Bossman @WhitBabcock earns the AD of the Year Award at @NACDA - well deserved. Representing the #Hokies in DC. It's a privilege to be part of his team. pic.twitter.com/pNUNLohqWVβ Brad Wurthman (@wurthman) June 29, 2018
Edit: I just found out one of the criteria was not paper airplanes at games so it makes sense.

Dang this needs more press. Not just conference but a national accolade.
Or much less press. I would be more than happy for the Big Dog schools (or the ACC Commish office) to not know the name Whit Babcock at all.
I'm with BigSmoooooooth on this.
Come on now. They're paying attention to things like that no matter what's in the news.
So tight.
Tight butthole.
How did he win Under Armour AD of the Year?...we're a Nike school /s
Congrats, Whit! Well done.
Maybe we WERE a Nike school......

This is something he would touch on every staff meeting. Top 30 is something he has been striving for, so glad to see it happen.
Glad he is getting recognized for the amazing work he has done. He always gets his guy.
I was on vacation at lake Chatuge on the NC/GA border for the 4th of July and I happened to meet Rob Wellbaum who works for the Auburn Athletics Department. Long story short, I was wearing a Tech shirt (duh) and he started a conversation with me about college sports. Turns out he knows Whit well from having worked with him in the past. He said Auburn had Whit at the top of their wish list when they were looking for a new AD and were prepared to (in his words) give the full court press, but Whit wasn't interested in the job and so talks never even got started.
Other items of interest: Mr Wellbaum thinks the world of Whit and his family. He has a strong appreciation of VT because of the number of similarities between the two schools. He thinks players will start getting bigger stipends but he doesn't anticipate players ever getting paid in the traditional sense. He would be shocked if Whit were to leave VT in the near future based on his lack of interest in the Auburn opening.
I seent this before...somewhere...

Love ya Fireman, but, it's the same award. The announcement was made back in March and the ceremony was scheduled for June 29. Whit was 1 of 4 FBS ADs who won.

Kudos on the share.
Now drink!
My bad, didn't see that Under Armor was sponsoring them, thought they were two separate awards.
All this drinking explains the T&F coaching post
