Doesn't feel like the season is coming to a close already. Some big matchups this weekend!
In other news, UNC just returned the opening kick for a TD against Pitt.

Lots of great games this weekend.
Oklahoma State and Iowa State
Michigan State and OSU
Georgia and Auburn
Iowa and Wisconsin
TCU and Oklahoma
ND and Miami
And so many more.
Pitt has given up more points to UNC in half a quarter than we did all game
That Pitt (-10) line isn't looking so hot...
Who is this UNC QB? How many do they have taking snaps?
More than the average P5 team less than UMD although their returner/wideout threw 3 against Miami
Pitts jet sweep looks fast
Has anyone ever returned a kick for a TD and thrown for a TD in the same game? UNC kid may be the first
I'm not saying he did, but that seems like something Christian McCafrey would do
just saw an ESPN Stats and Info tweet about this, Saquon Barkley did it earlier this year
This is Wisconsins toughest matchup. I would hate seeing Iowa on the schedule from year to year.
Pitts QB can scramble fairly well.
Dazz with some shiftiness...
Really wish Tech had landed him. I know people think the coaches went after him late and all but damn.
I'm more and more worried about this Pitt team.
I am getting less worried. Timmy and Ricky are going to murder Pitt's QB.
Savage.
No, he's in Houston now.
π
Ruining the fantasy value of Will Fuller.
I thought the refs were enforcing the coaches on the field penalty. Nardouche keeps going on the field to complain about calls.
Shame UNCheat and PITTstain both couldn't lose.
So now we just need Miami to lose to LOLUVA and we'll have the ACC circle of suck!
No no no no no I don't want LOLUVA anywhere near a Coastal championship.
we have something to say about that. All they need to do is lose one game to not win the coastal (and to come behind us in the standings). So if we win out, LOLUVa does not win the division. So they might as well hand Miami another loss on the way.
We still need a few other outcomes. Right now, Duke's only ACC win is over UNC, and UNC's only win in over Pitt, and Pitt's only wins are over Duke and UVA.Therefore, the circle must start with Duke > UNC > Pitt > UVA. We don't have enough games in the division yet to get the circle back to Duke. That previous comment was written prior to the Techmo Bowl.
Right now, we have Miami > GT > VT > Duke > UNC > Pitt > UVA. So yes, a UVA win over Miami would complete the ACC Coastal Circle of Suck.
And that's just the divisional circle.
For the entire ACC, it's hard to get NC State to fit in, since NC State and VT are the only two teams to fit under Clemson. Plus, by the time the circle starts trying to cycle back to Duke, it's mostly Atlantic teams.
Yes the unc team did beat Pitt last night, you're not waking up in a different dimension
I don't much care for Miami
HE DOESN'T CARE FOR MIAMI
This Dartmouth game in Fenway is very cool looking.
I'm not sold on Bryce Love as a serious Heisman candidate. He's the benefactor (and victim) of being the only good skill player on an otherwise good football team. I think every team Stanford plays probably has a player or two on his level; Pettus and Gaskin are his UW equivalent.
Another top ten team goes down.
and the pac12 is eliminated from playoff contention.
Most likely but can Oklahoma stay out of trouble?
Notre Dame? Miami...every one beat up on each other, maybe we can still make the playoffs
maybe we can still make the playoffs
Don't do this to yourself.
I want upsets...I will not pull for any team that I hate...I am chaos!
I understand now. The entire Miami football program is just compensating for that tiny cannon.
Miami GameDay Sign game skrong
Our best hope is for both Clemson and Miami to make the playoff. Then we get the Orange Bowl.
If you're looking at Orange Bowl, then our best hope is for Miami to lose out. But then there's also a decent chance we could be playing the loser of the SEC championship game.
The only scenario where I see Clemson and Miami both getting into the playoff would also involve Georgia and Alabama both getting into the playoff. Even if the bottom drops out of the entirety of college football over the next three weeks, I don't see the committee facing that kind of shitstorm.
I just think it's more likely that they both make the playoff than that Miami loses out. Neither is very likely.
Seeing A-Rod as guest picker on GameDay leads me to believe that working at Fox had nothing to do with Michael VIck not being a guest picker.
They couldn't find an actual person who went to school there?
The Rock was busy.
UVA is looking pedestrian against a bad Louisville team. Benkert just fumbled while being arm tackled on 3rd and 20. It's easy to worry about that game right now, but UVA is the worst bowl eligible team in the P5 by a mile. Only Kentucky comes close.
I keep double taking the TV when I hear a highlight about Josh Jackson in the Wisconsin Iowa game.
UGA about to get blown out.
About?
UGA getting handled.
Would just as soon see ND smash Miami tonight. It's a shame for VT because the way this season has gone there would have been a rea opportunity if they could have beat a good team or two
Wow... FSU just ran a double reverse flea flicker for a 60 yard TD
Umm... If you're not watching, FSU is down 3 having scored 14 straight and just forced a fumble in Clemson territory 6 mins left
Hahahahaha INT on the next play returned to the FSU 40
Blackman has a remarkable knack for terrible decisions at the worst time. He has the most freshmanesque demeanor too. Always slouching and shrugging at Jimbo while he gets an earful.
Miss St is punching Bama in the mouth right now.
Seems the fair weather agrees with fans in Miami tonight...
Berrios looks like the love child of Ryan Gosling and Seth Green.
Y'all.
Miami might be bak.
Your move, Irish.

Richt was such a perfect fit for them and I hate it because I was always a fan of him.
Miami is riding high right now. Not sure we did so bad against them. ND is getting slammed.
We may be about to watch the #3 team in the country get run plumb out of the building.
Know how the BC win looks way better now? The Miami loss may have been a lot better than it could have been.
I'll say it...the U is back. I'm not happy about it, but they're lights out good right now. Wish Lane could sound that loud on tv.
*whispers* - "ND can't stop the QB run either"
No one can. Even Alabama has been torched by dual threat QBs recently. It just becomes simple mathematics at a certain point.
Maybe they should hire Comment Score.
If our only losses had been to Clemson and Miami I could live with that, they have good coaches and out recruit us but Ga Tech just kills me. I hope we can get to 9 wins this regular season at least but offense just looks weak and Narduzzi is a defense minded coach. Miami has a solid recruiting class coming in too. At RB, TE, and WR they will have talent along with OL and the defense is just nasty. Wish we could recruit like Miami, FSU, and Clemson.
Narduzzi is a defense minded coach without a defense. Pitt lost to North Carolina last week. I know everyone's on edge, but this one's winnable.
GT has won 3 of last 4 and 4 of last 9. It's not like losing to them is suddenly new.
I'm not sure how good Miami is or isn't, but Notre Dame looks awful.
Had to turn off the Miami game once they went up 17-0, a lot can happen but football isn't really enjoyable today. Da U is back...which makes the way we looked today even worse.
When is the last time 1, 2, and 3 lost the same day?
1966 in bowl games.
I think you need to use that rich rod response gif on yourself for emedding a HD tweet...
So Miami might be good? Who the hell is the top ten of all scores as of now hold up?
Miami is good. I hate that.
I don't care if they're our rivals. The Turnover Chain is dope. Major props to whoever came up with it. It's perfect motivation and its a perfect cultural fit as well. I'm very jealous.
Good to see Butch Jones will be leaving the Tennessee program pretty much exactly how he found it.
UT 17 - 50 MIZZOU 6:30 4th
Butch pushing hard to be the first coach fired mid-game.
Savage
Let me say that I have no problem with Miami kicking Notre Dame in the teeth tonight.
A lot of folks aren't happy about it, but Miami being relevant is the best thing that could happen to our division and conference. Short of VT being perennial champions, of course.
^This. I hate everything about Miami, but we need that annual measuring stick game against an elite team. In past years we would run through ACC play against weak teams not knowing if we were truly great and then proceed to get our ass kicked in a major bowl.
You two have very valid points, but I don't care one way or the other about Miami being bak.
I just want the Notre Dame love-fest to stop.
This pregame speech aged well.
This Miami defense absolutely swarms. High-end athletes at all levels. Dripping with swag. Hate the chain so much. But. Love the chain so much.
Not sure they can beat Clemson, but if I were Dabo I'd be much less excited about facing them after tonight.
PS - Name the greatest Notre Dame quarterback of the last 40 years. (From what I can recall, your choices are DeShone Kizer, Brady Quinn, Tony Rice and Steve Beuerlein.)
I was gonna say Joe Montana, but I don't know if his stats hold up.
I specifically made the cutoff at Joe Montana.
His stats are pretty decent, but dude was just a pure winner. 3rd on the depth chart going into '77, and he only got into the Purdue game because Dan Devine yanked the starter and the backup got injured (and never played football again - not-so-fun fact). They came back to win, and never lost again. Blew out #1 Texas 38-10 in the Cotton Bowl. Natty. Legend born. Won another Cotton, top-10 ranking in '78. 3rd round draft pick. You know the rest...
Probably should have specified that I was thinking about college plus pro careers. Which is why I'm so shocked that since Montana, those guys are the best choices.
Clemson hasn't looked impressive since September. I agree that they might not be able to beat Clemson, but Miami looked significantly more impressive tonight.
If Oklahoma gets their defense to play adequately like tonight, they are a very dangerous team. On a similar note, Miss St had a brilliant game plan to play keep away from Alabama, dominated the field position battle all night, and converted multiple clutch third downs, and it still wasn't enough. Hurts looked poised on those last two TD drives and as Hurts continues to grow as a passer, Alabama gets more and more dangerous. On the flipside, their replacement linebackers from all the injuries got attacked and every team will likely do the same, though I think I heard Alabama might get a few of those injured guys back by end of the season. If they don't, Auburn has some hope if they can attack those linebackers (Moses, he's just so young, and Holcombe) in a similar fashion.
Fast, they looked fast, really, really fast. At one point Herbstreit said what I was thinking. "It looks like they're playing with 15 guys on the field". One particular option play there was a guy or two with the qb and when he pitched there were three guys gang tackling the back. Fast. They were extremely fast.
Well, at least I take solace in the fact that LOLUVA lost.
I kinda love Miami right now.
At this point I want Miami to win the national championship just to watch Georgia's fanbase implode.
While it would suck for us to see Miami win a natty, you are correct that Jawja fans would absolutely lose their minds if Richt did it at Miami
Can confirm that this would happen.
I like Miami being this good, because it forces us to have to adjust to meet our goals. We can't keep skating by with lesser recruiting hoping everyone around us fails and allows us to come out on top of the mountain by default. Clemson and FSU have been big road blocks in the Atlantic, but we kept telling ourselves that, hey just win the Coastal and who knows what will happen. Well, now we have a legitimate Top 5 program in the Coastal that recruits to a level that ensures they aren't going away anytime soon.
We keep saying we want to win Division, Conference, and National titles, but we have never truly grasped how difficult doing these things should be. We had it easy in our run in the years directly after ACC Expansion, and the days of that kind of ease are over. If we want to meet those goals, we have to legitimately start acting like one of those programs.
Right now, we are a Tier 2 team in our own division. Its time to see if Babcock and Fuente deem that acceptable.
