So I've recently seen 2 posts get over 100 votes and 'gone plaid' and this was new to me. I thought the only recognition was just +10. This got me thinking, what are the other color changing metrics for posts? If the post went -100, would it go plaid in UVA colors?

Read: Grey
+10 Upvote: Green
+100 Upvote: Orange/Maroon plaid

Joe (and possibly VTGM) can, in fact ban hammer people. It has been done in the past when a user is guilty of conduct unbecoming a TKPer, but community policing was ineffective or simply not a strong enough response to the user's antics. Arnie, for instance, was straight up banned by Joe (penalty box, as he put it).

I just read this all the way through for the first time. It's freaking hilarious in its own right. technically my latest Bud Foster "MacFoster" gif got something like 230+ legs but it was from 3 separate posts so I imagine some people were generously legging it multiple times. I think one single post got up around 150 one time, but I haven't gone back to check.
Would be cool to have a "most legged" list. I wouldn't necessarily call it a Hall of Fame because some of the most legendary things on TKP come from before the community was so large, but it would be interesting to see that list.

You know, the W&M game was the first time I really noticed the paper airplanes, and it did suck to have them smacking the back of my head. (It's the newer free programs that are the source of the paper, btw). But there was an impressive moment where someone from high up in section 39 tossed an airplane down, and we were all mesmerized, watching it glide down to the field, where the wind currents kept it afloat and changing direction. It ended up landing around the 3 yard line, in between the hashes.
That's why you heard a bit of a cheer from that side of the field right when we got some penalty for smacking their QB or something.
I saw it on TV. It landed right before they cut away from the shot. I was awaiting the cheer, but wasn't loud enough for me to pick it up on the TV.

Slightly OT: One unheralded (but widely invoked) natural feature of this community moderated system is the *drink* tag. I don't know how many times I've read twitter comments or video comments online and it's patently obvious the commenter(s) read none of the previous responses. It helps that this community is more engaged with the subject matter and generally posts interesting/valid comments or opinions, but still refreshing and impressive that we can get hundreds of posts deep in a short amount of time and have very few if any repeats.
(I'll allow leeway for live game threads; until we can post straight from that chip in our head or SKYBEEFY gets launched, there will be some lag)
