Haven't seen anything official but multiple tweets that Savoy is out for the game with a hamstring injury.
So out:
Savoy
Mihota
Edmunds
Questionable:
Carrol
Peoples
Reynolds
Official report released from school.

No Savoy on there which is great but with Hewitt and Mihota the depth at DT is a struggle.

Well crap.

Looking squarely into the eyes of Eric Kumah and Phil Patterson, imploring them to give UVa a reason not to load the box.
If we aren't at least a little bit multiple in our offensive scheme it could spell trouble...
Damnittttttttttttt.

Next man up, LET'S GO!!!
Savoy not on the injury report.

Well even if something ends up being wrong with Savoy it's good to see C.J. listed as probable. Hopefully after so much time off he won't be too rusty.
CJ has been out forever. I never heard what happened to him.
EDIT: Foot
Guess we'll just have to break out these formations!

That's funny because Virginia Tech
Perhaps next time, you should wait for the official injury report before posting that someone is out. Or maybe imbed one or two of the "multiple tweets" that are saying said player is out so we can judge the credibility of your sources. Or don't format part of your post to look like the injury report.
If I'm going to post the official injury report I would post it, thus why I said nothing official. And then when the official report came out I posted it. I also can't embed tweets from accounts that are private.
I also don't buy the injury report. Questionable injuries have been out for weeks
Injuries linger.
Yes, but the medical staff knows the difference between a questionable injury and something more long term.
Fuente is very secretive about injuries (rightfully so) and does not like to share too much. It would not surprise me if Savoy is out on Fri night and they didn't add him to he injury list. Just gives U A something more to plan for
So next time should I keep known injury or other information to myself or how can I post it that won't offend people?
Yup. Pretty much. Yeah.
Having CJ back would be a nice boost. He made a few clutch catches early in the season.
I wonder how much CJ and Peoples have been practicing, and if they're worked (significantly) into the game plan.
If the past is any indication, I doubt we will see anyone on any of those lists play. Would not surprise me a bit to find out a few others also don't see the filed because of injuries that are not on here. The only part of those lists that seems accurate is the out for the season part. Is Slye back?
Why move CJ Carroll from out to probable if it doesn't mean anything?
It's all gamesmanship. Over the Fuente era, the only reliable thing on the injury report is who is out for the season.
If Fuente is keeping mum about it, I would, too. Not that I think the UVa coaches are consulting TKP, but why collate information that could potentially be helpful to other teams?
That's the way I see it, anyway.
Whaaa?
I agree with French's line of reasoning here. If an opposing DC needs his reviews then they're already in bigger trouble. Just as if opposing coach is relying on Fireman's post about injury reports then they're in already in deep shit.
I'm not talking about French's reviews, I'm talking about injury rumors. I want the other team in deep shit, and preparing for the wrong thing. I'm guessing they get their intel from anywhere they can find it. I know I would be, and a day or two notice may well make a difference. Why make it easier for the other team's prep?
That's why Fuente is mum, and is right to be.
It's just my opinion, though, and I certainly don't expect fans not to talk about this kind of thing. Maybe just don't get too good at it, or dependable.
The ACC requires each team to make an official, public injury list available by Thursday of game week. Any opposing coach who plans for a player to be out based on rumors on a forum for the opposing team is foolish. Plan for an opponent's best players to be on the field unless confirmed otherwise.
I don't disagree with anything you said. It would surely be foolish to bet a team's game plan on a rumor, and I'm certain they don't do that.
I'd be surprised, though, if coaches aren't paying attention to injuries, or even potential injuries, as much as we are.
NCAA coaches have limited time with the team and I'd be using it to implement mh own game plan and prepare for the opposition's scheme. If you waste it focusing on injury based rumors, like whether or not Savoy will play when we're going to be playing some player in that position, it would be extremely foolish.
I think you guys are reading more into the comment than intended.
I do believe all available information is considered. Do they rip up their game plan? Nope. Do they try and find and exploit weaknesses, including particular players? Yup.
Just as an add on because I like considering the hypotheticals. How much does knowing X,Y or Z player is out completely change a game plan. At this level I don't think you can completely ignore any aspect of the opposing team with respect to practice. That can certainly happen during a game if evidence suggests a part of the offense is a non-factor. I am more worried about what Delaware and Clemson did on defense (more so Delaware as Clemson is an elite team). They found a schematic weakness in our execution and exploited to great effect regardless of the players on the field. I think a good game by either of Kumah and/or Patterson could really lift this offense off the ground and change the dynamic dramatically.
So with the rumors of Savoy being out and possibly Carroll back, I go with Cam and Carroll in the slot and Kumah and Patterson on the outside.
Cam needs the ball in his hands a lot tonight and I think he will get that opportunity taking 10 yard passes and making guys miss.
Anybody ever get any hard knowledge on what Jackson's injury is?
He looked like he was having trouble with his none throwing shoulder during the game after a qb run up the middle.
I'm hearing rumor he's got a different injury incurred during GT game.
It's just that, rumor. Might give reason for the overthrows.
I heard that Stroman will be out next game. His middle finger is cramping due to being continuously extended towards the LOLUVA bench yesterday
