I cant help but feel like this is better for us but worse for his health. I hate to see a kid get hurt, but hard to believe he wont get hit and reinjure himself.
He wouldn't be playing if he wasn't physically ready...I doubt Cut would allow it. This isn't better for us.
It's better for us if they limit him in the run game.
So record setting QB run day /s
Either this dude is a monster or really fucking stupid.
I am going to be holding my breath everytime we get close to hitting him.
Up to him and the coaching staff of course, but this seems like a monumentally bad idea.
What the fuck kind of wolverine shit
Huh?
Wolverine's mutant ability is extremely rapid healing and manipulation of his skeleton.
This seems like bad move by Cut, if Jones did actually suffer a broken collarbone. Considering how inept our defense looked last week, I would think starting Harris and bringing in Jones if the game got completely out of control would be the better option.
But our best pass rusher is gone, so maybe Cut is thinking there's less risk
The only thing I can figure is that they described it as a "collarbone injury" and that it must not have a broken collarbone, it was a fracture but far less severe than the typical broken collarbone, or Duke's med school had a supply of stem cells they were willing to inject into him. Bones just don't miraculously grow and develop twice as quickly.
So what you're saying is that Duke has a store of Skele-grow

That was... fast.
For his sake, I hope they aren't just tossing him out there because this is a key game for them, hoping he doesn't get hurt.
Well he is 0-2 against us - so let's make it 0-3!
Did Cut think the NFL roughing the passer rules apply to college? I wonder if he makes it through the 1st quarter
If I were still playing LB, that would be a prime opportunity to re-break some bones tonight.
wow
Hopefully we don't have to change our Gameplan now that he's back
Crazy how Rocky ended the Cold War with a boxing match.
History will long remember his famous words, "If you can change! And I can change! Then we all can change!"
I suspect this is a bit of "smoke and mirrors"... There isn't a chance he plays the entire game. Two QBs rotating might be more detrimental to this D than just about anything.
You were right.
He didn't play the whole because they pulled him when the game went out of reach.
Feel for the kid but we have to get after him tonight
HIT HIM!
It shouldn't matter, but this wouldn't be the first time this season someone tried a little last minute misdirection in the QB position vs VT.
And it worked brilliantly the first time.
This time, though, we should make them pay dearly & permanently for it.
Cutcliffe our thought himself on this one. Jones is a very good passer, but his threat on the run is a significant part of his game. They took that away from him which made the rest of their running gane easier to defend. Cut thought they would be better attacking us down field like ODU did instead of running QB.
I think he was wrong. Harris creating a more viable running game would have been a bigger threat.
