I love the bye week. Always have. If you want the best product possible on the field then you have to embrace the bye week. It gives the players time to rest their bodies and for the coaches to work on fixing mistakes/weaknesses. Halfway through the season is a good time for it. Players need some recovery time.

Great timing.
Good to check back in with the family, pay some bills, shave, shower, personal grooming to get ready for the long haul to the ACC championship game.

I agree that the bye came at a good time for the Hokies, and I'm going to the Panthers v. Eagles on Thursday night as an alternative. Should be a pretty good game. I hope.

Love the bye week! As a matter of fact, we scheduled our extended family Thanksgiving gathering for this Sunday, so now we can spend Saturday cleaning house, bathing dogs, and cooking five tons of food with ZERO chance of missing even one play of Hokie football.
Worst case, they never ask us to host Thanksgiving again.

You mean best case. I much prefer slapping together some green bean or sweet potato casserole and cruising over to some sucker's friend's house than being the host.

Good point. Best case for me would be some other family member hosting early Thanksgiving during Hokie bye week at their house! But living here in Upstate Palmetto Hell, that's probably too much to hope for.

We usually do the big extended family thing the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then it's immediate family on Thanksgiving day. But starting early like this, we will be eating turkey for THREE STRAIGHT MONTHS!
And yes, YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!!!

I think we broke ECU last year. Coming into Lane, they had just beaten NCSU on the backs of just missing out on beating SCar. Then we beat them so bad I think they forgot how to play football. Seriously. Found this gem on CFB Reddit
East Carolina ranks almost dead last in every defensive statistical category - GatorsBro7695
Pts/G: 129th

Rush Yds/G: 128th

This is legitimately the worst defense I have ever seen.

Indeed. Just returning the favor. They started our 14-12 slide in 2014 and 2015 seasons after a slightly hopeful 2013 (8-5). ECU was the beginning of many inexcusable losses in that run.

Couldn't have come at a better time with my school workload this week. How in the hell do you science types enjoy this stuff? If I never read about ATP's and ADP and glucose again I'll be happy.

I've always enjoyed machines and figuring out how things work; that's why I thought I would make a good engineer (I didn't and wouldn't). I find it fun and interesting figuring out how the most complicated machine works

Little known fact: before the early 90s, BYE was known by another, longer name. They decided that, for the sake of the new branding campaign, they would shorten their name and go with a more "modern" logo to try to connect better with an ever changing society. As a result, almost 30 years later, there is almost no one who calls BYE by their full name (wikipedia article)

Bye week lies to you. It tells you that you are going to have time to do some fall projects but then that sumbitch throws 2 soccer games, 2 birthday parties, 2 ice skating practices at you and laughs.

Bye Week is waiting for a sponsorship call from Bai so it can get new uni's without shoulder stripes.
The ad campaign will feature a remix of Steam, calling it a "Good Bai".

Lucky that the paintball event with coworkers changed to this Saturday. Also got some new games to keep me entertained for the next few weeks, Cuphead, Middle-Earth Shadow of War, and Total War Warhammer 2.

LOVING the bye week. On a long bizness trip and may only miss 2 games, so Ernest is happy.
Side Note: Does anyone else HATE following the game on your phone/radio if you can't watch it? I travel quite a bit during the Fall and when I work during a game, I completely shut my phone off. It makes me nervous and gives me anxiety just following it on my phone. I'd rather find out the score at the end like pulling off a band aid. It feels like when you found out an exam grade online...an F when the Hokies lose and an A for da Dub.

Came at a good time. We're a little too dinged up for my taste and Sean needs some time off.

Are you talking about manscaping?
He said LONG haul, pretty clear he is not talking about manscaping
National Championship Game*
But there's a bye month for that.
Assuming we dont make a bowl game each week during decemeber
That's . . . not how it works.
BYE WEEK AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY!!!!!!
Yeah, but they've got a perfect record.
...and winless at the same time
And more fans than the loluva spring game.
They actually play everyone. And never lose.
I guess I'll use the bye week to manscape too.

Can the VT instagram make a post about going 1-0 against the bye week? Plz
Yeah. No injuries in practice means 1-0 against the bye week. I'm all for it.

Wait.....what?
You have TWO THANKSGIVINGS?!?!
I wasn't aware that was allowed. I want Thanksgiving this weekend. And every weekend!
Go to Canada last week and you could have.
We usually do the big extended family thing the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then it's immediate family on Thanksgiving day. But starting early like this, we will be eating turkey for THREE STRAIGHT MONTHS!

Leads to three months of this:
Scottie doesn't know??!!
Beat me to it
Bye week musings....

I'm glad that we have broke them

....and they played UCONN!
Conflicted. I guess I can go back and watch game film from the first 5 games and try to educate myself.
Sealing the driveway?
The Bye week is so long it parks diagonal across 4 spots
Lawson & Harris are set to start again for the infamous Bye Week Game.
Couldn't have come at a better time with my school workload this week. How in the hell do you science types enjoy this stuff? If I never read about ATP's and ADP and glucose again I'll be happy.
Why do you need to know that for Emergency Management?
Gen ed requirements I've managed to put off till near the end.
I am a science type and I can't bother with ATP and ADP and glucose, either
I've always enjoyed machines and figuring out how things work; that's why I thought I would make a good engineer (I didn't and wouldn't). I find it fun and interesting figuring out how the most complicated machine works
Oh come on. You're learning about the raw power that flows within you
Bye Week tucks its undershirt into its tighty whities
Hate the bye week..if we aren't playing GT right after it.
Or the week after GT to get everyone's knees extra time to get healthy from all the chop blocks...

Top notch use of the Edit function
well, ya know. I felt like too many people were skipping ahead and ruining the joke.
Bye Week thinks its training to be the next Off-Season
Bye week lies to you. It tells you that you are going to have time to do some fall projects but then that sumbitch throws 2 soccer games, 2 birthday parties, 2 ice skating practices at you and laughs.
I like what Fu said last night about using today's practice to get all the backups all the reps while letting the starters have a day off.
The BYE week lost to UVA this year.
I'm pretty sure it was a tie.
But at UVa, they call that a win.
You spelled moral victory wrong.
They think it's the same thing.
I thought they called it a cravat.
Cravat vs Ascot is LeSabre version of Cake vs Pie
Also their version of "What should I wear to the game this week?"

The bye week finds it hilarious that the USMNT didn't make the World Cup....oh wait that's just me I guess

There's always the WatchESPN app. But it's more like watching the game than working.
Chris Petersen likes cupcakes more than cake and pie
My body decided it was a good time for a bye week. 5 day weekend for appendectomy.
Good weekend to be on a bye so far with two top 10 teams going before Saturday.
Bye week doesn't care if you resurrect a year old thread
