Yeah I almost feel the same way I feel when I watch the Redskins.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I went so numb to the Redskins and the NFL that I completely gave them up. It couldn't have been more free-ing.

I hope the Hokies don't become that way to me.

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

I turned off the Pitt game when we went down 10-0. It was very obvious we were in the process of getting humiliated.

I glanced at game progress from my phone as I have better things to do than watch an absolutely hapless team playing very very poorly. It was not good football. They were completely outclassed. Why waste time watching adults mangle children?

This is the first time in I don't know how long that I never actually watched a second of the game. Went to support family at a different sporting event and listened on the radio.

I made the right choice.

If this had been a Redskins game, I would have checked out by halftime.

Even though I was sure the outcome was going to be the same, I just can't do that to the Hokies.

Completely agree. I stuck it out til the end and would've definitely quit on the Skins. But I felt the same emotions as I watched them gash us over and over. "Ha ha. It's happening again."

Hokies and Redskins have the same karma.

Are you talking about my dog?

Because I totally think I should bring him to games.

Can he track and catch footballs? If so he could play corner.

He's very smart, so I'm sure he could.

He's SOO cute. Reminds me of one we had.

And with cone:

So cute! I love the cone of shame. My guy sliced his side open in the yard back in May, so he was extra salty about the cone for almost two weeks. Here he is after a run with me ๐Ÿ˜ such a happy boy.

Poor pup. Glad he's doing better. He does look SUPER HAPPY! Our's had a white spot on his chest as well, it's kind of hard to see in this pic. We thought he was a lab mix but doggie DNA said he was mostly boxer and beagle. IDK, I guess if you mix a bunch of breeds you get something that looks like a lab.

What did we do to deserve dogs is what i want to know. I have two, Lane is my younger guy, he's almost two. Cooper is my old man, he's eleven, and the two of them are just best buds.

OMG cuteness overload!

I legit love you all and this great, passionate community. That is all I want to say about today.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

The issue I have is that we are not hard, smart or tough as a team. Was that not this staff's mantra? We have individuals who are, but not the team. I know I'm probably just feeling bitter. Damn!

Is it time to fire Bud Foster? I see no emotion. No sense of urgency. No adjustments. Every team we play runs through us like sh** through a goose. Is it possible to put in an extra linebacker or lineman? Something? What the f**k do you work on all week?

Dell from the turkey!!

If it's time to fire Foster it's also time to fire Corny. I get that we should be better stocked at some positions but the defense is WAY inexperienced.

Fire Cornelsen first though.

Yes. What he said.

No idea why you've been down voted man.

I piss people off. It happens.

Sure it happens. Be sure not to poke the bear.

Not sure I understand exactly who or what encompasses the bear. I don't attack or defame anyone, and I am civil to everyone, regardless of whether they are to me. Not expressing honest and respectful positions would, in my view of myself, entail a lack of integrity. Everyone is different.

I've always thought your posts valuable and occasionally search threads for your username to see what you have to say.

But today, with as high as the emotions clearly are (and, to be honest, should be), the post about the vent thread in the game thread was a bit premature and had the feeling of a doomsday scenario a bit too early (I legged it and supported it at the time). That VTGM supposedly deleted a thread you created (that I never saw) and then producing a new thread later seems a bit...anxious...to jump at the opportunity to leverage the negativity that we are all surely feeling.

Again, I've seen you hit it out of the park at times with great original insights, but today you seemed a bit too ready for the crash. It'd be easy to be a little more restrained.

Much love, no beefs, all of this is just IMHO.

The thread that was deleted was the Vent Thread. Which... I thought you saw...

Never saw it but encouraged its creation on the game thread.

Which new thread was capitalizing on negativity?

Sorry I called you an a-hole. I just felt like you kinda walked right into it by suggesting you'd look like one later. And I thought you were being overly negative again but it turns out you were right. I still disagree with posting vent threads when the game is far from over, but I can't deny you were right.

You don't have to apologize for calling me an a-hole if that's how you honestly feel. I don't hold it against you.

I don't think you are. I just thought you were being one. But there was no point in saying it. I wasn't adding anything useful.

I know it's weird to reply to myself. I WAS NOT agreeing with firing Foster.

Someone in the game thread posted we have 19 players we lost on defense from last year and to injuries. Who should he be playing?

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Terrible roster management on the part of the staff isn't some free pass. I'm not sure why we act like guys getting hurt or guys leaving early doesn't happen everywhere.

We have a staff that wants to make sure we're 11 deep at WR, but totally neglects DT. And really hasn't proven there even able to evaluate DL talent.

Any examples or data to back this up? Honest question. On top of my head I can't think of any non blue blood to have a good year with this kind of attrition. I do agree that we went a little nuts on WR recruiting.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." - K

DL should be one of our strengths, with Charlie Wiles being the position coach for about 30 years, right? I agree, it is confusing why we are in this predicament on the D-line.

"That man was violating a city ordinance, and I was just doing my duty to enforce it." - Mike Curtis

Uh, no. Before this year, he was the best defensive coordinator in the country with over 20 years of experience. There isn't a defensive coordinator in the country we could bring in that would be an improvement.

Don't be a prisoner of the moment.

Fuente is the same way, he doesn't ever really show any emotion.

Because coaching ability is directly correlated to the emotion shown on the sideline.

If that's the case let's go ahead and hire one of those batshit crazy peewee league parents who storms the field and fights the coaches and/or players. I'm sure that will work out.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Because coaching ability is directly correlated to the emotion shown on the sideline.

Brad Stevens must be a terrible coach if that's the case. Oh wait...

Leg for you ShakeitAllAbout.

This is the dumbest comment I've ever seen on this site, Kevin.

Here's an idea: can we leave the lunch pail in the locker room? It hasn't been used for 6 weeks. It's embarrassing when we take it out to the captains' meeting. You got to know the other team is talking among themselves "I didn't think that lunch pail could hold that much goose sh** that they've had run through them." Put it away until it is earned.

Dell from the turkey!!

We could, but we could also give it to Ricky Walker. I have zero doubts about that guy carrying it, even with what we've seen recently

every time i hear "No adjustments" I feel obligated to ask, do you actually know what you're talking about? I sure don't, but coaches and a few valuable members of this site do. What adjustments that should've been made were not? Was Bud not adjusting to the best of his ability and still not able to solve the problem (hint: this is it)? "No sense of urgency". Help me understand what that looks like. An analogy i hate to use but seems to be the only thing i can come up with is a sick patient (our defense). Ultimately a doctor(Bud) can take every action and do their very best to save a life, but the patient can't be cured. He isn't a magician or god, he's a football coach. I dread the day we lose him as a DC.

TLDR: No, it isn't time to fire an excellent DC.

i dont agree with the fire bud push at this point. but for the sake of discussion, bud is getting old, he is going to retire eventually. At what point do you put him out to pasture, or do you let him just linger around as long as he wants, a la beamer?

Bud has tenure. He leaves when he's ready to leave.

Whatever, we're a basketball school now.

I called this in 2015. It's in the TKP archives. I shied away from it after Fuente was hiredand kept Bud, but in Beamer's twilight I kept thinking that we would start a carousel of football coaches while Buzz built us into a basketball school in the premiere basketball conference.

I've been watching the OU-OSU game to get my mind off of this dumpster fire and they randomly show the highlight of Ollison stiff arming Farley for a 97 yard TD. Nice.

I do think Farley should move back to offense next season.

Yes, agreed. But we have depth at WR so this will be tough.

I don't want this to turn into another Trey Edmunds scenario, where he should have been a linebacker.

since farley's problem is tackling and physicality, i really dont think LB is a good fit for him.

I don't think horse is suggesting Farley be a linebacker. I think he's suggesting we don't want guys playing on the wrong side of the ball.

Kendall Briles

Not sure why someone down voted that, but he'd be a great choice, crushed it at FAU last year and Houston this year. He's a damn good coordinator.

Probably because they want nothing to do with anyone associated with what happened at Baylor. Though for the record, I did not downvote you.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

According to a lawsuit filed in January 2017, a Baylor graduate alleges she was gang raped by two football players in 2013. In addition, allegedly more than 50 instances of rape, committed by 31 football players, occurred between 2011 and 2014. The lawsuit alleges Kendal Briles, former Baylor assistant coach, encouraged these actions and once asked a Dallas potential recruit: "Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players."

Hard pass bro.

Still wish we had pushed for Lincoln Riley instead of hiring Leoffler....

I mean, Shane Beamer is on his staff right now...

If we did go another direction on O, I don't care if it's spread, pistol, pro style, single wing, flexbone, or whatever. I want a concerted emphasis on winning at the point of attack, developing an OL that can actually run block, and a between the tackles running game that can wear down the D and win you a ballgame. We are far too soft and finesse oriented on offense, and I frankly hate it. Too much misdirection and sideline to sideline. I know a lot of people have been saying we upgraded talent at OL, but I'm not seeing much progress there.

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

Is this a real thing? Like someone is actually putting thought into it? If so, how the heck is Dan Mullen #10 (or really on the list at all)? He just got to Florida and for the first time in forever, they vaguely have something resembling an offense. Hypothetically if he were let go, I'd take him in a heart beat. (FWIW, he was my top choice along with Kirby Smart when Beamer retired)

How do you watch the post game interviews? By that I mean where do you find them? TBD if i will be able to stomach it.

I don't know if there is video, but hokisports.com has audio.

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

Video has been posted on hokiesports. There are always some good nuggets in there. There's one point where Fuente is talking about the frustration at the lack of consistency on both sides of the ball. You can see he's a little miffed at having to answer questions on the topic, kinda like "You guys think we aren't frustrated too, that we aren't trying to improve these things?" But he basically says it's culture, and it takes time to develop maturity and consistency.

On another sort of related note, it's a shame that Hokie Sports can't ever clean up their audio on the postgame pressers. It seems like 90% of the time the videos either don't work or they sound like they're being recorded through Kevin McAllister's Talkboy.

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

Could not agree more.

As Andre Ware would say, that performance really peeled the paint off the walls.

I don't know if it was Ware or the other guy (Brown?) that said he "needs more rocks in his pockets" when talking about Farley getting waylaid on a missed tackle that turned into a td.

On the plus side, the fire burning under some of the coaches' seats right now should keep us warm during the current cold weather

May the road ahead of us be lit by the bridges we burn behind us...

We put the K in Kwality

Next year I have faith that Bud will turn chicken shit in to chicken salad. I can see the talent on offense. They seem to turn gas station egg salad to chicken shit.

18 out of 22 players on the offensive 2-deep this game will be back next year.

20 out of 22 players on the defensive 2-deep this game will be back next year.

Josh Jackson, Bryce Watts, Jeremy Webb, Devon Hunter and Xavier Burke will be back next year.

76% of our current roster is either a freshman or sophomore.

There are high school seniors that have committed that will play right away in 2019.

Nowhere to go but up. We will be significantly better next year.

With the attrition we had this offseason, it's hard to believe those numbers will hold true.

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

But can this coaching staff develop the players? That's one thing I think Beamer and his staff excelled at. 3 star players that would kill themselves for the team. Kids who weren't recruited heavily. Only offered a few Division 1 scholarships and had a chip on their shoulder. Walk ons who busted their asses to be apart of the team and then become starters. I just don't see that with this team. Whatever you want to call it, passion, fire, intensity. It's just not there.

I don't know how much we can say Beamer developed versus Fuente yet. Also, I would postulate most likely most of those "developed" 3 Stars VT has would likely be recruited as 4 stars in this day and age of social media and recruiting access to high school players. Before, VT did most of their recruiting in the backyard because there was so much hidden talent close by. Now, almost nothing is hidden. I think it would be very interesting if somehow someone could go back and try to re-evaluate 2000s high school tapes and apply star rankings to them.

But can this coaching staff develop the players?

Is this a serious question? Fuente turned two star Paxton Lynch into a first-round draft pick. He turned a former walk-on into an All-American receiver who was drafted by the Bears in the second round.

It's a fair question. Lynch is one guy. It's also hard to tell how much of an effect Darrel Dickey (now OC and Texas A&M) had on Lynch's development. Also consider that Lynch didn't do well in the NFL and faced G5 defenses for the vast majority of his college career and there are plenty of questions.

SO he can hang his career hat on that?

No, he can hang his career hat on being given the worst program in division one football and producing 19 wins in his last two seasons. He can hang his career hat on winning a conference coach of the year award in his first season at Virginia Tech. You guys act like they just forgot how to coach this year.

I think it's a fucking miracle we have a chance to be .500 after all of the injuries we had this year.

Nowhere to go but up. True. When you are this bad it's hard to get any worse.

Cool

My thought still stands

Guys, I get it. For some (at least me), VT football is the thing we look forward to most in the week.

But think about this -- we don't really have any control on how this team plays. It's not rational nor healthy to get worked up about things we can't control. This happens to me at work a lot and it has almost wrecked me. Please don't let football, which is supposed to be a fun activity, do the same to you.

For me, I chose to focus on the fact that I felt the team was trying. They may have been way out of position, but guys like Ryan Willis are what make me proud to be a Hokie and are why I get up everyday and try to keep pushing through whatever challenges I face.

We're all very prideful fans and to me, this is about pride. It doesn't matter to me if this team doesn't win another game this season, but as long as they keep swinging, I'll support them as much as I can. Continuing to push is all I can ask for as a fan and if the team keeps doing that, good things will happen. #GRIT

Yup, Willis and Peoples stood out to me as playing their nuts off.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Yeah, but Willis won't step up in a collapsing pocket and make a throw. He took sacks today he didn't need to. I don't know if it's still timidity over the hit he took last week, or if that's just part of his game, but I was cursing every time a DE got behind him (but was still engaged with a blocker) and Willis just took off.

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

I think Willis has Kansas-itis.

Turrible disease, especially for QBs.

Well, it's not like his supporting cast is playing that much better than Kansas...

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

Gaines with a torn ACL.

Goddammit, that means he's most likely gone for the start of next season.

Major bummer. I really feel for him after all he has been through.

Stay positive Houshun! Keep working hard and things will work out!

โ€œCareful Man, There's a Beverage Hereโ€

I come on here, I see my misery is shared. I read some things, I say some things, I feel a little better. I go back to doing other things in life. TKP = therapy, and without it, being a VT football fan would be a lot worse right now. The good times are good here too.

Haven't watched a game in 3 weeks and i can honestly say I'm a better person for it.

"Nooooooooooo!"
~What happened?
"James Franklin to Virginia Tech...."
~Fuck me......*sigh*
"Oh my God.... They're gonna take all our recruits... like WTF bro...."
~*squints eyes in disbelief*

And I'm assuming happier?

That was also the last time we won. Get this guy a TV stat!!!!

Looks like it. Where the fam thread?

It was deleted. ;-)

Ha! Nice. :)

Kind of funny. If you look at our respective offensive philosophies it's like we switched personalities.

I'm wondering about our second half scoring drives the last few weeks. How much of it is the offense being good, and how much of it is the defense having a 2 or 3 score lead and not worrying about giving up a touchdown?

I'm a Pittsburgh native born and raised walking around the north shore and point state park drunk out of my mind if anyone wants to join. Too sad to be around all my pitt friends. Decked out in tech gear if anyone wants to be sad with me.

Well guys ... full on sad :/

I refuse to be angry any more, it is counter productive. I can be disappointed but a couple weeks ago i accepted that our defense is just plain bad. Unless the offense works great we aren't going to win anymore games this year.

I was pretty miserable despite good company watching the game in a bar in Arlington today. And then, despite all the misery, Big Pimpin by Jay-Z came on. I don't know why, but I flashed back to riding around in a teammates truck with a baby pool filled in the back and listening to that song. And life was ok.

As a fan, who has invested a large portion of my time and attention over the last couple of decades, this sucks. Sometimes you just have to take a step back for a second and remember, as bad as this is, I can bet none of us feel as badly as the competitors and coaches who are being humbled and embarrassed like this. Two things can happen. Either they can learn from it, and do what is necessary to overcome. Or, they can accept it, and losing becomes a habit. Let's hope this team from top to bottom can deal with adversity better in the long term than they have in the short term.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

As a life long redskin and hokie fan, I'm actually going to disagree with you. It sucks to lose but I'd much rather lose for a scholarship with my best friends or a multi million dollar salary, than lose for free in front of all my sec friends. As a previous player, we're in a much shittier position.

Watching football takes time away from others in my life and is a deconstructive hobby regardless of team success. As a player it's a huge life builder.

Mook shouldn't be riding with his boys in a car full of pot if he still wanted to be playing for this team.

Ignore this

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

And Beckett shouldnt have been labeled as a kingpin worthy of swat kicking in his door. Oh wait, they dismissed the case due to lack of evidence. Mook at this point has said nothing negative about this university which is far from what the fans and folk have said about him! He gave all he had to this school for three years (two of which he played more than half the season injured) as an undersized 185 pound whip! Yes he speaks his mind and yes hes accoustomed to having a seat at the table when he invests in the team. He is the son of a marine and knows all about accountability and leadership. Those players know who can get them locked and loaded! Pull that nasty out of them. If you doubt it go rewatch the Arkansas game! Kid wasn't supposed to even play but what happened when he got it the game! Hard for some to believe that players can go harder for a player than a coach! Some coaches embrace it others despise it! To have a nasty D you have to have dudes who love nasty!!! In your eyes I guess he is guilty until proven innocent....lol. Funny how and when that pharse gets fiipped depending upon circumstance. You have no idea whats going on in the locker room Sir. We love this university and have recruited for it, my son played for it and we support the brand! NC2VT started with Mook Reynolds. Remember that! And so you know he won his case at the VT honor board. If Mook retweets something thats his right! I mean hasnt he given more of his blood and body to the program than lets say YOU? Give the kid the benefit of being innocent until proven guilty. Kids never been academically ineligible, never suspended for a game or anything. Well he did miss practice due to the flu but thats an even more ridiculous story. Funny but you dont even see what is happening to Bud in front of your eyes! Dudes and icon with someone who doesn't like to share the stage. Oh there are so many facts you folk dont know. But I cant say because Ive been told by the big man that if I do there will be no pro day for Mook. After all he's given I thought that would be automatic....lol. And you wondered why you get no info๐Ÿ‘€ Really the kid should be respected! He's sat back and saw his team literally destroyed and knows why but has remained loyal to the team, the university and the fans. Trust and believe me he could have made it worse but he loves his former teamates, some of which he's responsible for them wearing the VT logo and colors. He would never want them to be distracted or be put in a position to be unsuccessful. Stop looking at folks words and look at their actions or at least ask follow up questions. Mook is a good kid and I wont allow you or anyone else to insenuate otherwise.

I do agree that this team, at least most of the defense and O-line have no nasty in them. No heart on the field.

Welcome back!

There's a lot of disturbing information here, but I can't help but pick up on what I'm interpreting as blackmailing silence by holding Mook's pro tryout over his head after he's been kicked off the team. If that is truly the case, and I have no reason to not believe you, that's disgusting behavior by the staff.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

As each week goes by I feel like I'm learning more & more about who Justin Fuente really is & I can't say I like what I'm hearing. Very disappointed in this staff & especially the HC. Yikes

I have no reason to doubt or challenge what you're saying....but I might have bad information about the drug charges. I've been under the impression that a felony charge is an automatic dismissal per Virginia Tech policy. Meaning the coaches can't give the player time to fight the charges whether they want to or not.

It's definitely guilty until proven innocent, you're right there. But it's also above the football program's head, in my understanding.

Do we still operate under the old "CAP" Beamer and company put in place after some issues back in the late 90's? If so, as I recall the players are suspended until the felony charges are resolved.

Correy

what ever happened to guilty until proven innocent? If we have learned anything over the past decade of civilian-cop interactions, its that the number of times that the cops are full of shit is non-trivial.

All the legs for you sir!

Is coronavirus over yet?

I miss frank ๐Ÿ˜•

Feels like a lot of people have forgotten Frank went 6-6 three of his last four seasons and twice needed wins against LOLUVA just to make a bowl game.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Join us in the Key Players Club

That is very true. However, this team simply doesn't look like any of those teams.

He will always be a Hokie.

What did it say?

Looks like that tweet doesn't exist. What did it say?

I went out in D.C. and got drunk.

I don't have anything insightful to say. I don't have a plan.

Maybe I will tomorrow.

The only thing I know is I love being a Hokie and I love the TKP community. I intend to continue subscribing until I die.

You all have a good night and be well.

I love Hokie football, I love TKP, and hopefully we can beat a similarly struggling Miami and keep the Commonwealth Cup. If not, hope springs eternal for next season.

I only watched the first half. I then left to study as i felt it was a better use of my time. Because kf that i never hit that emotional high after these awful games.

Im honestly apathetic at this point. I know we suck. That isnt changing at all this season. I dont think Fuente needs to go, or Foster. There have been just so many injuries and attrition that has forced such inexperienced players into the fire. All i want is to beat UVA. Idc about the bowl streak. Honestly think everyone involved in the programs would benefit from distancing from this season as much as possible anyways so the extra practices for a bowl dont matter.

Beat UVA. Reset for next year and be better.

Pitt has played 1207 games in its program history. And out of those 1207, it gained the most yards (654) against the Hokies, this year.

I just wanna say that we knew before the season that it would be bad. Sure, we didn't expect it to be THIS bad but you can't count on your starting QB going down for the season before conference play really begins. This team is bad. Historically bad. But it's absolutely not shocking when you take off the O&M glasses. Just take some deep breaths and have faith that it'll get better.

Onward and upward

Settle, Mook, Hill, Edmunds, Edmunds, Motu, Facyson (people forget about him), Alexander, Webb (would have started), Stroman, Burke now, Gaines now, Rivers

We have one defensive starter back from last year in Walker and word is he hasn't been 100% most of the season. Deablo has been dinged up all year and Floyd .. that's it

Ladler, Deablo (at times), Hewitt, Gaines, Mihota (not nearly the same) ..

That's just the defense

Went hunting and didn't watch the game. Can't remember the last time I didn't watch or go to the Hokies game. Just tired of the same old shit with this team. Don't see the talent the coaches see nor any improvement.

Will

So, how was the hunting?

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. " Rocky B.

Hey, I'm disappointed big-time too, but........I'm gonna bite my tongue and be nice here. Other than a fluke loss to UNC by 3, Pitt's other three losses were to top 15 teams. Given the roster we took into that game, why is everyone so shocked that we lost? Geez, how many of their points were single big plays that we know our young guys are going to miss a few (costly yes)? Miami has lost 4 (almost 5....1 pt) straight and are beatable even by us. Yeah, LoLUVA seems to have a defense this year and be much better than years past, but......they're still LoLUVA. Our young guys may be making their share of mistakes, but the majority of comments here, and the coaches say they're still practicing and playing hard and fired up....you don't think they're gonna be jacked up against UVA? Who's to say the Miami game won't be the one where it starts to click well for most of these young men. So, don't be shocked if we beat UVA AND make a bowl! Unwad your panties whiney bitches, and chins up! Even if we don't, they're OUR TEAM, and they're bringing a lot of talent (you've all seen more than occasional flashes) WITH some experience next year! Stepping off soapbox now.

gtofever

I think more of the disappointment comes from how poorly we played. Wasn't expecting to win but when our offense was winning 50/50 balls because our wrs are huge but we only throw those fades a few times...why!? We needed to keep up in a boat race based on how our defense was playing.
Defense giving up huge run plays every series is also not what you wanna see to give yourself confidence that your players are improving and at least learning as the season goes on.

I'm mad.

I'm also concerned about the future.

Yes, this team is young, but we're assuming that in the coming years we'll get better simply because the team will be more experienced, but this team is getting progressively worse as the year goes on.

Where will be be defensively next year?

A Defensive Line without Walker or Mihota and a complete lack of bodies at the DT position isn't going to solve itself.

In the secondary, everyone is coming back...but the guys who are playing haven't exactly shown me that they're simply a year away. Hunter, our prized recruit, had to take a redshirt year despite how poorly the defense is playing and the lack of depth which gives me little confidence.

Linebacker is supposed to be a strength, but that may be the only position group where we can hopefully hang our hats.

On offense, Corny has been exceptionally disappointing and I'm not sure if things will get better.

The Offensive Line loses Chung and Pfaff and I have no faith in this team developing a running game...because there's not a Running Back on the roster who seems to fit whatever Fuente wants.

We have some beasts at Wide Receiver, but next year we won't have Willis. It seems that Hooker is nothing more than a RB at the QB position. JJ will be healthy but what if QP isn't the transcendent QB we expect him to be?

Fuente's future honestly may rely on QP being everything he's been hyped to be. If he's not, the heat may get turned up on Fuente's seat.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

In the defense of the defense getting worse. We have had additional injuries and been playing better teams in the last half of our season.

It still seems to be a poorly coached, ill prepared, soft defense.

The antithesis of what you expect from a Bud Foster squad.
