And actually drove himself to the hospital!
He had triple bi-pass surgery and is in recovery.
Wishing him a quick recovery.

Sobering. Glad he's getting better. Certainly makes me take a self-look at my health & such.
Wow, it takes a real strength coach to drive oneself to the hospital after a heart attack
Probably not the safest thing to do, but I am glad he made it and survived the surgery.
Not only was it unsafe for him but others on the road, he also delayed care to himself. Please for all the GD toothaches, colds and medicine refills I've been on and he doesn't call?
Knowing ambulance times around here, I am not sure he really delayed care...
Blacksburg Christiansburg Tech all have good to great response times.
Not to take away, but it sounds like sometimes they're just not good to great (quick) enough.
The people we are going to help never think we get there soon enough. But response times for the most part inside the town limits are good.
That story is Bill Braskyesque
Get well, Gentry!
This happened last week. He's already been released and is recovering at home. Driving himself to the hospital and then pulling his own breathing tube out only adds to the legend of Iron Mike. Toughest guy I know, just look at his stache in my profile pic. I heard one time Mike Gentry counted to infinity.... twice.
Why did he pull his breathing tube out? This guy sounds really irresponsible lol.
Agreed. Please listen when a medical professional or emergency responder tells you what to do. Save the defiance for politicians and day care. :)
Downvoted no politics or day care
/ssssstrengthcoach
yea we here at TKP take our day care seriously
To be honest, if you listen to that video, he says that he has no idea how he did it. He think she he might have gained conciousnous after surgery and then ripped it out.
Breathing tubes are seriously uncomfortable. My grandmother was placed in an induced coma and they had to restrain her because she kept pulling her breathing tube out while unconscious. He could have done it while under anesthesia.
Thanks for posting, encouraged by his testimony and courage.
