I saw that tweet earlier today and thought damn, it's hard to be that bad at rushing for so long.
And yet we've found a way. Fortunately, 2018 gives us our best chance yet of turning that around.

Holy fuck we have been terrible. But honestly it makes sense. I havent felt good about a running back since DW4.

Not really? Their ACLs gave out halfway through the same season that they broke out.
But they made that half a season look good. It was enough that everyone kept talking about them post injury even though neither was much of a contributor again.
They were good, but not gamebreakers. We have not had a game breaker since David Wilson IMHO. Makes points hard to come by.
I think Shaincould have been that gamebreaker as a sophomore/junior. Before he was injured, he seemed like he had it. I don't think Marshawn would have ever been a gamebreaker, but he was going to be a solid 3-4 yards a carry back.
No. I felt like they could have been good, but they never got to tge point where i felt good about them.

I thought Marshawn was going to be a solid, but not great, back. Still would have loved to see him finish out though.
And IMO McKenzie would be one of those guys who would look great against lesser competition, but struggle against more athletic teams when the gaps and tacklers close quicker. His smoothness fooled you into thinking he was explosive.

Auburn v Washington seems like a fantastic game to me. The other two I would watch as well but doubt they'll be the best games that week.

It doesn't matter. Win some games and we'll be on this all important list. Herbie was talking us up against Clemson last year about how Fuente is doing a great job, we're a young team, and that we're building something. It just takes time.

I don't have the exact stat handy, but I would guess VT is 1-15 or so in games called by Kirk Herbstreit on Saturdays/prime time. We have probably done better when he used to do Thursday games, but since he moved to the big chair, when he sees us live, we typically lose. That might be clouding his judgement.
When he sees us love on a Saturday, we're usually up against a better team.
