Fun Fact #1: Memphis will be meeting UCF for the fourth time in 2 years. I believe the last time that happened was between VT and BC during the Matt Ryan years.
Fun Fact #2: UCF will be without QB McKenzie Milton, who suffered a gruesome leg injury last week. Dude had to have surgery to restore circulation to his leg. Yikes.

PICK: UCF's run comes to and end without McKenzie Milton. Memphis outright.

Oklahoma (-7.5)

Fun Fact #1: This will be the first time Texas will play Oklahoma in a city other than Dallas since 1923.
Fun Fact #2: Just in case you needed more confirmation that the Big XII is actually just Texas and some hangers-on, the league indicated this week that the Sooners will be flagged if they make the "horns down" sign.

PICK: That extra half-point makes me nervous here. I'll take Texas and the points.

WTF is the awkward UVA kid doing there? I'd probably drop mine off with strangers if they wore that in my house too, I guess

Alabama (-13)

Fun Fact #1: ESPN already has their goons laying the groundwork to justify Georgiamake the playoff even if they lose to Bama.
Fun Fact #2: Bama OC and general POS Mike Locksley will interview for the Maryland head coaching job. Just when you thought Maryland couldn't get more tone-deaf.

PICK: Georgia isn't as good as last year, and Bama's possibly the best college football team of the last 20 years. I'll take them by 17.

Ohio State (-14)

Fun Fact #1: Northwestern's running game is led by bruiser Isaiah Bowser, who is also known for kidnapping princesses.
Fun Fact #2: While Ohio State's currently on the outside looking in, they're betting favorites to make the playoff over Oklahoma.

PICK: Northwestern really took advantage of a down Wisconsin this year. I'll take Ohio State and lay the points here.

Stanford (-2)
Cal

Fun Fact #1: Not so much a "fun" fact, but a sign of the times with football attendance I guess. Sounds like thousands of seats are still available for what was once one of the biggest rivalry games in college football.
Fun Fact #2: Not so much a "fun" fact, but AT&T just dropped the Pac-12 network. It definitely feels like the college sports TV bubble is bursting, just as cutting-edge John Swofford gets the ACC into the game.
PICK: I have no idea what to make of Stanford this year. Cal's done well so far under Justin Wilcox, but they're still building. Stanford by a TD or so.

Marshall
VT (-4)
It's full of vodka

Fun Fact #1: My neighbor/buddy growing up ended up playing DT for Marshall after VT didn't offer him a scholly. It's hard for me to dislike them much.
Fun Fact #2: Bud Foster is considering staying in the booth for this game, even though he doesn't have to this week. He was there per doctor's orders the last couple of games.
PICK: I'm terrified of a letdown here. I'll take VT by a FG, which means they don't cover. Um, that actually means I'll take Marshall, then.

DRINK OF THE WEEK

While I love bourbon, I generally drink it on the rocks, i.e. cold. I start to want warmer drinks this time of year, and I generally want something that's easy to mix. Enter the Tuaca Hot Apple Pie. Heat up 5 oz of apple cider, add 2 oz Tuaca, and there you go. Warm and delicious, without being too sweet. You can add a cinnamon stick if you want it to look all pretentious and fancy, but generally you're getting it in one of those foam disposable coffee cups at my house.
