But there might be something different about Isaiah Ford, who ranks at or near the top of Miami's most pleasant surprises over the past three months.
The Dolphins' seventh-round pick in 2017, who missed all of last season because of a preseason knee injury, made an acrobatic catch in the end zone during Sunday's practice, one of a bunch of impressive receptions he's made since the start of practices in May.
And receivers coach Ben Johnson admitted Sunday that the Dolphins "were shocked he was still there in the seventh round. We felt like we were getting a steal when we got him in the first place. We liked him better than the seventh round."

Glad he's somewhere where he's valued in addition to performing well in camp.
Glad to see he is showing potential and hopefully gets some PT this year. After watching since 1998, I believe he is the best pure WR vt has ever had. Fastest or quickest, no, but boy could he run great route and catch almost everything
Cam Phillips had a highlight TD for tap yesterday too.
Something feels wrong about that.
You mean because Peterman didn't just throw it right to the defender?
It reminded me of the 4th and 1 vs GT attempt π’
I mean he basically did. The defender mistimed the jump and Cam went and got it but I'd hardly feel great about that play by Peterman if I'm a Bills' coach or fan.
But Bill's fans would feel great about it because all they really want is long pass attempts regardless of the outcome.
I guess...I know that was one of the criticisms of Tyrod, but I've seen plenty attempts of him throwing the ball down the field to Sammy when healthy...that offense never really had a burner like that anyway...other than Goodwin.
Great catch! Did he land on grass or did he land on that weird stuff that UVA thinks is a rock?
Damn Cam
Why was he scrambling? There's no rush.
He rolled outside of the pocket. Also, he's not a good QB, so there's that too.
When did Cam switch over to DB?
Bold prediction alert...I Ford will be the next Antonio Brown.
Definitely bold.
I'd be thrilled if he was even just the next Antonio Freeman.
Not quite at Brown's level, but Freeman certainly had a really nice career.
I'll take Freeman and his super bowl ring to Brown's pro bowl trips. Let's go Ford! Get that ring!
Disclaimer: I'm not saying Brown won't get a ring, just saying he doesn't have one.
Hope Ford has a nice career, too, but teams go to Superbowls, not just receivers. Freeman had a hell of a solid career, but Brown is putting a HoF career together, and if he sustains his performance for another 5 years will be in the conversation for top 5 receivers of all time.
Then why didn't you take him earlier!!!
talked to momma ford the other day! going to go down to a phins game with her this year. she said he is doing great in camp and is soooo happy to be healthy and still have a chance. was really down last year even though youd never know. its great to see him showing out. he could very very easily be the #4 guy for them with devonte parker, Kenny stills, and danny amendola. Id love to see him be able to pass one of those guys on the depth chart but itll be tough baring any injuries.
Another article about Ford "crushing it" at camp:
clicky
I always knew that Ford would go electric.
Boogie woogie woogie.

Proud of you Isaiah!
Quin Blanding certainly was an impact player on this play....
Few of us could A. Ford that many upvotes

Yes. He made an impact on the field when he went thud.
