CJ Carroll Leaving football.

Feel bad for the kid but glad he figured it out before it took a lifelong toll.

Phew I thought it was something ugly. I hope he gets to keep travelling with the team and be a part of the locker room, I've heard hes a cool dude

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

Respect. Best of luck to him. He seems like the type of player that would make a good coach if he wanted to pursue that.

The Dude Abides

He's the smallest and one of the toughest dudes in football. Can't imagine this was an easy decision for him. Wish him the best...and best of health.

We put the K in Kwality

Dang, that's sad to hear. He was a great threat in the ND game in South Bend and definitely had his moments. Sucks losing a guy like that. Good luck in your next ventures, CJ

Good luck little buddy!

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

Little?

Chick Patty w/ Cheese

He's only 5'8" and 173lbs.

Which means he's really 5'5"-5'6"...

We put the K in Kwality

Yeah, I'm almost certain I've heard it from multiple sources he is 5'6

Sorry to see CJ go but I wish him well. He represented the Hokies well.

A practical question:. Who is our #1 punt returner now? Hazelton has fielded a few but CJ has taken the Lions share all season.

Wheatley has fielded some kicks this year, maybe we see him more.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I was wondering why he hadn't been starting in forever. Damn 😕

There are wolves and there are sheep, I am the sheep dog

because we have 8 wrs better than him.

Best of luck CJ

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

Good luck in the regular world with the rest of us, CJ. He gave us a huge spark in the 2nd half of the 2016 ND game with his huge catch and run. I'm glad he got to make some memorable plays and enjoy college football before he had to hang up the cleats.

Great play. Always giving everything he had when he was on the field. Watching the replay made me miss Evans too.

Heck of a 3rd down conversion catch against wvu last year. A key play in the victory. A team player - will find further success. Well done cj.

Who's going to fair catch our punts now?

Is coronavirus over yet?

I wonder what DeJuan Ellis is up to....its worth giving him a go back there for 3-4 games to see how he does.

Settle leaving for the draft just keeps hurting us.

If you play it, they will win.

I hate this for Carroll. His game was larger than his size. Good luck CJ.

That sucks, now who is going to be our new Danny Coale? best of luck kid

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

CJ Carroll may have been the best of us. He had hands like Steve Largent, ran routes like Danny Amendola, caught punts like Julian Edelman. I'll always remember his Don Beebe-like receiver skills that bordered on Steve Tasker abilities. He always reminded me of Danny Coale, though he was deceptively fast.

On that Notre Dame catch and run, I was in the stands and as soon as he caught it over the middle I said 'thats a touchdown' and the ND fans (good folks, BTW) looked at me like I was crazy. Then he ran another 50 yards and almost got in. Good times CJ, thaaaaaanks for the memoriiiiieeees.
