Inject this trade deadline madness into my veins. In all seriousness, the NBA is my favorite sport and I can't even comprehend all that is happening. I live in Charlotte and I was worried about Kemba being traded and then all this happens. Lakers are setting themselves up to make multiple big name acquisitions this summer.

uva sucks

My head is still spinning. This has been the wildest hour of any trade deadline in any sport that I've ever seen.

Haha, yeah, just simply having LeBron's team being the one that's completely imploding all at once lofts it up there for me

Koby Altman doing work. And really he's the only one. It was very quiet all up until it got very loud with Cleveland's deals

While being able to keep the Nets pick!

uva sucks

And Windhorst just tweeted that, with trading their own pick, they aren't even allowed to trade the Nets pick now due to the Stepien Rule

Dwayne Wade was apparently begging out of Cleveland due to PT and a few other things (probably having to live in Cleveland) but I'm happy for him to be going back to Miami.

uva sucks

I'm glad he is going to retire as a Heat player

As well as a 3x NBA World Champ.

*counting on my fingers* Am I missing one? I thought Wade just had 3.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

just three, all with the Heat. 2x lebron years, 1x shaq years

Wait people still watch full NBA seasons?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

I can't say I watch all 82 games, but I watch probably 75% of the Wizards games during a season. I'm just a sucker for basketball punishment...

The NBA has gotten really fun to follow the last half-decade or so, and in the past couple years alone it makes news basically year-round now.

Twitter was made for the NBA, honestly. Such a fun league to follow, and player movement is riveting

Are the Wiz gonna trade Wall?

that would be the dumbest move in a long history of dumb dc sports moves

Haha, I dunno! 5-1 since he went down to injury, and I like to read real deep into Beal's comments from last weekend

It would be dumb considering they probably wouldn't get back fair value. But let's not pretend that contract extension is gonna age well

Ratings are up quite a bit this year. Best in almost a decade, I believe. So yes.

I know a lot of people who love basketball, and I know zero people who watch the regular season with any regularity.

Well, either someone's watching or the Nielsen numbers are fabricated

I watch it religiously. It's just a fun sport to watch with the young talent paired with increased altercations this year, it's only becoming more entertaining.

Lebron to the Cavs execs:

He's clearly pulling all the strings in the background, the team is doing all they can to keep him in CLE.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #YNWA

The team is doing all the can to keep him in cleveland, but they're doing a pretty good job of positioning themselves for next year if he does opt out and leave. Clarkson, Nance, Hill are under contract, and Hood is RFA so they can match or sign-and-trade him too. giving up their first this year hurts, but they kept the Nets pick. This iteration of the Cavs minus Lebron is still playoffs caliber in the East

me to the T-Wolves

No offense, but if that's really you in the picture, you kind of look like a dick.

Careful what you wish for. The only story I've seen involving the Wolves is about their potential interest in Joakim Noah.

Wolves will be trying to sign D-Rose if waived. Take that how you want it haha.

uva sucks

Wait so if they get Rose and then trade for Noah, wouldn't they just be the Bulls circa 2015 or so?

Timberbulls: Rose, Butler, Gibson, and Brooks already. That would be quite impressive.

Drives me crazy that coaches who are also the team's GM grab a bunch of their former players they like even if the player is over the hill.

4th in the western conference and 1st in the division

I ain't complaining

I agree they're doing well, but long term I don't think it's how you build a team. Getting Butler was an awesome move. But, KAT and Wiggins are both 22. Gibson is clearly adding value right now, but I wonder what having him on the team is worth in a year or two (he's 32). I'll admit I haven't looked into his contract or anything. So maybe he will just move on in a couple years. But, this team isn't ready for a title this year. Maybe not next year either, barring some huge leap from Wiggins. Going all in this year might at best get to the Western Conference Finals with a big upset.

You also have to be worried that the starters all average more than 30 minutes and no bench player has more than 19 mpg. This was a problem when Thibodeau coached the Bulls, too. They'd be great in the regular season, but burn out in the playoffs.

Lakers just started getting chemistry with the drama queens son out for an extended period and they went and blew it up. Can we fire Magic yet?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

Gonna have a ton of cap space this offseason though. I think it's a pretty good move

Meh, I would rather build through the draft then bring in a couple of over the hill over-priced free agents

Then you should at least like that they got Cleveland's 1st round pick in the deal

Yeah, still looks like they are trying to tank though, and never a fan of that in any sport.

Hard to build through the draft without lottery picks

Paul George over the hill?

Well by definition gorge is definitely over the hill.

uh this trade is not about this year and in that regard it is a smashing success for the lakers

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Really? I think the Lakers won this trade by far. Their intentions are known (bringing in big stars this offseason) and they did just that by clearing cap space while also only picking up one year contracts.

uva sucks

right, two expirings plus a first is a nice job for players they were looking to get rid of anyway due to the money on their contracts

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Not going to happen imo but I wouldn't mind giving up Gortat, Oubre or Otto, and a pick for Deandre Jordan.

I would hate to give up Oubre, and another first round pick since it seems the Wizards haven't had a first round pick since the stone age.

Bleeding burnt orange and chicago maroon

The Pistons made a couple of low key moves after making a splash with Blake last week. Added Jameer Nelson from Chicago (who had him on the bench for 2 games after a trade with NO) and Tyler James Ennis from Memphis.

I didn't know he was a dual sport athlete
good on him

lol whoops

So when does one of the players just traded for get traded again? IT back to the Celtics (Example only)?
