Time to play with the new uniform

So, I've had this idea for a while now, but then the University decided to go and ditch the pylons logo for an RC car racetrack. But, now that we have a new uniform template to play with, I decided to do a rough photoshop layout of my idea. Anyone else want to play?

Sorry for the huge size...

So I am in the seeming minority of people on this site who for the most part couldn't care less about what uniforms look like, but wanted to say that I really like the look of the pylons on the sleeves.

Where is Michael Scott when you need him?

You win. That's awesome that you made the connection. Not sure I'd ever remember that.

fucking love that.

New Sigline: lol it's football season.

That may end up being terrible, but I'm very intrigued by putting the pylons on the sleeves. I love everything about the pylons and am very disappointed that it is no longer a part of our academic logo.

I could dig this if it were incorporated using texture/stitching in the jersey, or just a slightly darker shade of maroon. Maybe some VERY thin white trimming to accentuate it. So it would be a subtle detail you could only see if you were looking really close or zoomed in but wouldn't otherwise notice. Having the pylons be solid white or orange on a maroon jersey is just to high contrast and too distracting in my opinion (at least for the pylons being that size).

Couldn't find an example of exactly what I'm talking about but maybe this helps:
(I'm talking about the use below of a two-toned burgandy in this TA&M jersey. They did this for an overall pattern, I'm talking about doing that for the pylons or some other logo/design on the shoulders.)

I get what you're trying to do, but I don't think it translates well onto the uniform. Certainly not the shoulders. And it would look even worse on tv. PhantomJB93 hit the nail on the head above.

If you play it, they will win.

I think the pylons are recognizable and meaningful to VT students and grads but I'm not sure the same is true for the rest of the world.
