Installing a doggie door for the pups. Then Mrs. APFOW and I are heading to Cary to catch some women's soccer and some fireworks. Hopefully, I will not get beaten to a pulp by the Mrs. for ogling Julie Ertz.

Spent yesterday evening on the beach for fireworks and to celebrate the engagement of some dear friends. Today we are hosting extended family for independence day festivities including more fireworks. I was up at 5 to get a 9 lb pork shoulder on the smoker for some bbq

Lying on my back under my boat trailer with a sawzall and a metal cutting blade. Sweating, swearing and swatting mosquitoes, wishing dark thoughts on the previous owner. Then when done, cadging a couple of beers from the veteran next door and listening to his war stories from 'Nam. We're both Army vets, but since I wasn't in the shit like he was, I just shut up (for a change) and let him wax nostalgic and patriotic. Fireworks later, if the Mrs. wants to go.

I put a butt on the smoker last night, got up early and went for a good run. Currently eating some blueberry pancakes, and I'll be headed to some friends' house for a cookout this afternoon. It's a good day, fam.

We hung out with the neighbors Saturday night--ate, drank, shot off fireworks. Today we are just chilling at home, grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, then going to watch the fireworks tonight.

Bought a firework "cake" a couple weeks ago when I was coming through SC. First time ever doing not bottle rockets or mortar shots. I don't think I'm going back lol one fuse, 16 shots, easy peasy. Was pretty pleased with it last night. It garnered a few "WOOO"s across the lake.

Got up early and went to college to move my son's college stuff into storage and cleaning the apartment because is lease is up and his new one does not start for a month, and he is interning in DC and couldn't come. Now I'm at work because somebody screwed up a project that we need to give the customer Friday. Then meeting some friends out for dinner and going to a minor league game where my youngest works to watch the fireworks. Not what I would have chosen, but what I get for going on vacation to the Jersey Shore last week.
