Less distraction pure football

I love a good nap. Sometimes that's all that's getting me out of bed in the morning.

This. See ODU (distraction of a practical home coming for so many players).

Beat ND, stay hot and maybe they come for Miami.

Well shit. I think from a character building for a young team perspective, I like this. Focus on the shit that matters. From a fan experience perspective, I'm disappointed. Was hoping to show my cousin his first taste of GameDay in Blacksburg. Oh well. Still gonna be a sweet atmosphere for the prime time kickoff.

I'm cool with no Gameday. Just a long day of tailgating and less noise around campus. Let's the staff focus on what matters.

Just keep winning and force them to come see us host Miami.

Don't lose to ODU and this is in Blacksburg. But we did and now they are going to the biggest game with a bigger rivalry.

Unless Tx hadn't lost to MD as well...undefeated Tx vs undefeated Ok would be a hard ticket to pass up

As you wish

I actually prefer this with a team as young as we have....

Of course I had no chance of going, so maybe i subconsciously convinced myself of that....

Warning- Filter lost.

"Look at this... This is just spectacular.... These people are losing their minds"

Game Day for a nooner? Jim Weaver approves.

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

Even worse I'm pretty sure kick off is at 11:00 AM their time.....

"Can't argue with that logic" - Rick Sanchez

And we all hope and pray Texas gets destroyed

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Not upset about this at all. If they came to Blacksburg the ODU loss probably gets a lot more airtime.

This. The announcers brought it up enough last night that if it were a drinking game we all woulda been trashed

I must have been doing it wrong. I didn't realize there needed to be a drinking game for me to get trashed.

Somebody really needs to let me know these things ahead of time, before I start drinking.

So, like, last Wednesday would have been a good time for that warning.

With Herbie on the call next week, we should add "penetration" and some variation of "defense standing around with their hands on their hips" to the drinking game.

Guess I've never noticed this, but I'll be checking for these phrases on Saturday. lol

He's a pretty big proponent of "pin their ears back" as well.

Leonard. Duh.

I always feel bad for the players on the nooners on the west side. Wvu and Texas tech had an 11am start local time. Crazy, even as a fan I'd have a hard time gettin up to tailgate for that early of a start.

Fugazy

It's simple. Don't get up.......stay up!

Not getting to host GameDay is pretty unfortunate. It's a missed opportunity to get more airtime in the national spotlight and show off for recruits. Let's hope the team can go on a winning streak and make the matchup with Miami in November irresistible.

I really hate gameday for neutral site games... Oh well

Especially ones that arnt even the biggest event taking place at that neutral site. Competing with the fair

I mean it's COLLEGE gameday. I thought the whole point was to go to different college campuses. Not random cities where a game is being played

Random city?? The Cotton Bowl is the fabric of this game. Yea, it's a 'neutral site', but it's not out of the norm by any stretch. They've been playing this game at the Cotton Bowl since 1932 and will be until at least 2025...That's nearly 100 yrs of tradition. That ain't "random".

Having a conversation with you is like a Martian talking to a Fungo.

.

I don't think the game competes with the Fair. The game is the main event of the fair itself.

I really hate gameday for neutral site games

Fify

I think we shoulda seen this coming, especially with both Oklahoma and Texas ranked for the first time in a few years.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

It sucks but honestly it's what we deserve. Would have been a near guarantee if we took ODU seriously.

Exactly. We didn't earn it. I'm cool with it

Ok I'm about to speak the truff and I don't care if I get downvoted.......

I hate the hype that we get, as a fan base, from gameday. The thing last freaking forever, you have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn to even see the top of Herby's head and it's like riding a roller coast of emotions. ( yell during the show, can hear a pin drop during the commercials)

It's draining even more so since it starts at 8 with preview shots and then isn't over till 12. It takes a lot out of the younger fan base who hasn't learn the proper definition of pacing at anything in life.

To Gameday, you were a fun idea but VT deserves a well rested and supercharged fan base and no more distractions.
