Perhaps the community would have, but I would not. It was a forum post title. If it was a non-descriptive title, a mod would have changed it, and that's it. It would have been no big deal.
No one who does click bait provides specifics: a name, "2019 OL", etc...
I understand why he made the click bait comment.
But I have to side with Joe on this one. In my mind click bait requires that the title either highly overhypes or misrepresents the substance in the article.
Here I think it is a hype-up title but the substance lives up to it. I doubt many o-line recruits score on a pick-six (plus I believe it's the first td of his life).
I had zero regrets clicking on article (unlike actual clickbait).
What exactly is "click bait"? It's not addressed in the community guidelines. It seems there is some community regulation. Does it warrant an official definition?
I personally do not see anything wrong with this thread and do not necessarily see anything wrong with titles that attract attention as long as the content is related to the title. Beyond that I think there is gray area with respect to how much "value" any person gets from clicking on the article. That would seem incredibly hard to define and even harder to regulate.
No, clickbait is not addressed in the community guidelines, per se. Clearly Joe (and the majority of the TKP community) doesn't see this title as clickbait. Clickbait is a title that implies something more outrageous than reality to draw people in. Usually they are sufficiently vague so as not to be outright lying about the content. In this case, I call clickbait because the entire content is that Hanson scored a TD while playing defense, but the title implies his doing something rare in his capacity as an O-lineman. I don't think anyone clicked on the article expecting something as (relatively) mundane as a D-lineman scoring a fat man touch down. Ergo, clickbait.

He's an O-lineman. He scored a touchdown, which few ever get to do. All in the title. No clickbait by your own definition.

He was on defense. ok, but he's still an o-lineman, specifically our OL recruit. They very rarely score... ever. And Joe and French, and many on TKP, have shown love for fat man touchdowns.
I get it. I love fat man touchdowns. It's fine. Not disappointed by the content, just not what I was expecting given the title. Honestly, I thought it was gonna say Hansen completed an iron man triathlon.

Agreed. To me, click-bait is a title that conceals the lede, such that you need to click through to the article to figure out what's important. The title of this post meets that description.

Jesse looked good last night. He's a mauler for sure, but not terribly athletic. I'm fairly certain he'll play inside for Tech.
Definitely a guard. Pretty amazing how far our OL recruiting has come in the past few years when he's the OL commit I'm least excited about.
He should earn major points with the fan base with as quickly as he reaffirmed his pledge after the Clemson offer. Tech's o-line recruiting is trending really strong. Fuente has signed a bevy OL with other legit P5 offers. That's not how business used to be done.
Pretty amazing. We'd be gushing about Hanson if it weren't for the young bucks already in the program and coming in this class with Hanson. Hudson is just 100% the real deal and Pritchard is the best true OC recruit I can remember us taking.
Is it just me, or has this narrative been a complete 180 from just a year ago too? I seem to remember an awful lot of people being very concerned about the fact that we weren't pulling in either enough numbers, or enough talent. Now it seems like Vice is a real bright spot as far as recruiting goes. Hopefully the development side ends up being a strength as well!
Yes, it certainly has. Vice's recruits hadn't shown their potential yet, and while Teller and Nijman were seen as talents, I don't think Vice was being given the credit for coaching them. I think there was a perception that Vice was a bit of a weak link in the coaching chain.
Fascinating what a difference a year makes.
Hopefully we will say the same about DL soon.

I call shenanigans. He wasn't playing OL at the time. I did catch a pass and ran for about 20 yards WHILE PLAYING OL. It didn't count, but it happened.
