NBA Finals 2K18 (Part 4)

Same premise as the Stanley Cup. GS snagged the opening game. The question: will LeBron "improve" his finals record to 4-5, or will he lose a 6th? Good luck to the teams & fans.

LeBron is going to be the best player of this series, and his team is going to lose in 4 or 5. Then, he leaves in Free Agency (guessing to either Houston or Philly) and Cleveland will have a really good chance at the #1 pick next season.

Some of these 3's Steph is hitting are just absurd. at what point do you just shake your head and laugh?

I shook my head and laughed in his Davidson days. He's a human cheat code. I hate to beat this dead horse again, but I do wonder how much different VT basketball would be today had he been offered.

Agreed...could be the biggest "What if?" In hokie sports history

I mean I get that. But I also think it's possible to get over ourselves and enjoy his greatness as it is

I agree.

Just remember: in EVERY alt timeline/dimension, he came to Tech.

I've already gone as far to say that he is the greatest shooter to ever play the NBA game. Doesn't matter if you play great defense 5 ft behind the 3 point arc. He's still going to make that shot. It's crazy.

I feel this way about every team VT gets deep in the shot clock. It's like the "Hot Now" sign at Krispy Kreme comes on with 5 to go.

Hearing Oracle Arena chanting "MVP" while J.R. Smith was shooting free throws was an all-time great Finals moment.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

It's like the Cavs aren't even trying. Steph Curry is gonna have the same # of Finals Ws as Bron.

With a better record in those finals.

I don't think I've ever seen LeBron James so anemic on a basketball court in my life than in that game 4.

I think he realized it didn't matter what he did, the Cavs weren't good enough to win a single game over the Warriors. And I can't argue with that if his mind was there. He called out the first 3 games and the rest of the team just couldn't do anything.

The question now is how long does he wait to make his 2019 plans known.

My money is on Houston. They can free up the cap room, LeBron would really like D'Antoni's system, and he and Chris Paul are good friends.

I do expect Philly to make a run for him as well. They would probably make the Finals if LeBron joined them, and they have so much cap room considering all their stars are still on rookie contracts.

boooooooooring

Cavaliers listened to the media that nobody has ever one after being down 3-0. They didn't even try tonight.

More organized front office equals better coach, better players & more champs. Cleveland should've done better.

Honestly, other than maybe Houston I'm not sure there's anywhere LeBron could go where he could stop this Warriors team. Problem is for Houston, both Capela and CP3 are free agents and it's been rumored already that CP3 won't sign for anything other than the max.

I guess Philly makes sense, but I still think they are a few years away from contending against the Warriors regardless if LeBron goes there or not.

LeBron's in a tough spot, say what you want but MJ never had to get through a team like the Warriors. I think he needs at least two more rings personally to where you can legitimately consider him the best ever. This summer is likely to determine that whether he can reach that or not.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

There are clear avenues for LeBron to wind up in Houston, Philly, and Boston if he wants. The "opt-in-and-trade" like Chris Paul did last year makes a lot of sense and makes matching money easier.

I had a coworker the other day that is just a LeBron hater keep telling me how "selfish" of a player he was.

When I pointed out that James is 11th all time in assists, his only rebuttal was basically that he is so good that it makes it easy for him to find open guys.

Yeah...that's the point.

It's a debate worth having I suppose, but I get the feeling that LeBron would blanket Jordan defensively and have an edge offensively. People forget that Jordan hardly ever had to spend a ton of energy on defense, because he Bulls usually put Pippen on the other teams best guy.

People also forget that Jordan hardly ever took 3-point shots and didn't really need to master fade-away jump shots until he was old and slow with the Wizards. Those are two things that Lebron already has in his arsenal.

Still, it is silly to compare players from different eras because there are so many variables that affect what skills players needed to be successful in those eras as well as the huge jumps in training, nutrition, injury-prevention, maintenance, and treatment, and even shoe technology. Think about how many all-time greats were out there smoking cigarettes at halftime and wearing Chuck Taylors.

I kind of want LeBron with the Spurs if Kawhi stays. The rest of the team makeup would be interesting but I would love to see LeBron and Pop work together.

Now that the Colangelo Burnerghazi fiasco has been taken care of and I don't have to ditch rooting for the Sixers, come on down to Philly, LeBron. #CompleteTheProcess
