This is my obligatory "I am going somewhere. If you are as well, come find me." post. Luckily this time I am not alone.
The Michelin GT Challenge IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (or whatever they are calling it this year). If you live anywhere near Danville and enjoy things that go fast, I urge you to check this place out. It is a hoot and a hollar. If you are planning on being there and want to find a fun group of Hokies (at least we think we are), feel free to find us or contact me. We camp in Hogpen turn, just look for VT stuff. Or email me: wasknick at gmail dot com.
If you are there at night look for something similar to this.

I went last year and had a great time but unfortunately wasn't able to go this year due to a business trip.
Cars are my second hobby behind Hokie football so I definitely will try to go again in 2018. Hope I can see you then!
It did not disappoint once again. We had a great time and found Richard Petty just chilling by himself watching qualifying. So we got to talk to him for a little while.
I saw the title of this thread and thought to myself "What is Georgia Tech doing in a Michelin Challenge?"
I have been doing some work there professionally, hope to be making a lot more trips for work (and play) in the next two years.
I do not feel like making a new thread for such a limited draw. But is anyone else hitting this up in August?
I might be attending. I try to make it to at least one event per year at VIR, since it's about 20 minutes from where I grew up.
If you want a really good steak dinner while you are there hit up The Old Country Club Steak House in Roxboro.
