Matte Maroon! I love it! Been saying that since the Russell Athletic Bowl. Matte maroon is a good idea....Fighting Gobbler, while I love the logo, is not a good helmet logo.

Always been one of my favorite Hokie looks to rock the all whites with the maroon helmet (I love the white helmet too).
The ONLY thing that could make these "perfect" would be white face masks.

Um... what? It's a maroon helmet with a VT, and white jersey and pants with orange and maroon accents. I mean, I get that our "away look" is typically maroon-white-maroon, but this is pretty damn close and also a combo that we've worn a number of times before, but this time with a much classier helmet.

I am not one to get excited about uniforms, but I absolutely love the matte helmet.
If it's not all white everything, white pants suck. But fuuuuck those helmets are nice.

After seeing the jmu and ole miss unis that are all white with white helmets I am very happy that we will have the maroon helmets.

I think this absolutely means foghorn leghorn decals with Hokie tracks down the middle in Orange digi camo.

i am surprised those decals are put on like that, free hand...i would've expected them to use a template or fixture of some kind to make sure they were all put in the same location

I would definitely be the worst equipment manager ever then I can't even get the small stickers to attach to my hard hat correctly without wrinkles I can't imagine trying to do those stickers on all those helmets for all the different combinations
Dude, as sweet of a job as this might be, I couldn't do it... I am HELLA anal about sticker placement. If I was a millimeter off I'd have to trash it and start over.... Boss would come in to find me waist deep in wrinkled up stickers still trying to get the first helmet just right.
Side note, these helmets are straight fire
I used to work on RVs, and occasionally we'd have to replace the giant-ass swirls on the side. This is something we have little experience doing. And It's expensive to mess up.
There were a few tricks we were taught- spray the surface with windex to make the decal more forgiving, use a credit card sized squeegee; it might take 20-30 minutes but it would generally work.
Then the lead tech would come over, tell us we were too damn slow and smack the next one on flawlessly with no tools in less than a minute.
What 5* recruit is the model for these that will leave us later??
