Good pickup that should end the 2018 recruiting class

isn't he a 2019 kid?

I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me.

yeah unless he's reclassifying, 247 lists him as 2019

Annnnd... , now he's listed as 2018.

boy, he is fast rising!

EDIT: Looks like he's coming this fall. Link Here

Looks like a Paul Pierce/Marcus Smart-type based on the (very) limited film I can get on him. OKG potential. It'd be great if he had a better career than UVa's Isaiah Wilkins.

He was originally class of 2018 but it was believed he was going to require a year at Hargrave Military Academy to balance out his age versus those in his class as he is a year ahead of his classmates age wise. Not sure what changed there but thats why I had shown him as Class of 2019. It appears pursuit by two ACC programs swung him back in the other direction as both Tech and Wake Forest came in late on him. He averaged 22.2 points per game last season, leading his team to a 23-7 record.

Nice to finally have some good news about the basketball program. My God, the last two weeks have been bleh.

"Now Miami wants to talk about it." *Cue Enter Sandman*

Wait, does that mean Buzz IS NOT bolting VT?!

Welcome Home, Isaiah Wilkins!

Even has the marketable name of a SG. Welcome home!

Yep, I was wondering if he was related to the Human Highlight Reel

When I first saw the tweet on twitter my reaction was sweet Buzz got a big man (from the pic on the tweet he looks like he could be a big) then I clicked on his profile and saw he was a SG/SF. Welcome to hokie nation!

1-0 every week

Looks like he's been through the CP3 organization. Invaluable mentorship & experience that he'll bring to the team.

If he's coming this fall, does that mean that Jarren McAllister is indeed leaving, or was there an extra scholly available all along?

There are enough schollies for both (presuming Fullard is walk-on status again)

Would Buzz really yank a guy's scholarship like that after making such a big deal over awarding it to him last year? Seems like it would be a bit of a dick move to me.

Usually when they give out those extra scholarships they are only for one year, unless there are available scholarships the following year. He probably told Nick it was a one year thing

I could see that being reasonable, if it's the case.

It is normally the case. Its a surprise gift when they weren't expected to receive anything while here. If you have to justify it, look at Fullard's stats from last season. He played a total of 14 minutes last season. He did not register a single point.

Yes, I realize that Fullards contributions on the floor were minimal, at best. I follow him a lot more closely than other bench players, just because he and I went to the same high school. I thought that in the last few years football changed their scholarships from 1-year to 4-year and just assumed that hoops did the same.

I think they have the option to make them more than 1-year, but don't necessarily have to.

Even with football, its a school by school determination if they offer a full four year scholarship or one year renewable, they appear to be able to do it by student, rather than as a whole. See the article below for some good information albeit being a few years old, not much has changed.

I've watched Isiah play since he was a freshman. He's money from the corner 3, and he's a blanket on defense. Very quick off the dribble and can go get his own shot.

Good kid. He and the Hokies can definitely help each other out.

Leonard. Duh.

Good kid.

Well since he's still 17, I'll go ahead & give this statement a pass.

If he's younger or the same age as my children, they're "kids."

That's one of the reasons I opt out of the TheKeyPlay Hermione Granger fixation.

Leonard. Duh.

Are your children legal, actual, factual adults?

Errry one of them.

Leonard. Duh.

Then LEGALLY & TECHNICALLY they're not kids.

Technically correct, the best kind of correct

They're his kids.

Wasn't debating that. However, they're not legally kids.

Nothing legal here... Perspective and relativity, dude.

Not a jab @ you, just a reaction to the suggestiveness of the statement.

That would...not...have been my reaction to the statement.

Leonard. Duh.

The rule is your age, divided by two + 7, right?

Wow, I'm almost out of 20 year olds.

Wow, I hadn't thought of half-plus-seven in years. Which for me is now north of 30.

The good news is as you get older that acceptable area gets bigger.

The bad news is as you get older that acceptable area gets older, too.

Grandpa was dating a 44 year old in his 80's so I am not saying anything.

I pray I am still feeling frisky when I am in my 80's. Props to Grandpa.
