Looks like we are on a collision course to the Super Bowl of the Rams vs. Kansas City. Of course that could change at anytime.
Mahomes is incredible. The offense Andy Reid is using, reminds me of Fuente's, with all the misdirection, who knows who has the ball.
It will be interesting to see what happens down the stretch.
Also a bunch of interesting trades. Gruden cleaning house in Oakland, and same with Giants. Big question mark with both teams is due they keep their QBs or trade them away before the deadline?

Giants in rebuild mode about 7 months too late. I think Eli stays this year, makes it his retirement tour like they should have done last year.
Rest of the NFC East just isn't that good. Rams and Chiefs are clear class of their respective conferences, but I think that Saints and Pats are challengers (Pats having already handed KC their only loss).
The NFC E is pretty poo this year from top to bottom. Reminds me of the NFCS a few years ago when a 7-8-1 Panthers won the division. Someone is going to win it. Someone is going to have a home game in January. Someone's season is going to end shortly thereafter. The Eagles could still turn it around, but without a decent running game, its going to be a tough hill to climb.
The Rams better win now because they have ALL their chips in to win in the next 2 years. Things don't look very good long-term for them, but hey, they're going for it now and I respect the heck out of that. And the Chiefs are one of those teams where, if they're still playing at this level in December, then I'll be convinced. I've been fooled too many times by them looking great early, and then completely collapsing late. But man, if its not those 2 teams, there is a group of about 8 who could seriously make a run.
The trade of Snacks Harrison for a 5th rounder is just unbelievable to me.
There was a good chance he'd be cut after the year for cap anyway, so might as well accelerate the tear down this year and get a pick for him while you're at it. Same thing with the Apple trade - Gettleman and Shurmur gave him a chance after all that crap last year, showcased him enough for someone to bite on the cheap contract.
Snacks had more value then that. His contract was actually more flexible then most think. He's like a top 5 DT in the league and we just gave him away.
They pay Snacks 4.36M for his services this year.
Snacks gets to go to a contender, and probably plays with a little more enthusiasm than if he was still there.
Then Detroit has the option of keeping him next year for 7M, or negotiate a salary cut, or just cutting him with no dead money.
The Chiefs offense is ridiculous, but I don't think they can win a super bowl with the 32nd ranked defense (YPG). The Rams on the other hand have a similar offense and the 7th ranked defense (YPG).
The age old, Defense Wins Championships, is just a saying in today's league. The rule changes have made the NFL more of a shoot out league then anything else.
I mean it definitely decided the Super Bowl last year. The Patriots defense in the second half was the single worst defensive performance I have ever watched in pro football. If Tom Brady had let out a 20 minute rant that was 90% curse words in the postgame conference directed at their defense nobody would have blamed him.
There was no defense played in the Super Bowl. It was the highest offensive production in Super Bowl history. The eagles just made one or two more plays last year.

That was my point. The Patriots made zero plays on defense, the Eagles made several. The Patriots might as well have been going 7 on 7 against the Eagles since their pass rush showed absolutely no interest in threatening the QB at all.
They made one. Outside of the strip sack, it was a game of which offense would hiccup first.

Can't wait for the Vikings to knock the Rams out of the playoffs, revenge style. Lost by 7 in LA with some absolute garbage calls. Uncalled blatant false start on one of LA's touchdowns that everyone in the booth called out, called Thielen down by contact when it is not even close to questionable that he did NOT get touched and he scored on that play and they called it dead so there was no way to overturn it and give us our 100% by the rules of the game deserved touchdown. Embarrassing referee performance in that one.
I had high hopes for the Falcons this year, but damn. Injury bug has been stalking them. Three of their best defenders (LB Jones, SS Neal, FS Allen) are on IR, as are some key offensive players (RB Freeman, G Levitre, G Fusco, K Bryant). DT Jarrett has been out here and there.
They had as good a shot as ever to be the first team to play in the Super Bowl at home, and these injuries have just decimated their chances. They're still good enough, at least offensively, to maybe make the playoffs, but I don't see them making a deep run. While I'd never root against them, I wouldn't mind if they ended up losing enough that they can draft that big DT out of Houston.
Future looks bright, though. Defense was on the verge of top 10 last season with a lot of young stars. Offense is hot, and looks like they found a playmaker in Ridley. Would like for a bit more line depth, but there's no reason this team can't be a strong playoff contender for the next few years.
The Cowboys suck. Jerry Jones is senile. Scott Linehan is unbelievably predictable. Dak aint it.

The Panthers are... kinda good? I think? Predicting we sneak into a wildcard spot this season. Really wish I was more confident in overtaking the Saints but the consistency isn't there.

Carr has completely lost his confidence and lost the locker room by all reports. We can cut him or trade him with only 7.5 million in dead money next year. Since we seem to be in complete tank and rebuild mode I would say flip him if we can get another first or some 2nd rounders from him...

If the Raiders wanted to move on from Carr, they could trade him in the off-season for draft picks, draft a QB to develop and bring in Eli Manning as a bridge. Eli has the name recognition to make it seem logical but would under-perform enough to make switching to the young QB an easy decision.

The Tate trade makes sense because of compensatories. Eagles give up a third in this upcoming draft, let him walk at the end of the year (because no cap room to resign him), and then recoup a (likely) 4th rounder in 2020. They are effectively giving up much less than it seems.
I think Tate has another year on his contract that they could pickup if they would like to.
He is UFA after this year.

Stroman has been getting some run from what I can tell. He must've played a good bit last week because he had a great PBU I saw floating around Twitter.
He's playing a lot like Fuller did his first year. Some mistakes that make teams go after him the entire game, but he seems to be growing.
Maybe the Packers shipping out Montgomery means McCarthy finally realized that Aaron Jones is by far his best RB who should be getting the majority of snaps. In typical McCarthy fashion, it only took him half a season to figure out what everyone else good see last year.
