Offensive lineman D'Andre Plantin informs me that he's asked for and been granted his release from the #Hokies. The RS junior from Norcross, Georgia, plans to transfer after graduating this December. No indication yet to where. His name's in the NCAA transfer database.— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) October 21, 2018

Obligatory The Numbers Always Work Out comment.
Obligatory will Dwayne Lawson transfer comment.
But has he, though? With JJ hurt, next year might be Lawson's to shine. #Lawson4Heisman
Obligatory 'this opens up a spot for Drew Harris' in case he wants to show up comment
Obligatory:

You keep using that word, "obligatory". I do not think it means what you think it means.
Obligatory leg for the Princess Bride reference.
The DT depth chart will test this theory in a big way next year.
Really thought he'd be starting LG.
#sauces say he cleaned out his locker the week of the ND game.
I hope he's not plantin the precedent of more transfers
The way his season is goin, he got buried deep in the depth chart and wasn't gonna play ever. So now next week we'll have 2 guards go down, move Hoyt to guard and then have a high snap by the 3rd string Center cost us a fumble and the game.
JUCO and Grad Transfer DTs....one more scholarship.
Is it though? Would a 'ship even be available if a rising RS Senior transfers?
Yes because he has a year left on his scholarship. So bringing in a grad transfer who only has 1 year fits. Also while it may seem weird to give it to someone who needs more than one year. Every year kids with eligibility leave early.
Raymon Minor gone also. While not on scholarship he was a link to Benedictine, which is turning out some talent in richmond.
The Raymon Minor saga has been a strange one. Leaving the team multiple times makes me wonder if he is going through something not related to football, and in any case I wish him all the best.
The bigger question here is: why is Mike Barber in charlottesville?
That graduate transfer rule is really a great tool for student athletes.
Good luck D'Andre! Go get that graduate degree!
Should have moved him to DT
