Ingram's four-game suspension may just give Trey Edmunds a chance to show what he's got. Unfortunately, the Saints don't play Pittsburgh or Buffalo in the first four games, but they do play Pittsburgh in Week 16.

The easy thing to say in the wake of the news of Mark Ingram's four-game suspension is that, by the end of 2017, he wasn't even the best back on his own team. And that's probably true. Rookie Alvin Kamara emerged as a more dangerous and versatile weapon. But in a way, Kamara's growth was enabled by Ingram, who shouldered the load in picking up tough yards inside, short yardage and on the goal line.

Ideally, New Orleans would like to have a mudder emerge from the pack to get the offense through the first month of the season. (Trey Edmunds, older brother of 2018 first-rounders Tremaine and Terrell, will get a look.) We'll see if that happens.

The Saints did take a running back in the 6th round. I'm just hoping Trey makes the 53 man roster past week 4.
I have a bad feeling it's going to be another brutal year for Hokies in the NFL.
he played well in garbage time last year and played all special teams. I think he will make the roster just for special teams purposes but I expect him to step up.

That's something I'd be interested in, who is more competitive amongst themselves when on different teams, the Fullers or the Edmundi?

Edmunds takes the snap. Fakes the handoff to Edmunds. Fires deep. Caught by Fuller on the Deep post. Only Fuller to beat to the end zone. Fuller with the hit and the ball comes loose. Picked up by Edmunds going the other way. And he's taken out of bounds by Fuller.
