Hard to really say. At home + if Francois is back, might be reasonable given our defensive losses. But new coach, no practice with Francois this spring means my prior is pretty wide.

I certainly hope our program never in a position where we're relying on Vegas spreads for player motivation.
You don't think coaches using the "underdog" theme is a real thing?
Not as much as you might think. If we're playing at the level we should be playing at, we'd likely be favorites in 10-11 games a year. Players should already know they're there to win, and not be reliant on the 'disrespect' thing, and that is part of the staff's job. FSU is a team we can and should beat. This isn't Kansas playing Alabama. VT fans seem to have some weird inferiority complex sometimes. We don't always need to be thought of as underdogs.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I think the "back against the wall" theme is prominent in most sports depending on the team/management/coach. Bud Foster's Lunch Pail defense it the epitome of blue collar, underdog, us against the world mentality. And Fuente... well...

I love the mentality, and I think it makes 17-23 year olds play with a chip on their shoulder which 5/7 times works in VT's favor.
If Nick Saban can play the underdog card, anyone can.
I think he uses the "we're the best f'in team in the country" motivation, at least to recruit guys. Their team knows they have the biggest and best talent on the field and they want to crush you. They are very self motivated. He doesn't need to play the underdog. He might play a variation, which is "these puny ass guys think they can beat you. Show them you are the best."
