Warning, the following is not a good look for the hokie nation. It's not a good look for TKP. Quite honestly, it's not a great look for me either. This is 100% sour grapes. It comes from the depths of my severe disappointment with how the game went last night and I am, quite childishly, lashing out at the notre dame players and coaches.
So if the following offends you or makes you ashamed to be associated with me, please feel free to let the post die in the wasteland that is page 2 of the tracker. If not, feel free to join me in my tantrum.
Rex Pflueger

This douchey mcdoucherson makes me want to punch him in the face. From tackling JRob out of bounds to his stupid as tongue wagging celebration after his only 3 pointer of the night that E$PN would not stop showing. Between his douchebag haircut, being named "Rex" and overall attitude, he's earned himself an honorary basketball scholarship from LOLUVa. "Not sure how it happened. He just kinda, you know, fits in" - Tony Bennett (probably).
Matt Farrell

Short of that leprechaun in their pep band, this is the most irish looking motherfucker of the night. While his numbers looked pretty good, his biggest contribution of the night was picking a fight with Clarke, flopping, and getting Chris a technical. That said, he probably has a very bright future...complete with alcoholism, spousal abuse, and domestic terrorism against the brits.
Mike Brey

Matt Farrell in 20 years. I kid, I kid. In all seriousness, the worst thing I can say about Mike Brey is that ten years ago, he was probably that guy in Boston who would show up at your bar every month with a baseball bat and a list of demands from a guy named "Pappy"
Martinas Geben

This guy played like someone who was a late bloomer in middle school and was sick and tired of people saying he had a girl's name...Oh wait.
Austin Torres

By the end of the night, I was calling this guy "After Dark" cause his screen was always moving. Look it up kids. It's funny, I swear.
Bonzie Colson

Where do you start? Bonzie is stupid name. He was fat and our of shape last night. His play of the game was a prayer three that almost went over the backboard but somehow banked in.
TJ Gibbs Jr.

What can I say? This guy did work last night. When he wasn't making threes, he was causing us to swarm him behind the line and dishing it off for an assist. I just can't get over how one eye is looking at me and the other is making me wonder who's standing behind me as I type this.
Teddy Valentine

Much like Ryan Switzer, I don't know how Teddy has any eligibility remaining, but he certainly made some plays for Notre Dame down the stretch. Teddy Valentine sounds like a porn name. 10/10 Rhinos would swipe right.

Comments
You are admittedly correct (about the title).
I'm just here to say Matt Farrell has the most punchable face in America. He also took HGH in highschool just to reach the diminutive stature he is currently boasts. I have more issues with our players right now than I do ND players.
have you seen grayson allen?
I stand by my original statement.
Matty Ice
"The most punchable face in America? Hold my beer..."

This guy's in the top 5!!!

"We'd like a word."
He's the ring leader, so he can take one for the team!
Most T baggable face?
That little chest tattoo that peeks out of the top of his jersey really completes the ensemble.
Honestly, I really don't think this post is that bad.
just rename it Hatin ON and no one will know the difference
Anybody else think Jon Taffer is Mike Brey's alter ego?
via GIPHY
Nah Taffer is a rational human being with well thought out criticism, a great sense of humor/charisma, and above all else less anger issues than Brey.
Your choice of photos was excellent. Truly represents their personalities from the game last night.
I can't say I'll be pulling for their basketball team in this, or any tournament.
I would have shoved Matt Farrell, too.
Farrell should have been called for something.
No way you call a technical on Chris Clarke, and nothing on Farrell.
Yes, his behavior was offensive and IMO Clarke's reaction was based more on reflex. It was a very intense moment which I though should have been taken into consideration by the refs.
It should have been a double technical if anything was called.
Yes, and likely would not have changed the game dynamics.
Just said what we were all thinking....
At the last tournament I fenced my last bout of the day was against a member of Notre Dame's varsity team. I came back from 4-2 down to beat him 5-4 on a pulled groin. After I scored the last touch he, his coach, and his mother were all yelling at me that I hit the floor. They weren't even yelling at the referee, they were yelling directly at me. Once the referee confirmed the call he refused to salute or shake my hand which is a huge sign of disrespect and could have gotten him thrown out of the tournament.
Now I'm honestly not sure if I hit him or the floor, but I wasn't about to give up the touch because they were upset about the call. If he's so damn great he shouldn't have blown a 4-2 lead to an injured scrub like me anyway.
So yeah, no love for Notre Dame here.
damn straight
When I saw this on the tracker:

I'm gonna look at the positive. 5 years ago I would come on this site after basketball games and there were maybe 5 of us that actually talked about it. Now everyone is up in arms because we blew a game that is probably meaningless to us in the end. Thanks Buzz
Matt Farrell is a turd.
I will add that the Notre Dame "fans" sitting behind us last night were some of the worst people I've experienced at a sporting event.
They poked me several times asking where I was from, and so while calling an usher over, I told them I was with Tech, to hopefully shut them up. Nope.
For the first 5 minutes of the game, it was just constant heckling.
"Hey, write about how Buzz's offense is 'shoot and miss' and how Notre Dame's is 'shoot and make'"
"Wouldn't you hate to cover such a shit team?"
They shut up pretty quickly as Tech made their run.
In the second half, they turned on their own players, calling them pussys and bitches and telling them to go commit certain sexual acts with certain parental units. It was shocking.
And then when Notre Dame came back, they started heckling me again. At one point, while trying to wave another usher over, he decided to cuss me out again.
I didn't really have a hatred for Notre Dame entering last night. But I certainly do now.
You should have decked him, what a douche...
You weren't coming back after last night anyway...
I actually will be here all weekend. Credential covers the entire tournament so I'm going to enjoy some really really good basketball.
(And also the soft pretzel machine)
If It was me at that game there would have been double digit notre dame fans with broken bones yesterday
I went to the game in South Bend two years ago and they are absolutely the worst fans imaginable. Worse than Ohio State fans
Their football fans weren't bad, but I was told they also expected to lose to us.
The ones I had run ins with and that sat around us were terrible. Some of them were genuinely great like the guy I parked next to, but 99% awful
I am sorry you had a very different experience than I did. That being said, I don't know that I am ever planning on going back.
I went to the game in South Bend two years ago and they are absolutely the best fans imaginable. Better than Ohio State fans
{Sorry, I had a great time, made some friends, had an impromptu dinner with the nicest ND guys ever.....I know, not a popular opinion today....I'll go away now.}
I wouldn't call them the best fans, but they were polite and didn't seem to care when we took over their stadium.
Hmmm. Well I for one was very underwhelmed with the ND stadium and the fans. They literally never had a jumbo screen for replay until this year. They were talking mad shit during the game until the comeback .I would say the stadium was at least 30 % Hokies. Amazing time other than the 30 degree snow weather with strong winds. but hey, nothing a Hokie couldn't handle with a W.
I loved that old school stadium, that was one of the best parts. The guy manning the down/distance thing was on top of it, it was up before I could look up from the play. It was cold and grey and it seemed like we were playing in black and white from the 1960's.
Maybe I'm a little nostalgic, but I thought our game at Notre Dame was down right magical. I don't want to go back in 2019 because I don't want to ruin that memory. But the Irish place I had dinner was sooooo gooooood that I might want to go back.
But I think I'll save my schillings to go to Michigan in 2020 or Wisky in 2024 or Happy Valley in 2025.
Would rather go to those other schools than back to ND.
While watching the game I kept thinking...man if I was playing in this game I would have been ejected for throwing punches

NOBODY PUNCHES THE GOAT
That's Kobe Bryant... not Michael Jordan.
But Kobe has an Oscar now
Discussion over.
Looks like Kobe's knees got a little weak with the left hook.
Only in the GIF. If you watch the whole clip, Kobe ate both punches like they were nothing.
#ThroatChopThursday
I needed this. Thank you!
Yup fuck those guys. Especially TV Teddy and the leprechaun looking motherfucker.
Does anyone have a video of the Chris Clarke tech or the Justin Robinson foul during the Miami game where the kid tripped? I need video evidence for my office.
The moving screen thing turned into a colossal, horrid joke. I loved the one where the one commentator was trying to explain the technicality of how a moving screen was called because Torres didn't give JRob a clear path, and the other commentator answered back with, "or because he was still moving."
There was a moving screen on every ND possession in the first half just about. I guess they started calling it in the 2nd half because the refs have at least some pride.
On another note, somebody's got to try to do a .GIF of Buzz's deep sigh near the end. What a poetic portrait of the whole affair that was.
I think I could have kept up with Bonzie last night, and I'm 35 and not nearly as active as I should be
You could use some peanuts with all that salt. I'd be lying if I said some of those same thoughts didn't cross my mind. I take full responsibility for the loss. Every time I have watched a game this season we lost. Last night I tuned in a few minutes before halftime.
Rex Pfleuger anagrams to Purge Reflex, which is what I experienced when watching the second last night.
Always thought that his parents were just WWE fans of Lex Luger
Your whole post anagrams to...
"RMFW Xeroxed applesauce in a rigged cup then threw stale scones. Then Hair Thing threw a few Chex."
π
If they weren't going to call a double technical foul, Clarke should have gotten his money's worth and choked Farrell out on national television.
Tiny little man would have no chance..
via GIPHY
That play was the single worst call I've ever seen in basketball (though admittedly I don't watch a lot of basketball). That fucking leprechaun grabbed the ball from Clarke's hands, tackled a camera man, and then somehow Clarke got the penalty? So stupid.
Maybe we can do well in the wrestle backs?
Fuck Notre Dame
We blew a fucking 21 point lead in the second half, hopefully everyone on our team is wearing a cone of shame until the NIT starts...
NIT? I'm sorry, I don't understand what that means this year.
Not that my opinion matters but.....
