Brandon & Bud Video (Part 1)

Brandon Flowers is one of my favorite corners to ever play for Bud. His hits (some of which are highlighted in the video) were crazy and really set the tone for the defense.

I absolutely love this, and would love to see more of these with former players.

Brandon Flower was such a boss. Those defenses were just nasty and hoping we can get back to that level of defense over the next few years.

Tech needs to put more videos like this out, I'm sure croots would love to see what Hokie NFL professionals think about Tech and about Bud, and other coaches during their time. Seeing those highlights gave me goosebumps, I have a picture with Flowers. Just really good memories for me, and I'm sure the rest of the fanbase. This goes hand and hand with the other thread about how the players feel left out. Videos like this would remind croots that we weren't half-assing it back in the day, and we getting back to that period once more.

I loved the video because that's when I was at Tech. But I wonder how much a croot would care. The video connected with me, but I love everything Virginia Tech. Would a croot feel the same or just think of it as old af?

Think about it, Dax was lured to Tech for various reasons, but what primary reason did his dad point to? Bud! No matter how young you are croots know that Bud gets the most out of kids. For croots to see that he's down to earth and relatable can only help our cause. This video does a great job of showing that side of him. Take a kid that wasn't even thinking about going to VT, they see a NFL pro-bowl caliber player talking to Bud like they just chilling on the block, is going to resonate IMO.

Great video....these guys all rocked it on special teams too. Loved watching Macho Harris back in the day. Flowers, all the Fullers....Stroman can rock some special teams too. Lunch Pail videos - keep them coming. Great for recruits and fans!! he said "half of it was...we were kind of scared of this guy" I'm scared of Bud too, and with the exception of storming the field to bring down the goal posts in 1990 after beating UVA, I've never been on the field!

Can someone please post the Video or GIF of him laying out the Georgia Tech WR in 2006. That is one of my favorite hits from him! I couldn't find it.

Do you remember about when it was in the game? I can't watch through it right now, but here's the video:

It makes you think "what could have been" if we had a top 50 offense those years

Tyrod did it, Mikey!

Bring him back as a coach!

Proud Hokie since 2004.

Awesome. Brb... going to watch that Clemson game in it's entirety.

Part 2:

I had been wondering why Brandon had been on campus so much over the past year. It makes sense now.

I haven't watched the videos yet. But there is a good article from Bitter today about Flowers getting his degree and his life post NFL. Lots of good tidbits in the article but my favorite quote:

...College football was some of the best times of my life playing on the field. So just going back down memory lane with Bud Foster, man, I just wish I could play one more down for Virginia Tech.

"In the NFL? I'm done. I don't care about playing one more snap. I retired on my own terms. I don't miss it at all. But running out of this stadium at Virginia Tech, that's one thing I do miss."

Really enjoyed this part too 😂:

"Being that I was out a decade, I was like, 'Everybody's about to see this,'" Flowers said. "This isn't about to be a thing that I did and gets swept under the rug. I'm like, no, I want the pictures, I want the cap and gown, I want to put them in my home. So this is definitely what I want to do. I wanted to walk. Because this is like an accomplishment. I want to have that moment."

Most vivid memory of a Flowers hit was on the FSU QB who was trying to take off, met up with Flowers, and got knocked tf out.

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Trying to remember if it was Weatherford or Ponder.

I think Weatherford, but can't remember. Always had a hard time finding video of it

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

It was Weathorford and Ponder came in to replace him. It was the series after Glennon got knocked out himself.

He got up and almost walked to the wrong sideline...

That's the one!

Now that is how you stop a running quarter back.
