Bigger part of this story is this isn't the first instance of spousal abuse on his record. Why the he,l he coaching at a top tier school?
His grandfather was Earle Bruce. Basically nepotism.
Appears there are sexual abuse allegations too with swimming and diving, wrestling, and other programs.

Seems to be a common theme in the Big10
All of the instances have occurred as part of Urban Meyer's staff. Looks like Meyer isn't concerned with the character of players, or employees, as long they help them win.
Meyer sat idly as anOSU turned to ashes around him, squeezing his eyes shut and pretending the only thing he noticed was the mediocre Papa John's pizza he'd begun to consume.
The story below it is much better...
Reiff, 22, was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he mistook a police car for an Uber ride.

Having lived in Iowa I found this really funny. But at least the guy was looking for a safe ride home. Not like he tried his keys in the cop car. Still 2.5 times the legal limit is "impressive."
We may need to get a separate thread going for this, but what's dumbest thing you've done while drunk?
not a good thread for TKP...
Preemptive Thread Summary:
When SoupHokie realizes SaladHokie used his laptop overnight again, posting in that thread...

Where did you live in Iowa? My wife is a Hawkeye from Des Moines, and we've spent some time there.
Cedar Rapids. Lived there for two decades between 2006 and 2010.
Corrected: two
Decades???? 4 years is not long to me.
1 Cedar Rapids year = 5 normal years therefore 2 decades.
I didn't know that there was a time vortex in Cedar Rapids. Never encountered one in Des Moines. But it's a lovely state.
Sort of reminds me of Otis, from The Andy Griffith Show. He would walk in and put himself into his own cell for the night.
2015 felony assault charge on his wife and he has been coaching since. That is crazy. The case is still open for that from what I read but still...
Why would that case still be open?
Lawyers...
Heard she fought back and he got the worst end of the deal

After a quick googling, I can't even figure out what state it was in. Different sources say different things about the 'openness' of that case. Different states have different definitions for what 'open' might even mean in a case like that. Also some things that indicate to me that the 'case' that is still 'open' may be the couples' divorce and/or custody dispute, which given the contentious (and potentially violent) nature of their ongoing relationship, I would expect it to be.
My educated guess is that if there was a 2015 criminal case (about which I'm not convinced) it is not open, because I would think that means that either: a) he would still be going to court, or b) he would be on some kind of supervision. Since 2015 was post Ray Rice, if there was something to either a or b, I think he would have been suspended/fired at the time.

Sloppy journalists who don't know what the fuck they're looking at in the Court records they got their hands on and want to sensationalize because hermagerd football people all beat their wives.
