Can confirm as the gay man super into football and all things Virginia Tech that this is one of my peoples' national holidays. Although this was not the cross post I was expecting today...
I welcome it and your brave searches for gifs, carry on gentleman and make sure our linemen are eating their Swedish Kalteen bars to get big and strong...

I had no idea this was a thing until I saw my facebook feed this am. There are worse things, I guess. Mean Girls is great if only for the quotes and memes.

I didn't mean my comment to sound quite as glum about my feelings toward Mean Girls as it does. I absolutely love the movie and think it's pretty damned funny. I was forced to watch it at first by the Mrs., but it has become a guilty pleasure. My disdain was more toward the Mean Girls Day. All of that being said, do I think it's a great movie? Meh. Do I think it's a hilarious and fun movie? Yep.

Mean Girls is a genuinely fucking hilarious movie, written by Tina Fey btw. Anyone who can't appreciate good comedy just because it's about women needs to take a serious look at themselves (not directed at you, Warthog). If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it.

One of my best friends has a sister that ended up out in LA as a hair stylist. She is the personal stylist for Elle Fanning, but also works with Lacey Chabert. She posts Facebook and Instagram photos of the two of them all the time, and let me say Lacey is still well qualified.

Stop trying to make Mean Girls Day happen
ECU would probably still cancel our game early...

Brian Kelly is still trying to make "fetch" happen.
Wrong thread, but I like it!
(That's the point) It's kind of meta, even for me.
YOU GO, GLENN COCO
Edit-My bad, opened the wrong thread
What the actual fuck? Is this some new millennial thing?
Check out the Twitter hashtag.

I'm lost too! Attractive lady gifs keep me scrolling to learn more however.
No one over the age of 16 should use the phrase "what the actual fuck".
false
Touché
True story. First time I watched Mean Girls was on the bus ride with the team on the way to play UNC in 2005.
The football players loved it.
The same reason firefighters love watching House Hunters and such. Because it's not serious and takes your mind off the more serious parts of life.
It was Lindsey Lohan at her most hot, and it's a genuinely funny film with good performances from just about the whole cast.
Mean Girls Lindsey Lohan was overqualified.
Harry Potter SNL skit.
Nice pull. Now excuse me while I go beat my bludger
We, here, at TKP, are obviously not football players. (Save for a few, I guess.)
Maybe they also watched it on the way to ODU and then we could have clarity on the problem.

Man some of y'all need to lighten up. Mean Girls was hilarious. It's okay for guys to like movies like Mean Girls.
Also, Lizzy Caplan (Janis) became the most qualified actress in the movie. Followed closely by Lacey Chabert (Gretchen) and Rachel McAdams.
While I am in agreement about the qualifications of Lizzy (who, random fact, shares a birthday with me), Rachel belongs at the top of that list.

Has anyone on this thread insinuated that they don't like the movie because it's about women?
Easy there, Trigger.
IF YOU DIDN'T THEN YOU DON'T LOVE ME DESERVE ME AT MY AT MY

What'chu talkin 'bout WILLIS?

My wife wore pink and dressed our 2 yr old in pink today. I just kept my mouth shut and kept my green shirt on.
So people are celebrating the mean girls, or not the mean girls?
It's a decent movie, but of all movies THIS one gets a day?
They did mention the date in the movie.
I mean, it's not like there are any other movies related to anything significant that happened on this date. Like, 25 years ago today. Right?
