Since we took down #9 Notre Dame, we're ranked 7th! Normally I wouldn't follow Women's Soccer but they're balling out right now. Mad Respect and Go Hokies!
they're legit why do you guys think i keep giving them a shoutout on the weather blog?! they have a few girls on the team that have been starting since their true freshman year and a keeper that plays for the Canadian U21 National team (Canada is really good in womens) and Ashley Meier who made the U21 US national team (which in case you didnt know is REALLY GOOD) this team is stacked in the midfield and D and coupled with two senior forwards and a freshman whose made immediate contributions and you've got a pretty legit team, cant believe we didnt get any love from the polls in the beginning of the year

7 in RPI, 6 in the coaches poll which is what they use for rankings. The win against ND was a great win and I think there could have been a couple more goals scored. The ref made mistakes both ways, but really cost Tech with two plays, one that should have been penalty shot and another where the ref gave an advantage (that resulted in a goal) but the linesmen gave offsides when it was really close and the goal was disallowed. Colpitts is about as outstanding of a keeper as you can have and made the keys saves she needed to.
They play #19 wake forest tomorrow which will be huge. Then they get Pitt on the road followed by a matchup with current #3 FSU. They close out with Miami at home and then at UVA who ranked #1. As I've said before, the ACC is stacked in soccer, especially womens.

This was one of my points in the freshman advice thread, but it's worth repeating:
If you are a male student and you are not attending women's sports then you are missing A LOT that VT has to offer. Show up, make signs, learn their names, paint your chest, be loud, or do whatever rowdy but respectful thing you can think of. If you keep going to games (especially if you make a road game) repeatedly the team will LOVE you.

I didn't catch on to our Softball team until my junior year which by that time my girlfriend (now wife) and I had been dating for 2 years. If she could have her thing for Danny Coale, I saw nothing wrong with me appreciating those women.

Attending a women's volleyball team match on a whim my freshman year was one of the best decisions my friends and I made. Volleyball was our goto but we went out to women's soccer and track and field as much as possible too. Something about female pole vaulters and javelin that always drew us in....

I caught the end of a women's volleyball game against Wake one year before the Midnight Madness or the equivalent. Those beautiful ladies reminded me of the Amazonian women from Futurama. Death by snu snu!

When do they play LOLUVA? They're ranked #1.
Halloween!
As a brother of a former VTWS player, it makes me happy to see this post. They're finally getting some deserved national attention.
Soccer women.
Turkey leg for that!
Hell yea! Go VT women's soccer!!!
Great to see non-football VT sports succeeding. Hopefully the campus is paying attention to the success! Go Hokies!
Pics or it didn't happen

I take it that you have a thing for women handling long poles?
haha... ok, so how do I say "Only my own" subtly? jk... Here is the only reasoning you need:
'nuff said
Clearly she knows how to handle a pole. AMIRITE? AMIRITE? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOL HAHAHA LOL HAHAHAHA LOLUVA HAHAHA

or scream Shenanagins really really really loud when the ref makes a bad call...just sayin
50% of the top 10 are in the ACC. That's impressive.
so...does that make the ACC the SEC of soccer...?
That's usually how it goes for non-football. We pretty much own basketball (not the AAC anymore haha), soccer, baseball, and lax.
this is why notre dame joined ACC
2-1 OT victory over #19 Wake Forest tonight. Go Hokies!
