I'm glad Tech is trying to lead the nation in mental healthcare for its student athletes. Suicide and depression rates among young people is climbing. Encourage people to reach out.
Yea shoutout to Cook Counseling. You can go there for free and talk to them about pretty much anything. They take an interest in what you have to say and what's going on in your life and will help you any way they can.
I second this. As someone who took advantage of Cook Counseling in my years at Tech and an former RA who recommended it all the time to my freshmen, I cannot emphasize how easy it is to make an appointment and how open they are to all kinds of things you´d like to talk about. Whether it´s stress related, roommate problems, girlfriend/boyfriend issues (they offer couples counseling too), or whatever, it can be nice to have someone who lends an open ear to you.
Seek help if you need it. It´s always available.

Unbelievable and so sad. Such a young promising life. Folks seek the help you need, please- young people- seek help if you are depressed- depression is a deadly illness- treat it as such.
From the outside these kids look like they have it all, but we can't see inside the pressure that is on them. With young people especially, a person can think there is no way out. They just can't see it.
I am glad as well that VT is reaching out and teaching these young people.
