To show we care
Wanna add to that? Matt Schaub is terrible.
Nothing was better than when I turned on the SNF game and the announcers were talking about how Schaub was "in good company re: Favre and Manning" with 3 games in a row with a pick 6, tying them for the record.
And then promptly threw a 4th in 4 games. :D

I lost it at the last one. Great stuff, Joe.
I posted this in the other thread, but here is the "My Game is Sick..." kid.
That kid will never know happiness
I'm glad someone else saw this. I took video of it but am technologically challenged.
At the end, the kid looks at someone, I can only imaginehe's thinking, damn dad, why can't we be Hokies?
Lol. The bottle still has the cap on. Derp London! Hahaha

They may be LOLuva fans, but at least some of them are starting to wake up to the reality of Time Cop coaching. Wait...London can turn this around, just give him more time. BWAHAHAHAHAH!
Nothing like getting slapped around at home by a MAC team to fully illustrate the futility of your program. I can live with LOLuva being the worst team in the ACC, we are growing new rivalries with the upper-echelon of the conference anyway, where VT has belonged since arriving and LOLuva has not sniffed since Welsh retired.

Kiffin to UVA... hilarious. Going for the dregs of collegiate coaching to replace Crybaby. I would think Rick Petrino would be there before Kiffin though.
Bobby Petrino, or Rick Pitino? Either would be an upgrade. And yes, I am aware that Rick is a Bball coach...
Damn't Architect. That's twice you caught me slacking. Yah, Bobby. My excuse is I am posting while in middle of a huge event for top designers in Shanghai and am pulled in two directions for what is more important to me... Hokies or career, Hokies or career.... haha... Nice work man. +1
Haha. Well now that you've identified the problem (deciding between career and Hokies), you can fix it. Just pick Hokies ;). I obviously have... ::looks over shoulder to see if boss is watching::
off topic, but what kind of projects are you working on? You are based in NYC yah?
I am in NYC. Working at a smallish firm that has projects all over the city - residential, commercial, institutional... pretty good mix. My biggest project right now is in the Brooklyn Navy Yard - which is really a pretty cool opportunity. Are you an architect and/or NYC based?...
Yes and no. I am not in NYC. I am in Shanghai. Been in China for past 13 years, Shanghai for past 5.
Technically I am an Urban Designer by education, but I have designed and built a shitload of buildings, city planning/urban design, landscape and a smattering of interior work. a few hundred projects. I have worked for some of the largest design companies in the world running their offices here in China, but now have my own company. Started April 2012 and now have 34 staff.
At the moment we are designing two boutique hotels, two shopping malls, about 10 landscape projects, a new city district and a 10 sq mile tourism zone, and a smattering of interior work. But we have some big things coming down the pipe.
Which buildings are you working on in the Naval yard? We are finishing out a restoration project here in Shanghai as as well.
shit... if you're interested in chatting design, then my email is nc@watershed.cn . No need to clog up TKP with it.
there is a distinct lack of Hokie grads in China unfortunately. later dude
Interesting...I am actually heading to Shanghai for work this weekend. I will be there from the 13th to the 18th.
Any tips/recommendations? I have never been to China.
Awesome. You prefer beer, beer or beer?
Send me an email man. As of right now I am business trip free and will be in Shanghai all next week.
Lost it right there.
Breaking News: Jim Tressel asked the NCAA to add 15 years to the "show cause" penalty attached to him.
dying at "is London the highest paid cop in the country?"
I'll take "So VT now has two 4-star commits with brothers at UVa?" for $500 please Alex.

will never be a favorable outcome for the hoos
**applause** The 1st picture is inspired!
This was my favorite.
They say as we keep snapping up brothers of their players.
Possibly the greatest episode of Chappelle's show.
Both of Charlie Murphy's "True Hollywood Stories" were gut-burstingly funny
the first time i saw the "fuck your couch n---" bit i was literally in tears with laughter.
This is classic loluva here. Decent brand of football? I can only assume hes talking about Nike
"We have to be realistic. Only HC's we can get are from MAC or CUSA" - Yosemite Sam
who would have thought that username 'Yosemite Sam' would be the most realistic guy on there. only coach taking that job is one who thinks hes moving up in the conference ranks
Any statistics guys on here? Or science types? Doesn't "trend" require more than one bad season (see: LOLUVA)?
I took a look at wins, offensive YPG, and offensive YAPG. I started with 1993-2012, looking at some sort of linear regression signal over the whole timeframe. Of course, since they imply the trend has recently become downward, there has to have been a peak somewhere, so I picked the 1999 season as the team's "peak" and looked at their performance for 2000-2012 as well.
Short answer: there's nothing that would even be considered remotely statistically significant. Granted, these are small sample sizes (20 and 13 seasons, respectively), but the only negative trend that jumps out at me is offensive YPG since 1993. The R-squared value for the trend 1993-2012 is only 0.05, so no, there is no "downward trend."
Must not be a hokies engineering grad. Did that analysis in my head and got the same answer.
Meteorology and geography. Too much mental real estate allocated to spatial analysis to have room for the statistical stuff, too.
Ill throw a number out there #1 3rd down defense...let that sink in
Is the backup QB now in for Schaub? LOLUVA
Schaub has the Pick-6 fever... lol, maybe they'll notice he got it from the LOLUVA mothership
Its so easy to pick on LOLUVA when they're losing, which is usually after about 3 games. Later than usual this season.
That program does less with more than anyone else in the ACC (and that includes Miami and FSU.) The talent has always been there, going back twenty years, but what have they done with it!? Two shared ACC championships since being in the league for over 50 years! Disgusting. They've had more NFL talent through that "program" than half the ACC schools, and done nothing with it.
I've got a solution to their problem; they should fold up the whole football program and concentrate on fielding the best lacrosse and rugby teams they can. Wa-hoo-f%&*in'-wa.
their rugby sucks too, our intern last summer was from mary washington and he was all about the fact that mary washington college had beaten uva at rugby. granted, it's only club level but still loluva.
I keep coming across "London bridges falling down" all over the place.
Their football is only club level too, but I'd imagine they'd field a decent rugby team with those 5 star guys they keep pulling from the 757. Smoke Mizzell the hooker?
Nah, he'd pee in the scrum
FWIW, we beat them in 7's to get to the CRC. They then spent the next 4 months talking about how all they cared about was beating VT in 15's and didn't care about the rest of the league schedule. We went up there and won 57-12.
Reposting from another thread:
UVA, imma solve all your problems in one move:
...and create four dozen more. If 1.) LOLUVA actually pursues Lane Kiffin after the way he was at CreamsicleU and then did squat at USCw; and 2.) He actually accepts their offer; I am going to laugh all the way to another #DecadeofDominance.
But then, I guess they wouldn't have to worry about NCAA reprisals when your record is a self-imposed postseason ban.
From the Sabre: (Comparing Mike London to Beamer)
I'm as frustrated with our football performance as anybody, but I'm not ready to throw London under the bus just yet. By my count in his first four years he has taken us to a 18-24 record with a bowl appearance. By way of comparison, in the same timeframe Frank Beamer guided Tech to a record of 13-29-1 with no bowl trips.
For those who might argue that Beamer had his program on an upward trajectory by that time, his fifth season resulted in a 5-6
record and his sixth year produced a 2-8-1 result. After that, he found enviable success. Just asking . . . do you think Tech fans believe Beamer should have been canned five games into his fifth year of coaching there?
This fan has a good point. LOLUVA should definitely keep Crying Cop around another 4 years to see what happens.
Decent point, but Beamer wasn't pulling in 5* recruits in those days. Heck, we aren't even doing that now. London consistently underperforms with the talent he manages to acquire.
Which makes these recruits (especially 757) continuing to drink his Zema Kool-aid all the more confusing.
I considered giving money to the Keep-AlGroh-at-UVa-fund. Was a way to ensure a Hokie win!
Al was hired on my birthday. What a great gift. Only gift I have ever had that was the same for 10 years and never disappointed! Let's hope we can get 10 years out of Paul Blart, I mean...well you know!
I voted for him for ACC coach-of-the-year. It still wasn't enough to keep "the man in the mirror."
I loved the shirt a few years ago.
"Losing. It Grohs on you at UVa."
Had a conference at Birdwood, and saw Groh and Terry Holland having lunch. Thanked them for a good job when I left. The other Hokie with me was cracking up.
If the shirt actually said "Loosing." instead of "Losing." That would make it that much better, except for that shirt would not have been made by a Hoo, so I hope it was the correct word.
fixed...
while we're at it...
also remember the bumper sticker "Women at the Citadel. What's next? Men at UVa?"
That fan failed to mention that CFB's first two years (1987 and 1988) were under NCAA sanctions left behind by Dooley. It wasn't until 1993 that he was able to get the recruiting and the program going in the right direction.
But, yes, by all means - UVA should keep London for another four years just to make sure he really is a bad hire.
The easy counterpoint is that it was a different era. People want results and they want them now! I'd be fine with giving TimeCop a couple more seasons though. Just more wasted Virginia talent though.
Beat me to it. VT was never on television in the late 80s. Now nearly every game is aired somewhere. The commonwealth of VA didn't have nearly the high school talent it does now. And VT was on probation for a stretch. It's not easy to build a program today, but it's a lot easier now than it was then.
I, for one, welcome a 7-year tenure for TimeCop, just to see what happens. If they don't get a new coach, then how can they sell 'changing the culture'? Keep TimeCop, he's just too meme-worthy.
i'm surprised nobody's started up dontfiremikelondon.com
If Beamer is available we should hire him immediately.
As if Beamer would EVER consider going to LOLUVA....that was good for a Monday morning laugh.
I have to say this UVA fan actually makes a good point on this comment:
"By all means, if Beamer is available we should hire him immediately. He's a great coach. Mike is a great guy. Big difference."
i'm not gonna click on that but i assume they mean shane? i mean do they really think frank would leave to go to cville?
I think they think CFB's going to get fired, and so they should pick him up when he's unemployed?
Yeah, let's pull a Maryland and fire our coach when we're 5-1 and 2-0 in conference :P
They are actually talking about Frank. I don't think they really think he will be available. It was a follow up reply to one of them supporting London by comparing his first 5 years to Frank's first 5 years.
Pure crazy talk to think they could get Frank, but what would happen if they gave an offer to Bud!?
There was a rumor that he's been considered as a head coach candidate there in the past.
Flipping Bud to the UVa Dark Side would literally make me cry.
Edit: Please don't kick me off of TKP for this blasphemy!
I can only imagine he looks at their roster, looks at our roster and goes "Nah, I'm good."
First one killed me. That should just be used as the cover photo for any- and everything UVA Football related henceforth...
I like a man in uniform
I just hope he doesn't get promoted to Chief of Mall Security. Because then he'll bring in all these Navy Seals and managed too get robbed.
Littlepage has given London a resounding vote of confidence. This usually is the kiss of death.
According to the all-knowing UVA Fail Chart (see the original post here), London has one more year.
At the beginning of the year I figured London was safe as long as they won 4-5 games and were reasonably competitive. London could show improvement and point to the 5 stars coming in and that would buy him another season unless they were a disaster. They may be nearing disaster status.
I really think there is a chance that they might not win another game. Not one. It certainly is a possibility. Oh how glorious that would be, along with a decommit or two.
So... the wahoos have a weekly talkshow in Richmond during their favorite time of the year, Football Season. "Hoos Talking" is on right before "Tech Talk Live" every Monday evening.
Things I've learned from tonight:
1) They call their defense the "orange crush" (HAHAHAHAHA!!!!)
2) They swear Rocco would be leading them to wins if he was still there
3) They feel their academic standards forbid them from really competing with others on the field
4) If they don't beat Maryland, this season is toast (probably is already)
Re: #3 - Stanford would like a word.
stanford, northwestern, michigan, hell vanderbilt would woop their asses. and dont look now hoos, here come the blue devils!
Re: the "orange crush" thing....somebody actually had t-shirts printed up with this on them. I hope they don't mind holding inventory.
re: orange crush
insert obligatory orange soda joke here
KEL LOVES ORANGE SODA!!!
I DO I DO I DO....OOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was looking at Jay Payton's 247 sports page the other day he has an offer from LOLUVA, but we haven't offered him yet because of Academics.
Funny how when you have to put your money where your mouth is you see someone's true character. Beamer cares about getting kids in the program and having them actually graduate. Head Ball Cop? Not so much.
The Bootleg's 2013 Graduation Rate Analysis
Football Graduation Rates: ACC

Wake Forest86%
Virginia Tech75%
Clemson75%
North Carolina75%

I call shenanigans on Miami's number. BC, Duke, WF those all seem legit, but I have a hard time buying that Miami number.
When they were winning, number was down. Fewer wins=fewer draft picks...
And, when you have others taking the classes for you, well, it's much easier to graduate.
Yes but they still have talent that has been getting draft and they still have attrition. My guess is that anyone who leaves they don't include in the count or something like that.
Just researching this...
http://www.hurricanesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28700&ATCLID=2...
http://www.miami.edu/index.php/news/releases/hurricane_student-athletes_...
yeah me too....but...Miami is a private school. I don't know anything about private schools except they don't have to report coach salaries. I wonder if they have a different curriculum. It's possible that the players are taking classes that lead to easy-to-get degrees. Just thinking out loud here. IF that's a legit number though it is pretty impressive.
I'm assuming that they still have to meet certain standards for accreditation purposes. While private colleges don't have to seek accreditation, most colleges private and public, especially well known ones are accredited. (An example of an unaccredited college/university would be Pensacola Christian College, or as myself and some of my fellow students at Liberty University, an admittedly very conservative-Christian school in its own right, called it: Pensacola Christian Cult)
The point of this was to show VT's grad rate higher than LOLUVa's...
How do you get an offer from LOLUVA but not VT? I thought UVA was pretty hard to get into. Even my cousin who got her bachelors at VT was put on a waiting list to get in to UVA's medical school. She went on to graduate from UVA med and went to HARVARD for her residency. Seems UVA football is just desperate.

my favorite quotes:
1)
It must suck when the best thing about football season is that it's almost basketball season.
2)
This is like comparing horse shit with pig shit. They both stink but one is slightly less offensive.
3)
Not only did I expect Ball State to kick their ass, I called it before the season started on TKP. And surely by now a Wah!hoo should be able to stomach sucking at football.
4)
Yes, LOLUVA recruits. That is your "coach" throwing you under the bus. A far cry from "Played his nuts off."
5)
hahahahahaha!
6)
So.... LOLUVA out schemed themselves. GOLD
I have a good feeling this will occur a lot sooner than in 2011:
Does this assume that their fans actually show up at Lane Stadium North?
They had something like 38k attendance at Ball State. This, of course was at the start of the game. I'm sure by mid-third quarter, it was down to like 25k. I saw a shot of the stands during their broadcast Saturday, and it looked like their spring game.
I love one of the comments on that video.
"Calemson ACC Champs
can yall say dat?? oh ok"
Can you spell?
UVA football, at least they beat the traffic
To be fair... I had a few similar thoughts about wishing basketball season would hurry up. Then basketball season arrived and I wished we had football season back. Except for Erick Green, I had a lot of fun watching that kid play.
I read the article in today's paper, and noted some of the things you mentioned. Some thoughts:
1. We in the lesser Charlottesville area can always tell how well the hoos are doing (in football) by how early the advertisements for basketball tickets start to air on tv. Oct 1 is generally the go date.
2.
...thats just plain 'ol funny!
3.
Innovative spelling! I hope you don't mind if I use that sometime.
4. Bud's catch phrase should make every man who has ever played defense want to sign up and run through a wall for him.
5. Even MAC teams can smell fresh meat.
6. There is already a guy who has a twitter account named Fire Steve Fairchild (@UVAOCStinks).
1. I imagine this is the same for UNC and Duke as well. Sucks to be them.
2. I like the classics
3. Yah, use it as much as you want. But credit goes to my grandpa, a VT grad of '39, who told me during my first visit to Charlottesville "If they're losing then they cry WAH! like a baby and if they're winning then they yell WAH!HOO! So it works for both, but mostly for the first one". Classic grandpa joke.
4. Agreed 100%. I ran through my obligatory wall this morning after just writing the words.
5. I would term LOLUVA as a rotting carcass myself.
6. GOLD
To my knowledge, I have never met your grandpa, and yet, I like him.
haha... Anyone who like my grandpa's jokes gets a turkey leg!
Oh man, how did I NOT read the comments!
The cream of the crop:
1)
smart but VT doesn't need to save his job, LOLUVA is stupid enough to keep him there anyway. Hence, the entire point of the article... sigh...
2)
Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?! Has anyone? Another classic.

3)
to which someone replied:
yes, she should have said douchey. Get it together Laura.
4)
Finally, someone who uses facts.
Dude
For those interested...
Espn shows that tix are still available for the LOLUVa @ Murland game this weekend (*gasp*, I konw, right?!)
Starting at $3!!!!!!! What a bargain!
And the game is a pick-em at this time.
This UVA futility makes me so happy. But what boggles my mind is that the ACC scheduled their next two games at 3:30 and we continue to get noon kickoffs! Wth?!
I can see the advertising now...
The Disappointment Bowl
Come see the team leaving the ACC host the team wishing the ACC would leave it alone!
Hoping for a warm welcome to the B1g for the Terps, just like the BIG12 has done for WVu.
Since I do not like the Big Ten, I hope Maryland goes in and puts a whoopin' on all 'em.
I am surrounded by Murland alum/fans.
I would like nothing better than them to finish last in a conference where the winner is 8-4, meaning the entire lot sucks.
Oh my God, the entry fee for a COKE is more expensive than admittance to their stadium.
***Laughing all the way to the Commonwealth Cup Trophy case***
Wa-who's version of putting a bag over their head:
Wa who?
Sorry, link didn't work. Still a novice at this!
what the hell? UVa did NOT make ESPN's "The Bottom 10". How is that possible?
I'm fine with LOLuva not being in the ESPN bottom 10, more job security Head Coach Time Cop.
I think the bottom 10 is reserved for the worst teams that aren't expected to be bad. Everyone knows loluva has been a doormat since Welsh retired
WKU, Akron, Buffalo, really the MAC & Sunbelt en masse have been gracing the Bottom 10 consistently when I remember to look at it (honestly, it's been a while since I've been on ESPN for anything beyond ESPN 3 games and score checking)
iirc, the way ESPN's bottom 10 works is there are 9 truly terrible teams in 1-4 and 6-10, with #5 reserved for poking fun at a decent-to-good team that fell flat on their face over the weekend.
UVA's third down defense mentioned on TV about 30 times Saturday...
this little excerpt made me laugh
"CHARLOTTESVILLE As the Virginia football teams buses rolled down Route 29 on Saturday night, headed back to campus after a nail-biting loss to Maryland, the silence was only broken up by the rain falling outside and sobs of players.
As teammates cried on the defensive bus, freshman Donte Wilkins turned in his chair to see fellow lineman Eli Harold heartbroken in the row behind him, a look of shock on his face at what had transpired in College Park hours earlier. It was unlike anything Wilkins, an All-Met from Potomac (Va.) High, had witnessed before."
This would be a good PSA for recruits: 'UVA football: East Coast Factory of Sadness'
It makes you wonder sometimes...why would recruits want to go play for something like that?
beats the hell outta me
