We all seem very worried about QP's and other player ability to RedShirt this year or Next year. But any good player is going Pro after 3 years in almost any circumstance, See us the last few years. And with the new transfer rules any good player can transfer easier if things dont develop the way they like See Clemson/Bama over the Summer Lots of other players like our QB1

I know it's more the exception than the rule but I'll always think "what if" when I think of this guy.
Would have it mattered? Even if we had Tyrod, we still go 0-2 against Clemson that year. We probably beat Michigan so we get one extra win.
But we did beat Michigan that year, regardless of what the record books say.
Eh, I definitely think we could have beaten Clemson in the first matchup with a seasoned Tyrod. Logan was very good in most of 2011 but his deficiencies as a passer that eventually caused so much frustration from 2012 onward really showed in those two games.
Not saying it wouldn't have been close or anything but the game at Lane in 2011 we basically didn't move the ball at all in that game and the defense still kept it somewhat close - I think Tyrod could have tipped the scales in our favor there.

It is a valid question. If a player has the ability to contribute as a true freshman, it is unlikely that he will maximize his eligibility anyway. There is always uncertainty but the value of the red shirt does appear to have dropped some.
Yes. Because plenty of 5th year seniors that never go pro will make the difference on (ACC) championship level teams for those of us that can't recruit like Bama.
