LOL at the Sporting News picture... this is why it's a bad idea to make sweeping generalizations without understanding all the circumstances (like Loeffler's tenure at Auburn). And really, the ACC's best coach is Larry Fedora?!? He's certainly a very good coach, but that's quite the bold statement.
Obviously, 5 games into the season isn't the entire story either, but they are looking pretty foolish at the moment.

I don't know if anyone has it, but I remember seeing a "Welcome to Hokie Country" with the North Carolina outline the year we beat all of their football teams.

Claiming to be the Coastal champions last year is like having someone else write your thesis paper in which the only contributions you have to make involve removing words and sentences that no one believes you could write, and then taking credit for it....
..wait....there's... a trend here.

This is a good reason everyone in the acc should hate unc. I sincerely hope they finish at the very bottom of the league. Especially after losing to ecu, I hope they lose every conf game this year.

It is too easy to imagine a dialog like the one below taking place before the making of this video.
"Shut up Ma, I'm making my videos. I'm important, people want to know what I think. If you can't shut up, I'm going outside...That's it, I'm going outside. You don't understand how important I am. I hate you."
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
"We got f*ckin beat by ECU." Correction....you got destroyed by ECU. Not some last minute gimmick play or break in coverage. You had 600 yards put up on offense. Their QB had six touchdowns, three of them from the ground. Don't try and church it up.

I hate myself a little for reading through the comments on that video, but this one is pure gold:
Hokie fans are down this year, there were none at game last week so enter sandman satin theory probably won't happen, you guys got to get this one
I don't know much about sandman satin theory, but there was definitely a small crowd at the last game by VT home game standards. Whether this had anything to do with the game being in Atlanta or not...*shrugs* who knows, it's impossible to say for sure.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
And even though it was in the ATL, I do recall hearing a pretty good "LETS GO....HO-KIES!" from the crowd on television. Pretty impressive for an away game.

This guy has fewer than 200 views on all of his videos. Where did you find him? And most of the comments are from people on other teams telling him he sucks, so I can't imagine even half of his views come from UNC fans

Apparently, the only shot we have at winning Saturday is if:
Enter Sandman gets played
Fans jump high enough to create a earthquake that splits the earth in two
Satan himself rises up and snatches all of the UNC football players on the field
I think there's actually fairly good chance of this happening?
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I want to read the script/notes he put together before getting on camera to ramble...not drunkenly, but like a4 year old attempting to tell a joke that, you realize 2 minutes in, has NO punchline. Because a 4 year old has no concept of a punchline. Like this kid had no concept of a point.
All I got is that Logan Thomas does inappropriate things that make him bad at football and is tall. And our fans jump too hard. Also, although UNC MAY have lost to ECU, we SHOULD have lost and therefore (transitive property) UNC is going to kick our asses.
Well, shit guys, I'm not going to bother watching the game now. Who wants to watch us get our tails pounded, right?

This kid is great. Every pre game is complete dumpster heave of empty threats. Best part is the crow segments. I do like how we got beat so bad by Bama, but yet their loss to ECU not so bad. He does look like he wants to cry after the ECU game lol

Just hope the team doesn't go all 2012 Pittsburg game this weekend. Right now, UNC is that soaking wet, madder than hell cat that fell into the bathtub. They're going to bring it on Sat. Hokies need to punch them in the face at 15:00 1st quarter.

I have looked forward to this game for some time.
Being beaten by UNC in football upsets the space-time continuum greatly and it is up to the Hokies to set it right again.

I am reading this thread and others and I think I need to say this, as unpopular as it might be:
Let's not forget, folks, that two weeks ago we didn't think we should be able to beat anyone. Our offense wasn't clicking, the defense was saving our lives, special teams hadn't show they could be special at all. While we were 3-1 before the GT game, the season wasn't looking good. GT looked like a major challenge, UNC still looked to be pretty strong, and we were mostly predicting a rebuilding year.
Now, I think we're getting a little cocky. I know in my office pick 'em, everyone took VT over the Heels. We had a pretty good game on offense against GT, but it was one game and we can't tell yet if this is Loeffler's offense beginning to take off or if it was an above average game.
I don't like UNC all that much, but I'll root for them depending on the opponent. They didn't look good against ECU but they held their own against a GT team that we had trouble putting away. I think this game should be setting off alarms in our heads more than it seems to be doing, and I think we should temper expectations a little. We still have a long way to go before we prove we're consistent enough to think of this weekend as a W.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I'm with you. Are we capable of beating UNC? Yes. Should we beat them? Most likely. None of that matters come Saturday, though. I hope the team is mindful of that (based on recent reporting, I'd say this is the case) and works their tails off to prepare and execute their game plan. Not too long ago, UNC was akin to Duke - it was a guaranteed win for us. Not so much any more, even if they are struggling more than anyone anticipated this year. I have a feeling they're going to come at us like a caged animal this weekend. 1-3 is not sitting well with them.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Fair.
Our offense is suspect, still-I would like to see a successful rushing attack/ball control against unc.
Also, their offense is potentially dangerous.
BUT, in my mind, we owe them, BIG.
And the interviews I have watched from Gray, Wiles, etc, including Beamer confirms my feelings: as embarrassed as I was last year, the coaches were even more so.....I somehow expect a concerted effort on this one.
unc needs a VT beat down in the worst way. We don't need Fedora to start feeling all Walt Harris on us.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
UNC has yet to show me that they can play a complete game. They beat MTSU...woo. They had a great first half against GT and that was it. They were never in the game against USCe due to them running from Clowney all night instead of playing their game. Now we expect Renner (who is currently battling a nagging injury) to stand fearless against Gayle, Collins, Dadi, Tyrell, MANBEARPIG, and Maddy? I have slightly raised expectations for our offense, but I know that as long as we can get a few points on the board, we have a defense that can keep their team from scoring. The only player on their team that worries me is Ebron, but he can't make every play.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I see what you're saying, but we still need to fear the spread teams, with the offense doing what it does. Foster's scheme will slow down a good spread team...but a good spread team, aka - Marshall is still capable of scoring 20 pts on this D. The Hokies have yet to score 20 pts in regulation against FBS competition this year. That could be a problem.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yeah any spread team with an intelligent coach can cause problems for just about anyone. We have the personnel on defense to contain, but I still feel like we should eat a bit of humble pie. Myself very much included
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Have to agree. Seems that every time we start thinking we are going to win something comes and bites us in the butt. This team has to stay hungry and play with a chip on their shoulders. I kind of believe that this game will set the tone for the rest of the season; are we going to start playing like we did last year and expect to win just because we showed up, or play with the attitude of 'I don't care who you are or what you expect, but I'm ramming this game down your throat for however long it takes!'. I hope the latter.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Fair point!
I just tend to get myself pumped up a bit more for yelling at the game if I psyche myself up with why I don't like them. I'm still bitter about that Thursday night loss a few years back.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
UNC is indeed a dangerous offense. Putting up 21 on GT isn't a fluke, and GT's defense is not bad. Not up to VT's level, but still not bad. Given our offense's proclivity for making any game a close one, I don't have a problem with being overconfident. I hope our team feels likewise.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
UNC is a trap game, but it's a home game as well. I want our guys to go out there and just rip them a new one. I want our crowd to get in their head. Didn't Renner get injured last time he visited our house? Or was it the QB they had before Renner?
Here's what I hope happens through the course of the game:
Blocked kick (maybe for our TD?)
At least 2 ints - maybe one for a TD
At least 3 sacks
A Facyson TD, on D or O
A Sam Rogers TD
A Trey Edmunds long TD
Also, I will be at the game for the first time in a while, so the crowd had better be loud, and stay after Homecoming court is crowned...UNC is no cupcake team and will be playing with a chip on their shoulder...but we better not let them leave our house with a W.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I don't know if I'd call it a trap game, but the boys better be ready to play. I expect nothing less than UNC's best after being embarrassed at home. If this was last year's squad then I would be more worried, but this team has shown me so far that they take everyone seriously.
Also, Sam Rogers can't score a touchdown yet...the world isn't ready for it.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
UNC is a dismal 1-3, while Virginia Tech is a sparkling 4-1 after a win at Georgia Tech. UNC won 48-34 at home last year. Virginia Tech 31-21
I'd be thrilled with that score and it is possible if the defense and special teams contribute to that, but I think it could be a little more lower scoring, in the 24-17 or 24-21 range.

For what ever reason, I dislike UNC, but can't hate on them.
Not PITT!!!!!! That's a hate thing. (Along with 'Cuse, Murland, Miami, BC.) Just something about the Carolina schools that don't bother me that much. But the others?!!!!!

I pretty much believe that those pics from sporting news and the season so far for both teams speak for themselves
I expect unc to play us tough, but it won't be enough to stave off our revenge
I personally would like to see James "Bane" Gayle destroy Renner on the first series and have him scared the whole game.
"I am Renner's reckoning."
You should have left Mr. UPS Man.
The resemblance is striking.
New recruiting pitch idea for qbs - "Come to VT, where you'll never have to play against our D-Line on a Saturday"
Bane equal the Hokie D and the cop equal UNC O
hahaha at the sporting news - Perhaps wait for Butch Jones' recruits to graduate before declaring James Franklin amazing. A poorly trained baboon could be successful coaching a team with those linemen and skill-position players.
^^ larry fedora bigguy james franklin is at vandy and i gotta give him props for that job
haha, my bad. Fedora, Franklin... whatever. That guy.
This one always pisses me off:
We have academic standards at Tech.
And REAL classes for real students
i briefly had a neighbor once who had a bumper sticker that said, "i live in virginia but i pull for carolina!" i used to shoot him shitty looks.
Wow I don't think a picture ever angered me as much as this one
Man, you are on fire tonight.

Turkey leg for Emma Watson on a football board.

YES, was waiting for us to start focusing on UNC.
I made a UNC football trailer that completely embodies their mindset and mental toughness this season:
This is trash talk from a UNC fan uploaded yesterday btw
Apparently, the only shot we have at winning Saturday is if:
good I can use this in the highlight vid
Does mommy know he's using such foul language?
Hahaha. This was post-ECU loss. I'm telling you, this guy is a character.
It is too easy to imagine a dialog like the one below taking place before the making of this video.

0:37 - "We're bad. Okay. That being said, I still think we got a shot in the Coastal."
1:45 - "I don't know if we're going to rebound."
..pick one, big boy.
He had to steal his mom's phone and run in the back yard to make this video real quick while she fixed his Hot Pockets.
WHAT is this kids twitter handle? The account for realsam510 has never tweeted.

Was he holding back tears in that one?
Couple of thoughts:
1. Is he sure he is a UNC fan because he sounds like some people on this site with his LT3 hate....
2. He is aware we beat ECU and GT and UNC did not...and they only have 1 win on the season?
...our fans have caused an earthquake

"Logan Thomas is like a pregnant woman."
NO your face is like a pregnant woman; because it's fat as fuck. Come to think of it, he looks a lot like Mr. Potato Head.
VTCEE, Like a BOSS! +1 my good fellow, +1.
I'm getting a file not found. What was this?
A still frame of chubs with some Mr. Potato Head accessories. As you can tell by the videos, there wasn't much editing needed.
He can't reach your face, Logan.
Upvoted because of that.

Enter Sandman Satin theory: The thus-far-unproved proposition that you sleep better on smooth, cool sheets
As Alan would say... "Ha! Classic HorseOnATreadmill..."
The VT crowd may have been small for a home game but it was big enough to make this NC fan think it was VT home game.
I was really proud of the fans and their noise during the 4th quarter. 12th man level for sure.
we STILL had more fans in ATL then UVA does at a home game...
He lost me at "Whatup".
Wow, that made me angry...

The only thing that makes me sad about this image is: I CAN'T TURKEY LEG IT A MILLION TIMES!

Trying to wrap my head around the idea of hating on UNC.
I'll save my hate for the Bumble Bees (already did) and then for UVA (just because).
So, see you later.
Fine. Be that way.
I kinda feel like the old man though...
I think that was the point
This gif perfectly embodies how I feel towards UNC right now
UNC got a ring last year and are paying for their sin this year. GO HOKIES! The offense will break out this week 1999 crush the orange style.
How Foster teaches the Freshmen to tackle:
Notice the good form in wrapping up, and not targeting the head. Brilliant. #lunchpaildefense

21-all at the end of regulation against Marshall.
Correct. I think the stat that Leonard was remembering was that VT has not scored 3 offensive TD's against FBS competition since Duke last year.
You should hate the Tar Heels. They wear the same smugness that the Hoos do.
Have to agree. Seems that every time we start thinking we are going to win something comes and bites us in the butt. This team has to stay hungry and play with a chip on their shoulders. It's not like I really need a reason to hate on them anyways.
Someone PLEASE post chubs' UNC reaction video when it gets posted
He was last seen hiding behind his mom's skirt
I bet he still had the glass of tang she made for him too
You guys remember tang??
So their defense played well? But I thought or offense was awful?
You made the first video for comedy? That was nothing but dropping a bunch of F-Bombs and begging for attention (but I guess you got that wish).
This guy contradicts himself a few times just in this video. But hey, at least he can admit when he's wrong....I guess?
He posted a post game video already, I checked it.
He went back on EVERYTHING he said as well..
'I knew we were going to lose'
'LT is good, he had his breakout game against us'
Blah blah BS
He's eating crow!!!!
