Every school has things they're good at. UVa has programs that I can't blame anyone for attending, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend they attend.

Luckily, I won't have to worry about having to recommend anyone go there to play football any time soon.

Did you also know that no. 1 ranked Uva lost to a 16 seed in the NCAA tourney? A first of it's kind.

For the first few months of the site's existence more than half of the content posted came from Huffman and Ohanian themselves, using dozens of pseudonyms. But as real users slowly gathered, Ohanian began to spend hours writing handwritten notes to redditors and mailing them gifts. "I used to get annoyed at him. It was so inefficient," says Huffman, who took the technical lead on the site. "But it created this really strong mutual sense of affection for Alexis from Reddit users and for Reddit users from Alexis."

They were in the right place at the right time, and determined to make it work. It was certainly a great idea, billed as a "Front page for the internet". Others have also had this idea, but reddit ultimately got some good financial backing behind it and is a good format.

Then they sold it, and founded a thing called Hipmunk. At that point they start sounding more like UVa grads.

A Virginia Tech grad founded and started TKP, so we have that going for us.
