Mike Barber filed an enlightening dispatch from the Senior Bowl on Virginia Tech pancake enthusiast Wyatt Teller —
Teller talks: Offensive lineman overcame struggles with ADHD during time at Virginia Tech.
The final quote from Wyatt's brother Rhett stuck out to me like a sore thumb.
"He's matured into the person he is today," said Rhett Teller. "The coaching staff had an idea of how you were supposed to practice, and Wyatt had an idea of how he was supposed to practice. Until they aligned, probably midway through his junior year, I think that's when we finally saw a difference in Wyatt. He figured it out."
I believe that was around the same time Teller settled into a full-time starting role under Fuente.
The entire story is worth the read.

Couldn't be happier for a guy we've seen mature over the years . I work with students with disabilities so I couldn't be happier for Wyatt. I think he can have a good nfl career .
Good on you, Tx, for the work you do.
Thanks msm
I am sure there are other good Hokies out there doing similar work. My Hokie daughter got her Human Development degree, which many athletes get too, and now works with Autistic children.
Interesting read. I'm very happy for Wyatt of course. It should also remind us that there is alot we don't know about as fans and these guys are still kids getting life figured out on a multitude of levels.
Hell I'm 35 and still don't have life figured out. Can't fault an 18 year old for sure, mirrors work better in scenarios like these.
That's a good article and explains a lot about Wyatt's development. I think Wyatt's potential has stood out for about three years now, being one of the most productive, if not the most productive, o-lineman we have had in a while. I really don't understand why he wouldn't be projected to be an earlier round NFL selection. I tell you what, if my Ravens are sitting there with say a 4th Round pick, and Wyatt's available, I'd scoop him up in a heartbeat....he'd be another Marshall Yanda, but with better physical tools. He has all the physical and mental intangibles to be a very good NFL lineman.
Seattle needs some help on the OL. Would be cool to see him end up there with BamBam Kam and Duane Brown.
Kam coming back? I thought he was advised to hang 'em up due to the neck injury.
My daughter has ADHD, and let me tell you, this strikes a chord with me. She is smart as a whip and one of the biggest hearted kids I've ever met (my dad-blinders notwithstanding), but by God when she has a way she thinks something needs to be done, neither hell nor high water will deter her from her course. It isn't just stubbornness, it's a clinical inability to extract yourself from your own focus and consider alternatives. Mad props to Wyatt for balancing football at a top 25 program and study at a top 100 university with that diagnosis.
DEF speaks to me as I was diagnosed w/ ADD/ADHD when I was a young kid. It wasn't easy. Never is.
