VT Scoring Idenity this Century

Since every week brings on a new question on how different this year is here's VT's scoring since 2000

Touchdowns are 7 points-not including PAT separate or missed PATS or 2 point conversions
Defense is Interceptions and Fumbles scored for a Touchdown and Safeties,
Special Teams is Punts and Kickoffs returned for a TD

Under NCAA Rules, Virginia Tech does not count statistics from bowl games in the team or individual statistical totals for games prior to the 2002 season.

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

I've said it before in other threads but our identity summary is:

"We play well with the lead on offense, but we have lacked the firepower to go tit-for-tat in a shootout, NOR can we bail out the team when the defense has a bad performance."

Oh good, I am not crazy in thinking that our defense has not been as threatening to score lately. Looks like 2008 was the last year we put up some nice points on D. Take out 2014 and there would almost be a perfect step change. Wonder what changed?

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.
