Edmundi are both Currently Undecided on NFL Draft Jump

Terrell and Tremaine are still contemplating their options with regards to their NFL futures.

I would love to see them both get high draft grades and actually get drafted where the projections say. If they are going to be late round picks, they should stay in school. Terrell has graduated, so him leaving is understandable regardless of his draft projection. Tremaine should stay vs. getting drafted in the 6-7th round like Bucky and Isaiah did last year. IIRC both of those guys were "projected" higher than that.

can we hold off until after the bowl game for making this kind of assessment? We need to see how much they crap the bed against OSU first. /s

I realise your post is sarcasm... but Terrell is not playing, so there's that.. and I hope the NFL scouts would evaluate Tremaine's actual performance in the bowl game, as opposed to ignoring his film in favor of the number of first downs the VT offense gets.

I just want them to be successful. If they go I will root for them loudly. If they stay, I hope that it results in a leap which allows them to dominate at the next level sooner.

.
edit: If either goes to the fucking Patriots I will root for them quietly.

Can't fault either of them for leaving if that is what they decide, but given Terrell's struggles with blowing coverages/getting beat in coverage this year + his injury, I'm hoping he decides to stay. If he does indeed stay, I am hoping he can convince Tremaine to stay and play with him for one more year. Either way, best of luck to the both of them in whatever they decide to do.

I just want to compliment the official pluralization of "Edmunds."

Best of luck to the both of them, whatever they decide

I think we can dig deeper. Is "Edmunds" of greek or latin origin?

I actually pronounced Edmundi the Italian way (ed-moon-dee) before I saw the context of the word. And Italian = Latin so I would say it's Latin

Here lies It's a Stroman Jersey I Swear, surpassed in life by no one because he intercepted it.

Boom, good job.

I heard it's actually pronounced "Kevin"

neither. Edmundus would make it greak or latin.

I'd love to see them stay. The def could be nasty with everyone staying

I'll be ecstatic if they come back, but won't blame them if they go. Especially, Tremaine. He ain't got nothing more to prove. I think Terrell could boost his stock if he comes back, heals up and has good year.

If you play it, they will win.

Luckily with a son just finishing his first season in the NFL, a father who played in the league, NFL draft scores and an experienced college coaching staff, the Edmunds family is as well positioned to make this decision as anyone ever to play for VT.

I could see them staying because Tremaine is young, needs his degree and Terrell is hurt and may go UDFA. I could see them going because Tremaine is projected as a 1st rounder and because Terrell's draft stock may not improve in a year.

Either way, I understand their thinking. And they have a lot more info to make this decision than I do.

I"ll just plop this right here.

If reality is within +- 20 picks of that,. he should go to the NFL.

Here is the thing....projections are a crap shoot

Agree, thus the 20 pick cushion.. If he is a first or even mid-late second round projection, and his prognosticator is better than Isaiah Ford's, then he should declare- no doubt.

I hear ya, but he doesn't even know that. That's the gamble for these kids. Some players just drop. I know that Tremaine is a freak of an athlete, but I think he could be a sure thing first rounder if he stays one more year. He's still young and can develop a little bit more. Terrell's shoulder injury makes me think he'll be back.

I've read (I don't remember where) that the parents have said that both should stay in school for another year. Having one kid in the pros already, a father that played in the NFL, and a mom that wants both kids to get their degrees will hopefully give us one more year with these two on defense.

You better plop that right back where it came from!

No anywhere but there!

I hope they both get high draft grades and end up being taken early. This is college ball. It's the coaches job to keep new talent coming in and to make the best use of it while they can. In the long run, it's much better for our program to be putting guys into the league than to squeeze another season out of them when it is in their best interest to leave.

This is a very good take that I missed earlier. The down-the-line recruiting implications of having guys leave early and get drafted in the early rounds probably have just as much if not more of a positive impact on the overall direction of the program than does getting one more year out of their talents. It would be different to me if I thought they were the difference in making the playoff or not, but I don't think were quite there yet. I hope they leave early and reap the rewards of their talents, while also positively showcasing our program's ability to get guys to the next level.

I think Tremaine, if he tests as well as we think at the combine, could be a 1st round selection. Terrell I think the NFL this year would shy on him with the injury and how he was burned a few times so I think he could improve his draft stock by coming back. But I definitely agree that we need some highly drafted players to showcase to future recruits.

1-0 every week

I've done a little research across the mock draft sites and both Edmunds aren't ranked very high in their respective position. No higher than 5th best. After last year I hope the coaching staff points to that outcome as a reminder that choosing to go early can backfire at times. I just wish these kids had better guidance in this particular decision making process because the scouts are doing them a huge disservice.

Is Edmundus singular for a destructive force?

You mean about the time when Foster was leaving for A&M? /S

Damn it, 07. I had almost wiped that dumpster fire thread from my memory.

I have seen a number of Terrell tweets that seem to bring finality to his time at VT. Especially his tweets about finishing his degree. I took it that he was gone.

"Next year gonna be ya movie year 🎥🤐" This was replying to Hazelton.

"Finally done ‼️ 3.5 solid years of work, it's truly been a blessing 🙏🏾 can't express how much of a relief i feel now that I'm done, thank you to everyone who helped and supported me on my journey 💪🏾 finally a graduate 👨🏾‍🎓😎"

These are a couple of tweets that I took one way and someone else might see another.

Are they both doing the same thing? Like staying together or leaving together? Because I feel like a certain one should stay and another certain one should go pro

Or they BOTH should stay and be the Bash Brothers.....

If I was not still boycotting the NFL I would say da Raiders need all kinds of help on Defense...
