A couple weeks ago I bought something online for about $60 from a small company that makes their products by hand. I immediately received a confirmation email with a link to their cheap, basic website where I could see the status of my order (Order Received, Processing, Out for Delivery, Delivered, etc). They gave me a USPS tracking number like most online retailers in 2018.
When I go to hokietickets.com to check the status of my $1,060 tickets (tickets, seat cushions, and parking pass), it says "Not Available" under Order History. Based on the website, it looks like I don't even have tickets assigned to me.
Why is it that a business the size of Virginia Tech Football can't provide the same level of service and communication as a small business that only got $60 of my money?
I'm not asking for much, just an automated email or a website that works.

The delay appears to be at the ticket printer. According to VT the original ship target date was the beginning of last week, with delivery by the end of the week. This original ship date was slipped to Mon-Wed this week by the printer. It appears this didn't happened as Louisville UPS has had no advanced notice.
As an example, West Virginia tickets shipped from the printer yesterday and Louisville has been warned that they will hit the "afternoon sort" today.
So what this means is that the earliest delivery date for "VT" tickets is Monday (if they ship from the printer today).
By all indications this is out of VT hands. Once they hand the ball off to the printer...
Queries have been made to the printer about when the VT tickets will ship. I will post back if they reply.

email announcement we received says that the tickets do not have to be signed for... but if it was recognized as a bad address they would be returned to VT. What city are they being delivered to?

MrsCBRDog advised you need to call the UPS where the tickets are headed. They can redirect them. If in Roanoke we can help, but I seem to recall you were NOVA or somewhere.

They do not have to be signed for. I think if you create an account on the UPS site you can change the destination address though.
But dude...you gotta change that address. I changed our address with the ticket office and HC before I changed it with our bank when we moved. Ya know...priorities.

I was told by the ticket office that they're being shipped this week and some people will get them by Friday.
Yeah...I need mine to arrive by Friday since I won't be home next week to bring them inside.

The printer came back and said that the tickets are shipping out today, which means Monday delivery for most folks.
Side note: If you are not going to be around for Monday delivery, you can call your local UPS and ask them to hold them at will call.
Just got an email saying tickets were shipped and provided a tracking number.
Shipped yesterday but no delivery date on it. I assume Saturday or Monday since it is 2 day air.

Old address is in coastal SC new in Jacksonville FL.
