Ended up slightly helping our SOS last season thanks to a late-season push by the Huskies.
And we will win too.
Mike Hopkins took one year to breath some new life into that program. No Fultz, no Porter brothers (and their Dad as an assistant coach), yet they were one of the big surprises of 2017-2018.
At last seasons start, they looked among the worst p5 opponents to have scheduled in terms of RPI. They wound up finishing into the top third of the PAC-12. Runs that same 2-3 defense that Hopkins learned from our good friend and outright cranky-pants, Jim Boeheim.
I expect a much closer game than last year.
This might be doable for me to get to!
Good, we don't need to go to West Coast to play them, neutral site helps with SOS and a game of practice against Boeheim's zone defense.
speaking of. Id really like to make the trip to maui for thanksgiving for the invitational. its a great line up and a good excuse to get to maui. if its still there after this volcano deal. does anyone know of any packages through VT or else where? the flights alone are ridiculous and ive been trying to shop around.
Hokies play there in November 2019
lol well thank goodness I didn't book for this thanksgiving I would have been pretty disappointed.
Until you remembered you were on Maui.
It sure would be nice if football was this easy when it comes to scheduling
If your looking to travel for Hokie basketball this season. Let me recommend the Charleston Classic.

.
I was hoping we'd be able to get Kentucky in Cassell this year after going up there last year.
I hope we are able to get one more decent P5 team, assuming we don't get the Big 10 challenge game at home this year, it doesn't seem like we'd have a big home game for non conference unless of course we get that Big 10 challenge at Home again.
Tech should be on the road for the ACC-B1G challenge this year. I'm almost certain that it rotates.
Logical B10 opponents by needing a visiting ACC team and finish in last years standing: PSU, Nebraska and Wisky
I'd like to play Wisky again. No Happ, big problems for the Badgers. Gard is working his way out of Madison, if they don't turn it around and make the tournament that could be an open job come next season. Go Tony, go!
I'd like the Hokies to go on the road and take down a team that bounced them from the tourney 2 years back. There are enough guys still around to remember that loss.
Happ is back! Now I really want to beat em'!
Damnit, we got Penn State!
Happ has literally been there for what feels like a century
Let's maul PSU and remind them to stay out of VA when shopping for football recruits!
Hm...my wife is a Seattlite and a UW fan, ..maybe I can convince her that we can make this trip...
