First.....off, the reaction of that one girl still trying to cheer on LOLUVA was hilarious. Her second attempt at the cheer started to diminish as she realized her team was about to take an L.
Secondly, I could watch that gif with the crowd's reaction after Clarke's 3 all day. It's like playing where's Waldo looking for who has the most dumbfounded look.

I teach middle school students and we have 4 periods within a day.
I couldn't help but notice Ahmed Hill sitting on the bench in the go ahead, Blackshear and one. He didn't get too excited about him making it. I understand him not playing and it may be easier for me to say this now, but if he wants the be the one out there playing he should be in the gym before or after practice working on his shot or on defense the way Wilson plays it. He looks like Satchel Pierce looked on the bench before transferring back in 2014.

With using a redshirt already, Ahmed couldn't transfer with eligibility to play unless he has graduated, right?
That is how it is for football, not quite sure if it works the same for basketball though.
Great start to a Monday. It's going to be a great week. Parked the truck with the VT decals next to the car with the UVA sticker in the parking lot today. Will try to all week. Maybe I'll see him leaving for lunch. He already used the I don't really care about football line this year, with a face that made me believe he was telling the truth.

I think the walk is if 5 lands before getting that pass off. I can't tell if he does, but it's pretty damn close and that pass was so unorthodox that I could see where it is a question.
It's not a matter of the euro step before the pass, it's the jump and whether he lands before releasing it.
Right. I count two steps. We can't see from that angle if he lands before passing it or not, but it doesn't look like he does. There is a ref standing about 10 feet directly in front of Robinson on the baseline. He had a perfect angle. I'm sure if there was a travel it would've been called.
I don't know about that... the refs swallowed their whistles plenty of times during this game. For instance Robinson is fouled on this play before he passes the ball
The new "Get Cold, Get Quiet" video shows this from a different angle and it looks pretty clear that 5 landed well before he released that pass.

That angle proves Jay Bilas is full of shit. Two steps and a pass.
It's still such a tough call. If he "jumped" and both feet are in the air at once (and it's close) then it's a walk because that landing foot is on the ground. But if the right foot is on the ground when the left foot is up, then it's not a walk until the right foot touches again, which it doesn't.
Huh? He steps with his right foot, he steps with his left foot, he passes, after that doesn't matter, but he does bounce into the air with both feet off the ground as the UVA player collides with him.
Note that anyone running down the court will have both feet off the ground as they stride... that's the definition of running. Nobody gets called for a walk on a fast break dunk where they're running full speed. You pick up your dribble you get 1 step with each foot... jumping, walking, running whatever you want.
This is exactly what I wanted to see. In the original gif, it's really hard to see what wizardry befell the hoos on that play

There were a lot of surrender cobras in the band area too. I was close and could see them. I overheard at least three different band members remark, "Of all the freakin' teams to lose to...." I got a good laugh out of that.

Wow... UVa is still ranked #1 in the polls despite the loss.
Yeah it sucks (the petty side of me), but for our tournament chances I'll take it (the rational side of me).
I don't know who I would have put above them honestly. Michigan State is the only one that had any real claim this week, but I think UVA is still better and has been playing better than them. Also, I don't think the media sees us as a bad loss anymore.
The confusing part is saying last week that Nova was number one, them and UVA dropping a game, but Nova gets punished more. Either MSU is #1 by default or it stays Nova, moving up UVA is admitting your ranking last week was never right.
Except St. Johns was arguably a bad loss by Nova. We were not a bad loss.

Sometimes, you have to wonder if teams are punished for losing just because the pollsters didn't value the opponent enough.
St. John's had lost 11 in a row before Duke. Not exactly the same caliber as being around .500 in ACC play
They're #72 in KenPom which would put them between BC and NCST, so right around a .500 level ACC team.
Yeah but they're a .154 (2-11) Big East team.
They've lost a lot of games close against some really good teams. That's a much better team than their record would show, more like a fringe tournament team than the worst team in the Big East. If you want a good value bet (that probably won't hit, but you can sell it off with hedges) I'd take St John's to make the NCAA tournament by winning the conference tournament.
Pretty much the latter - everybody is readjusting rankings based on what the committee put out over the weekend.
