As promised, I've returned to do the Top Plays of the Season bracket once more. It seemed like everyone had a fun time doing this last year, voting for Sam Roger's pass as the play of the year.
I'll take nominations during the week this week and compile a bracket (depending on how many plays, it'll probably be 16 again). Then begin the voting a week from today most likely.
There was some discussion last year on having tough matchups in the first rounds and some folks wanted to do seeding. I won't be doing seeding because then you're kind of ranking your best plays anyway. So I will do it the same as last year.
So let's hear it, what were Virginia Tech's best plays of the season?

Obvious starter is the 4th and goal play against Pitt, though all 4 of those plays could make this list, and Floyd's hawk down.
Maybe we should make a bracket to decide second place haha.
quadboxgoallinestops.gif could count as one?
Fake punt.
does "Frank Beamer with the Black Diamond Trophy" count?
if not, how about Kumah stuffing Quin Blanding through the earth's crust and into the mantle?
EDIT: the more I think about it, the more i remember some really great plays and moments:
^^^ All of the above.
The entire UNC game, especially this guy:
Super Cam's record breaking day at ECU:
And then there's this...
Josh Jackson's run against the cousins...
Mook throwing the receiver's shoe during the UNC game.
This receiver has no idea what you're talking about:

usually gifs end too soon. this one starts too late
Just my own revisionist history. I'd rather make the UNC player look like an idiot than our own player look like an ass.
Reggie Floyd's perfectly placed hit on Chris Sharp that forced the fumble to give VT the ball and momentum to start the 2nd half against UVA.
Very underrated. Could argue that was the play of the game.
Reggie Floyd sprinting his ass off to make the last second tackle is my number one.
....and its not even close.
Houshun Gaines' false start dance
^^ This
The one against UVA where he slows it down.
In gif format, I nominate this gem:

Shout out to Anthony Shegog for his great impression of an offensive player as well.
Fake punt wins this going away for the obvious reasons, but the reason I like it so much is that Mummau is not even the punter and OSU still completely got smoked.
Also love Mummau's roster pic. Dude looks like a swaggy realtor in his late 40's. AND he's majoring in Prop Mgmt.
Compilation of Slye's Touchbacks.
Give me the Holston spin cycle against Pitt on that list please and thank you 👍👍👍
There was some good plays this year for sure, but is it just me or were there fewer "wow" plays this year in spite of a similar record to last year? The offense wasn't as sexy, meanwhile our defense was mean and suffocating without a whole lot of big interceptions/sacks?
We didn't have a deep threat, we didn't have a back that can break tackles, and we didn't have a QB who was particularly explosive or elusive. Not many players to make "wow" plays, lots of freshman making freshman mistakes.
Cam Philips' fake WR screen touchdown against the cousins. I could watch their DB stomp the ground in frustration all morning.
Savoy's TDs against BC, Duke and GT were all fun. The GT one was a great individual effort, even in a losing cause.
A "Happy Feet" montage of plays and dancing penguins.
Kumah's stiff-arm of Blanding gets my vote
Bumping for last minute nominations!
