A Terp alum goes on the Sabre to say goodbye, and hopes that the rivalry will resurrect in the future, you know, being bordering states and all. (Not because MD beat them, that's for sure...)
And he gets back something to the effect of "I wish you could move the entire University!"
Stay Classy C'ville.

I have to say that was a rough read.
Their message board sucks! TKP is so much easier to read.
What a bowl of dicks
You say Bowl of Dicks, I say Hot Tub of Douches. Potato, Potata
I don't know what was worse: trying to read the original message or the responses. It was a good gesture (I guess), but it just hurt my head trying to read all that nonsense. UVA to SEC made me chuckle though.
Yeah, that was a good one. The $EC already has Vandy...
The OP has a Murland education, and his dad played football at Bammer. Guess we should have had our expectations altered accordingly. No chance I go onto their board and post that. Any of it.
I didn't even try to read the responses. The original message was a travesty of a post. It started off decently enough, with minor errors, and then just trailed off into the ramblings of an idiot.
If the OP couldn't clearly state his message, you think I'd have hope for the Hoos responding to it?
6 x 20 million = 120 million.......
Hey, watch it with the "Math", bro. They B1G. They run they own numbers.
Welcome to the B1G FAQ Guide:
Q: How many teams are in the Big Ten?
A: Twelve (soon to be fourteen)
No wonder they're in debt... they think they're earning more than they are...
I would love to go and troll the Sabre more, but cripes that is such a headache to even look at the terrible format
Wow. Those responses really help me appreciate the respect and class that fellow TKP'ers treat eachother and (in the very rare case) fans of other schools. A large proportion of the UVA fans who commented on OP's post were just being blatantly rude and obnoxious. OP was not trying to elicit a negative response from them, but he was certainly blasted anyway.
Thanks TKP for being an amazing website with respectful posters. It's refreshing to be able to come to this site for actual VT athletics information/facts/rumors/analysis (with a fair bit of humor and homerism sprinkled in the midst).
Stay classy everybody and LETS GOOO!
HOKIES!!!
Yeah, that was my thought too.
The incredibly rude responses to a guy that was trying to be decent.
WHY MUST I BE STUCK IN CHARLOTTESVILLE TODAY?! I mean damn everything about hooville sucks! The men (actually, what men?) Are pretentious as shit, the women are not attractive. At. All. Hell even the traffic patterns around town suck! UVA I really don't like you
Bumper sticker back in the day....
"Woman at the Citadel?! What's next? Men at UVA?"
I remember a couple of years ago my dad and I were driving to the spring game and one of our tires popped right off of the Charlottesville exit. As soon as we pulled over I turned to him and said, "Well yet another reason to hate Charlottesville."
How many Hoo students does it take to change a tire?
Zero, they call their parents or Roadside Assistance to do it.
Ding ding ding, Winner! Turkey leg
Alternate punchline:
Zero, that's what they pay the driver for.
at this point they'd just buy another car
If you want to feel better go get a bagel from the Bodo's on Emmet street. Then you should go to the DT mall and write GO HOKIES real big on the community chalk board
Oh I'm so gonna if I am able to! I'll even take a picture of it! (No guarantees it'll happen though)
I was gonna say, my parents did some grad schooling at UVA when I was a toddler. I don't remember everything about the place, but I remember Bodo's setting the bagel standard for the rest of my life. They do bagels right in that place. I lived on Emmet street and (shudder) actually went to basketball games at U Hall and cheered for UVA (did not know Virginia Tech existed yet, I was 3 or 4). When I saw MV7 play on TV though, my UVA days were officially done.
My high school graduation took place in U-Hall
in June
with no AC
it sucked
Mine did to. AHS '89. Growing up in Charlottesvillejust makes you hate the booHoos even more.
Don't take this personally, but if a place in Virginia - Charlottesville, no less - set the standard for bagels in your life, you haven't lived yet and clearly have never resided in northern NJ. Any bagel lover will tell you the water is what makes a great bagel, and for some reason North Jersey water (coming down straight from the Highlands) makes the best bagels. [Insert NJ Joke here] There are some shops in Florida that literally truck in water from NJ to ensure that their bagels meet the standard the snowbirds expect from a bagel.
Bodo's rocks.
I woke up at 4am on my couch this morning and saw that highlights from the WNBA were on the TV (apparently there was some sort of championship or something?). All I'll say is it wouldn't shock me if many of the women on both rosters had residences in Charlottesville.
Penn State wants MD as a rival? PSU doesn't care about anyone else, they only treat OSU, Michigan and ND as rivals because those are the storied programs.
People from UMD don't understand that it takes two sides for a rivalry to care about it for it to be one. It'll be like their basketball "rivalry" with Duke.
PSU wants more of the DC market and recruiting. OSU and Michigan treat them as a second class citizen
A serious quote from a UVA fan's reply re: the hatred they have toward UMD fans:
In all fairness, I'm sure conversations about the stock market and politics are probably more intriguing than the football game taking place in front of them. Can't make this stuff up.
"I say, the most recent intercollegiate sporting event was most disappointing for our side. I, for one, loathe the barbarian violence associated with today's interpretation of our beloved rugby."
Sounds like someone who wasn't allowed to leave the yard until he was 18.
Have they experienced a certain WVU rivalry?
I talk stock markets and politics when the time is right, but come saturday and sunday--there is football to be watched. Those conversations can wait! what a bunch of pretentious tools.
Well it irritates me to be at a tailgate, getting ready to head into Lane there are no games to check the score yet and Sportscenter is all focused on some minor SEC crap game I care nothing about.
I want to be talking football but, there is nothing to talk about except the Thursday night game.
Fer Crissakes, I was drinking coffee and eating breakfast burritos.
Sorry to rant, I had a great time at the game and love our D.
