UVA making Bronco look like a genius

Wow, seriously. ESPN now has a turnover chain graphic saying "turnover chain recipient" for whenever a Miami player gets the chain. Hilarious.

They had this for our game.

I hate Miami.

The turnover chain doesn't bother me that much, it is so Miami. It's the way ESPN makes such a big deal about it, like its the freakin' Heisman.

hoo sucks cc now tied against turnover chain u

That and UVA's defense has been solid so far.

Miami fans deserve to lose. The attendance at this game is shameful.

(Not exactly lighting it up in Blacksburg today either, incidentally.)

UVA just blocked a punt.

Benkert. Dimes.

UVA played tough and has nothing to be ashamed of.

Yeah, I'm really proud of them... WAIT, NO! What is wrong with you?

LOLUVa has a lot to be ashamed of. Maybe not in this game, but across the board? Hell yeah. All sorts of shame.

I don't remember Notre Dame recruiting this many kids named Rockne. I'm sure I would have heard about this...

Kentucky has a winning record what the heck?
Also watched a bit of the Miami game and honestly I'm worried after today away from home we've been trash

The unconfirmed rumor is that it's Jim Harbaugh's son. No kid should be that upset over a football game.

Can anyone explain why Harbaugh is the highest paid college football coach? What has he done while at Michigan.

Can anyone explain how we lost to a team like GT? UT, LOLUVA, and, soon, Duke have all been able to beat them be we couldn't? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

For some reason our defense always plays like shit against them. And, our offense was a no-show last week which has been a continued theme for the past few weeks. We've had a few head scratchers under Fuente, but the two GT losses have to be some of the biggest ones.

Save three plays....albeit big ones.....our defense kept GT to under 200 yds. That played great minus those three plays which either scored or led to a score.

The issue in that game was our offense.

Most of those games were pretty close, either way. Tennessee and Miami beat them by one point. UVa won by four points. VT lost to them by six points.

I'd call most of those a tossup. Every team has to mod their game plan specifically for Georgia Tech.

Yeah well Duke is taking them behind the woodshed. GT is scoreless in the second half with under 3min remaining and Duke is still driving.

We haven't had good efforts from guys in certain key positions recently. That's why we lost to GT and had the game like we did against Pitt

Talks that shit and then proceeds to stuff it down your throat. Call me crazy but I love it.

Me too, man.

USC might have had the easiest punt return for a TD ever. The only UCLA player who knew where the ball was punter.

This was actually really brilliant. That the 'primary' punt returner just mocks the UCLA player makes my day.

That was really clever. They clearly had planned for something like that happening at some point. Don't the special teams know who the punter is punting to?

Every special teams needs to be aware of that kind of fake.

Wake wins! Orange bowl hopes still alive

Here lies It's a Stroman Jersey I Swear, surpassed in life by no one because he intercepted it.

Well that Wake win over the wLOLfpack should change up the bowl seedings a bit

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Yeah kind of makes us a lock for the Citrus Bowl if we win next week (if the ACC has the slot available). Winner of ACCG game will make playoff, loser will go to Orange Bowl.

If Oklahoma loses and Miami loses a close one then I think there is a small chance a 10-1 Miami team gets the 4 seed

The Big 12 has some interesting title game clinching scenarios going on.

Oklahoma (7-1) is already in.

If TCU (6-2) wins on Friday, they're in.

There are 4 teams with a conference record of 5-3: Oklahoma State, WVU, Texas, and Iowa State.

Oklahoma State and Texas are out because they don't have enough tiebreakers.

I just looked at the scenarios, and if TCU loses and any of the other teams win, TCU still goes to the title game due to tiebreakers in all but four scenarios. In three of those scenarios, Iowa State clinches due to their wins over TCU and Oklahoma. (The next tiebreaker after head-to-head among the group is basically seeing who, if anyone, beat the best team in the conference.) The fourth scenario has WVU clinching a spot, since it would involve them beating Oklahoma next week, and then having the head-to-head over Iowa State. But they can only get there if they force a three way tie, which means Texas and OK State have to lose as well.

Now, that would be funny, because it would be some weird tiebreaker Wheel of Destiny crap, but also, the Big 12 title game would be an exact rematch of a week 13 game -- which is what they were trying to avoid when they moved Bedlam!

(and now I really hope I read the tiebreakers right this late at night...)

You know if Miami beats Pitt next week they might be able to make the playoff even if they lose the ACCCG to Clemson.

It will all come down to the Iron Bowl, the Big 12 CG, and the B1G CG.

If Clemson wins the ACCCG, they are in.

If Wisconsin wins their conference championship then they are in with the CG being their only good win.

The real chaos begins if Auburn beats Alabama and wins the SEC championship and Oklahoma loses their CG. I could see the committee wanting to put Auburn in the CFP as SEC champ with two wins against teams ranked #1.

That leaves a 1-loss Miami with a beatdown of then highly ranked ND versus a 1-loss 'Bama team that would have 0 wins over a top ranked team. Do you trust the committee to pick Miami over 'Bama? I don't.

Now, if Wisky loses their CG, Oklahoma loses their CG, Auburn beats 'Bama and wins their CG, and Miami loses a close game to Clemson in the ACCCG, then you could easily make the case for a CFP of Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, and Miami (not necessarily in that order), much to the chagrin of B1G and Big 12 fans. The PAC12 doesn't really have a dog in this fight.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"
-gobble gobble chumps

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

Yep, agreed with the UGA caveat. There look to be a few teams that totally control their own destiny. If any of these teams win out, they are in:

ACC: Miami and Clemson
Big Ten: Wisconsin
Big 12: Oklahoma
SEC: Alabama, UGA, Auburn
PAC 12: Like you said, not really

Teams that could lose one and still get in are probably only Alabama and Miami.

Ohio State is on the list of teams that don't control their own destiny but could slide in, with their current ranking and a wins over Wisconsin and Michigan pending. They are currently 8, but have Wisconsin above them as well as Auburn and UGA. If Alabama wins out, Auburn then has 3 losses and UGA has 2. Those are three teams that OSU would hop over. If Miami also beats Clemson, then OSU might hop Clemson too. That would put them at 4 with Alabama, OK, and Miami above them.

There's also the unlikely possibility of total chaos that could bring a 2-loss USCw (with only the PAC12CG left for them against a good but undetermined opponent but might allow them to avenge their loss to WSU) or TCU (who will get NO credit for beating Baylor next week but could avenge a loss to OK in the Big12CG) into the mix.

UCF is undefeated and still gets a top-25 USF next week as well as a make up game against top-20 Memphis but will finish the season with fewer games than everyone else due to hurricane cancellations. No real chance here I don't think.

Jeez this is fun.

UCF vs. Memphis isn't a make up game, it's the conference championship.

(UCF is Memphis' lone loss.)

Oh dang you're right! I saw their game had been postponed but didn't read the whole schedule after that.

You almost gotta feel bad for NC state last night. Driving the whole field to take the lead and then fumble on the 11 yard line to lose it. Shades of our drive against Miami at the end of the 1st half.
