After a pretty disappointing game against an annoying coach, VT gets another game against an annoying coach this week. This time the spread is HUGE. I'm not so sure.
I'm adding Week 1's numbers as we speak, and will update this post with the table once I'm done. It looks like brickhaus and SpiderHokie are still leading, though VT Fencer is close.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18

Why would you do this to a perfectly good steak?
Texas at WVU (-3)
Factoid #1: Thanks to their loss in the opener against Maryland, Texas now has to win either this game or Texas Tech next week to be bowl eligible.
Factoid #2: WVU coach Dana Holgorsen said this week he doesn't care about turnovers. Can't say I've heard that one before.
PICK: Texas is desperate here, but WVU's the better team right now.
Michigan at Wisconsin (-7)

Factoid #1: In three years now, Jim Harbaugh has yet to finish a season with fewer than two conference losses.
Factoid #2: Wisconsin still isn't in the top 4 of the CFP. I wonder if they'd be passed over if Clemson beats Miami in the ACCCG.
PICK: Harbaugh has missed his window. While this line is pretty good overall, I'll take Wisconsin to cover.

TCU (-7) at Texas Tech
Factoid #1: TCU and Texas Tech are bringing back a rivalry trophy from the 1960's called the "Saddle Trophy" for this game.
Factoid #2: Last week, Texas Tech finally broke a 4-game losing streak thanks to Baylor. Sounds like Kliff Kingsbury may be on his way out in a couple of weeks.
PICK: I'm surprised this line is so close. TCU in a blowout.

This shows up as one of the first images if you Google Pat Narduzzi. Awesome
Pitt at VT (-16)
Factoid #1: Pitt actually lost to the MASH unit that is UNC last week.
Factoid #2: Last week's lost to GT is the 3rd in 4 years.
PICK: I really don't like this line. VT wins but doesn't cover.

Texas A&M at Ole Miss (-3)
Factoid #1: Texas A&M sounds like they may be going after Jimbo Fisher this offseason.
Factoid #2: Sounds like Ole Miss fans have Bobby Petrino on their list. You know, because when you're replacing a coach for committing possible infractions, he's the first guy you should call.
PICK: A&M has started their annual late-season Sumlin swoon. Ole Miss wins & covers.

UCLA at USC (-15)
Factoid #1: UCLA is a whopping 2-6 in their last 8 games against the spread.
Factoid #2: This is USC's final regular-season game. On November 18th. I'm guessing the Pac-12 wanted to give them a bye week before their anticipated title game appearance?
PICK: This is a massive line for a rivalry game. UCLA covers it.

California at Stanford (-16)
Factoid #1: Cal has lost 5 of their last 7 games, with the wins coming against Oregon State (expected) and Washington State (?)
Factoid #2: Stanford has won 6 of their last 7.
PICK: It's pretty obvious these two teams are headed in opposite directions. Stanford has had a few odd ones this year, but they need to beat Cal to stay in the Pac-12 North hunt. They'll pummel Cal.

Presented without comment
Utah at Washington (-17)
Factoid #1: Utah has lost 4 of the last 5, with Kyle Whittingham now reaching the Acceptance phase.
Factoid #2: Washington is where UVA was last week; not technically eliminated from the division, but pretty much done.
PICK: Utah has packed it in for the year. Even with a HUGE line, Washington covers.
DRINK OF THE WEEK:

One of the biggest adventures involved in hosting a party (like, say, Halloween) is drinking the stuff people brought over and left. A standard on-the-way pickup is the variety pack of beers & ciders. These are usually things that were made in a small batch that the brewery thinks wouldn't sell on their own.
This is one of them. Somebody left a variety 12-pack of Angry Orchard over here, and I've been gradually working my way through them. This one was the weirdest. Why was this made? If I wanted the flavor of hops, I could just drink any number of IPA's that, you know, actually taste good.
Remember, we're making our picks on CBSSports.com (LINKY HERE), though feel free to let everybody know what the correct answers will be in the comments.

Comments
"I think the wheels have come off for this team"
Sobs uncontrollably
Michigan State (+15) ... 2+ TDs, gimme some of that
Oklahoma State (-6) ... by a touchdown, but i don't feel great about this
VT (-3) ... I think this will be a push, but nothing will surprise me. The D will need to tackle better and get 3 and outs so the DL can rest
Iowa (+12) ... Iowa can D up, will be low scoring
Georgia (-2) ... Auburn will get smashed, shut down on O
Alabama (-14) ... bama had an ok week last week .. this week they rebound
Notre Dame (-3) ... ND will do what VT couldn't run the damn ball and with the weather going to be in the mid 30s, good luck with that south florida bros
TCU (+6) ... the Horned Frogs are the only team in the B12 to D up
BotW

Will be at Lake Anna all weekend with a lot of RVA beers, including "I Like Turtles" by the Answer Brewpub a collaborative imperial stout with Bottle Logic Brewing. Labeled as silky, velvety stout with caramel & southern pecan coffee and toasted coconut.
TotW

OU as a toss-up game
Will be poppin' this open for the early kickoff!

Never attribute to skill what can be attributed to dumb luck.
I always look forward to your picks.
Another leg for the good man.
Ohio State - because MSU is the real team whose wheels have fallen off
Iowa State - Okie St won't cover +6
VT - why the hell not
Iowa - Whiskey is good but won't cover +12
Auburn - I'm with you, they pull the upset at home
ND - Miami sux
TCU - hoping for a 2-loss Big 12 champion
BotW: Foothills Cottonwood - if you like pumpkin/spiced ales, this is the winner.
TSL is

Dumb question. Does the first week not count in the final standings since we didn't have the CBS Sports group up and running in time, or will that be figured in in the end? I honestly have no recollection of how I did that week.
Yeah those count. I haven't figured out how to add them into the scoring, though. CBSSports doesn't seem to have an option like that. I'll post them here later today via a Google Drive link or something.
you can export the CBSSports results to excel if you want to combine it all, but obviously that's less useful until the end of the season since you'd have to do some work to format it right after each week.
I'm thinking about doing just that, exporting CBSSports standings, adding Week 1 scores, and posting them here. Those who have different TKP handles than their CBSSports one just won't get points for the first week unless I can resolve them easily.
Mich St
Iowa St
VT
Wiscy
Auburn, outright
Bammer
Notre Dame. I think I need a shower picking either one for this...
Oklahoma
Going with this for Saturday. Bunch of others for tonight and tomorrow...but this Hop Hands is for Saturday.
