Cam Goode is a captain for "Team Highlight" (black jerseys) and is playing defensive tackle on ESPN2 right now in the Under Armour All American Game. Goode was highlighted by the TV crew once, talking about how he has an explosive first step and great motor. He impressed so much that despite not being one of the higher rated prospects, he was named a captain.
I really wish he was an early enrollee. A spring with Hilgart could make him ready to play early. Conditioning will be big for him. He does look like he is carrying a bit more weight than he needs to.

I'm glad we have another player like Bruce or Boone so we can make the "ooooo" sound in Lane.
Is it "Goode" like "should" or "Goode" as in "dude" (closest I could come up with)?
That's a "Goode" question.
I like Goode as in "dude" just because it sounds cooler when 66k people say it at the same time.
What number?
54. He's had a decent game, been double-teamed just about every time he's on the field.
Double-teamed you say?

This could be VERY Goode.
Kid has good vision and some get off. Just recognized a screen, for off his block and chased down the ball.
Lol Cam just ran Ricky Slade out of bounds and then his LB absolutely hammered Slade late out of bounds.
Man, Slade is tiny.
I have said for years that I would take Ford 100 times over Slade. Tonight did nothing to change my mind.
Gervin got beat by a sluggo.
Goode has nice get off. I think he needs to burn off some extra weight. That will help him get to the second gap. He is very strong. Hopefully some of these redshirt freshmen and Adams can bring some edge pressure like we saw from Team Highlight.
He looks very thick in the upper body. I wonder what his bench is.
It didn't need to be one or the other. You'd take Beck/Steward over Slade?
No. But I would take Grant over Slade.
The game is re-airing on The U right now - didn't know that it was a Slade fumble that started the ball rolling for CamBam & Co.
RS had a rough night last night. He was a player I was looking forward to watching - I was underwhelmed by his early tapes (aside from his speed) but figured he would bulk up, maybe get a little taller? Nnnnnot really.
Kind of in the dark as to why he's so coveted tbh - esp as a running back, esp to PSU. Great speed, but he simply doesn't have the size to run between the tackles in the B1G. He makes Saquon look like Stephen Jackson.
Someone tell me what I'm missing?
He hustles. I like the motor and he's getting good pressure despite (as mentioned above) being almost constantly double teamed.
Agree w French on the extra weight. Definitely has trouble changing direction quickly, and the lack of height is apparent. Would like to see him use his hands more and the spin move less.
He was using his hands pretty well/violently earlier, might have something to do with that bad weight. Hope he has the opportunity to take the Settle route and drop a couple dozen pounds before he gets on the field.
Yeah he is listed at about 315. I think he could be explosive but a plugger still at around 295-300.
Wow and that's even more impactful given his height. He's a hefty boy, lol.
Well let's just hope he signs with the good guys
*Signed.
According to #sauces in the recruiting threads, he's already sent his LOI somewhere but asked that the school stay hush about it so he can announce at the same time as his friends on NSD.
with the good guys right?
That's how my prayers are going...
Well I know they are sauces but until I see it I'll believe it !
I tend to agree, but Goode's twitter is a little more cryptic. At work, but felt relevant to post. A tweet he sent out last few days says something to effect of "where will I land." Hopefully someone can embed the tweet.
He's just playing up the whole, "not committed until I announce with my teammates thing." Seriously everybody stop worrying about this one.
ESPN 300 has him listed as 'signed' rather than 'committed.' We good.
With the way people had been talking about Cam Goode recently I had thought he was just a top target, didn't realize he was actually committed! Although am I missing some vital information? He is a 3* prospect, and while I doesn't explicitly dictate his future, why is everyone referring to him as a coveted recruit? Is it the departure of Tim?
I think it's because his talent indicates he will be a very productive college player for us but he isn't your typical NFL body type for the position so he doesn't get the star rating of others with comparable skills.
I read what you said... what I heard was: 'he's staying all 4 yrs and it's going to be awesome.'
Underrated and perfect fit for our D. He is also quite vocal on the recruiting trail (pro hokie) although he has recently gone cryptic to apparently tease prior to his group announcement.
The accolades he's getting and the reviews from his week at Under Armour make it seem like he will be much more impactful than a 3* ranking would indicate. I don't know much, but I watched him at one of the UA practices and he looked like one of the best if not the best DTs out there.
Put it this way: I'm really glad he's signed. Because after this week of work, he'd be fielding a LOT of interesting calls.
Kid could be a steal. And right on time to boot with Timmy's exit. This is good.
