 4-5 times when VT comes, and the whole atmosphere just sucks the life out of college football. Not accommodating to visitors at all. Ten minutes before kick-off and their stands are maybe 15% full. I used to take the interminable local T in, but lately I've been parking in that free lot and taking that 20 minute bus ride. Like cattle.
I'm not going to make it this year, my son has a varsity football game on the Cape at the same time.
I made several road games last year. This year (discounting WVU) it looks like I won't make any. I sure hope we make Boston College our girlfriends, though.
I'm guessing the neighborhood directly across Beacon Street is too nice for anyone there to be offering parking/tailgating in their front yards? (Reservoir / Acadia / Stone Avenues)
Exactly. They have signage in front of the homes and neighborhoods prohibiting street parking. So uppity.
Can anyone recommend a good sports bar near the stadium to watch the football games until game time? Thanks.
Looks like there is not much around the stadium. Cityside Bar is about a mile walk down Beacon Street, which looks to be your best bet.
If you are invited to a tailgate on Shea Field ( their baseball field!!) next to the Stadium, don't plan on carrying alcohol into there. Not permitted. All alcohol has to come in by vehicles with parking passes. We had to chug our beer in the parking garage next to the Stadium.
