It sucks how much ESPN made so many of you (and much of the population at large) hate Trae Young just by talking about him so much. He's just a kid, and he's not doing embarrassing/juvenile shit like Grayson Allen did his whole career.
Even some ESPN guys were taking jabs at their own network during Championship Week at one point when Oklahoma came up during bubble discussion. Can't remember which game it was though.
Yeeeaaaaah... I don't have anything against the kid, and not really sure why we should care about him at all. His play this year had zero impact on us. We were seeded higher, and we never played them. Different than someone like, as you said, Allen, who has done more than a few questionable things to our players over the years on the court of play.
I don't hate Trae Young, I hate his play-style and the hype that allows a player to shoot 20 bad shots a game or whatever it was. I think that's the case for a lot of fans, nothing personal against Young though.

Alright, he's legally an adult, but was in high school a year ago and is suddenly hated by thousands of people who don't know him because other people talk about him too much.
I don't think everyone hates Young specifically. For me, it was just that all the talking heads were putting Oklahoma in the tournament simply because of Young, even as the team plummeted in the standings - losing eight of their last ten games.
That was part of my hatred, yes he is a very good player but on a not so good team.
I bought in to the reverse hype and picked Oklahoma, but I had Duke through to the Sweet 16 anyway.
