Shall we go ahead and start firing up flight trackers for our annual panic season? Will Baby Beamer be in his ear? Just how many Oklahoma games does Frank go to every year?

They put Ruffin McNeil in as interim I believe.
McNeill should be the permanent. Hope he does well and hope ECU chokes on his success after the fookin they gave him.
He'll likely get the job permanently. Him and Lincoln Riley have a long standing relationship, and have hired each other at various other schools.
Not concerned with the other Stoops coming to VT or it indirectly causing one of our coaches to head west. I am curious if Stoops would be coming to ACC country. Not sure who is on the hot seat this early. I'd imagine Fedora is a least warm.
Paul Johnson can't be that secure either.
Fedora, Taggart, and Narduzzi haven't really shown they should be in the ACC. Fedora has wasted a ton of talent, maybe even more than Al Groh. Narduzzi has had some talent too, but not sure on overall team talent, their defense hasnt looked good since he started.
Oh, f*ck pat narduzzi
The same PJ who just put up 66 on Louisville? I don't think his seat is heating up.
GT had put up 60+ multiple times this year I think. I am worried about that game.
The only other time they put up 60+ was against Bowling Green, in their 3 losses they put up 38 on USF, 19 on Pitt and 21 on Clemson
I read an article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution essentially saying, "Paul Johnson isn't going to a win a championship but he's by far the most successful GT coach in 25 years and is probably the best they can do." I think his seat might warm up if he missed a bowl multiple years and never beat UGA, but as long as Georgia is a perennial playoff team, I'm not sure even GT expects to ever beat them.
Similarly to Johnson, Narduzzi hasn't been great but who else is Pitt going to get? They almost hired Mike Haywood and got left high and dry by Todd Graham and Paul Chryst. I won't pretend that Narduzzi has an unlimited leash but as long as he's making bowls, I don't think his seat warms up very quickly.
Taggert has been in the league for... 6 games. And has an insane buyout. He's not gone this year but the seat will start to warm quickly without progress. The good news for him is he has set the bar LOW in year one so he could get a few years with steady improvement.
Fedora is legitimately on the hot seat this season and if UNC hadn't beaten Pitt I would feel even worse about his chances to survive this year. I think he will survive another season if he can scrape together 2-3 more wins but it's far from guaranteed.
Wait. Big 12 teams have Defensive Coordinators? I always thought they just winged it. /s
All I want is for Ruffin to get the dap he deserves, too much love to that man.
My fav part of this thread is that basically all comments ignored what was mainly hinted at in the thread.
It's not gonna happen.
As far as stoops coming to the ACC who knows. I think the only person who's seat is warm in the acc is Fedoras right now.
I was starting to think it was too subtle. I don't think it's realistic either, but I wouldn't be surprise if he gets on some writer's shortlist or rumors of a phone call leak and people start freaking out.
As for Stoops' landing spot, I'd be shocked if any school outside of FCS gave him a head gig, and not even UNC would be clueless enough to hire him as DC
This was being passed around on reddit:
Let us remember the "8 yard cushion" drive brought to us by Stoops:
Thanks for the laugh. The fact that the scoring play is a run robs us of some comedy though.
College football politics are so fascinating
Lunatics running the asylum.
I mean, Stoops definitely should've been fired. That defense was a wet paper towel, and the reason they lost two playoff games. My guess is Riley wanted Stoops fired, but couldn't do it without respecting Bob, so he had the administration float the rumor when the time was right. Just my speculation.
I don't disagree that his defense was terrible. I just think the head coach should make the call and own it if that's what happened.
If you read between the lines a bit, I think it's clear OU is going to bring in Nikki Haley. I would expect an announcement this week.
